Ronnie, you could/should se the 'Marketplace' to sell stuff... it's a shame that it dosn't get used much...

Nobody ever looks in it.
Anyways, here's my latest list;
(Pirates of the Carribean and The League of Extraordinary Gentleman should be avaliable come Monday and on Friday I should be getting Phone Booth, Mean Machine, Jackie Brown and Resevoir Dogs.)

007: Die Another Day -

Are they proper ripped films (from premieres and whatever) or are they ones someone who's sat in the cinema's recorded?

As I said on MSN, they're either DVD-rips or ripped from the actual film reel in American cinemas. In other words, they're all DVD-quality except Daddy Day Care which is my own "telecam" (the word used for a movie filmed in a cinema) movie.

sounds highly illegal. Also, my old man has a few films on VCD, and some are on as many as 4 disks! + the picture quality ain't a patch on dvd. Pixellated, with some areas of films of such poor quality as to make them worse than video tape.

They're probably shite quality VCDs, I suspect.

correct me if im wrong but its not like they're going to be perfect quality unless they are split on a stupid number of CD roms?
i have 2 vcds and they werent perfect, infact nowhere near.

Isn't that just a bit illegal. I'll buy mine the proper way thanks

Well it can depend. Mostly of the original recording. VCDs are mostly 1 cd, because of the size of the CD-R and the length of the movie. You can hold around 80 minutes of VCD movie on a CD-R.
Most movies therefore are on two discs. This preserves the quality, too.
The quality of the VCD depends on the original source. If its a telecam movie, most likely the quality will be of a pirated video tape - pretty poor. These are little Yanks who sit in a cinema filming on a little handicam. The quality sucks.
For new releases, my films are ripped from the original movie reel and then the sound track added, meaning you get near-pefect quality.
For films that have had a DVD release, I rip the DVD to VCD, meaning (bar the extras) you get a DVD quality VCD.
I never deal with telecams.

You just contradicted yourself with that last sentence. What about daddy day care?

It is illegal to own a back-up copy of a movie that you do not own. Therefore by purcashing VCDs, you should own the original movie on either video or DVD.
(of course, remember that it's not illegal to buy, just illegal to sell under false pretences)

Your not aloud to make a backup copy actually. Even if you do own the original.

That was an exception. I had to get that for my dad's mate. Different story. I wouldn't have it up for sale otherwise.

Point 1: Don't go looking for arguments with me... you'll crash and burn.
Point 2: Why don't you learn the law being making yourself look like an idiot.
Point 3: Stop being an idiot.

I saw in this legal thing somewhere that it was illegal to make back-up copies of copyrighted material. Maybe it was just one of my weird dreams.

Where do you think the term "back-up" came from?
By law you are allowed to make one personal back-up.

Well maybe backing up databases and the like?
