Unbelieveable, I need this game.

It's actually made me sad at the prospect of the PS3 failing, that then this messiah of videogames might then go unappreciated.

Now that's pretty damn cool, platforming at it's greatest. I can only hope one day to own a PS3 just for this game, Motorstorm too, but this more so. Awesome, awesome to the max!

That's actually amazing. I'm none too bothered about the graphics which one of the chaps keeps mentioning (although they're obviously nice), but the platforming and creating aspects are great. The PS3 has its killer app.

That's fucking incredible! Jesus christ! Might get a PS3 just for this. I bum player and level creation stuff, and this is the ultimate example. Top drawer. Graphics are lovely, too.

Well, I'd probably wait for a price drop, but on the strength of that video alone, I've already decided I'm getting this game (and I never say that!), which ultimately means getting a PS3 at some point.

It also occurs to me that this is not only pseudo-3D platforming at it's finest, it's also the first example of awesome multiplayer platform gaming (one or two have done it in the past, but it's always been shit)! Wow! Sorry Knighty, but this game fucking pwnes!

Urge to purchase PS3... rising...

It's actually the physics he keeps bumming, and rightfully so. This is a perfect example of more computational power giving rise to new types of games not doable on previouse generations/lesser hardware. Not just better looking games, new ones! Take that, Wiimote fanboys

It's all on a 2d plane too which makes it even easier. Hell, there's a 2d physics engine for Game Maker someone made that's just as good.

Well yeah, obviously I'm not expert at physics in games, but jumping around those felt blocks with the oranges and also the tension in the strings with stars on them seemed to work realistically to me.

Maybe I'm just being distracted by the graphics though, or maybe I'm not aware of the physics simulation available free on the net

Sorry, but what is your problem, I wouldn't call them simple physics at all. I could of betted a million pound you would say that because you always have to complain about every little physical aspect in games.

I wish you would just play games and take time to enjoy them and when a game like this comes along you can't complain, it's pure genius and I bet even Miyamoto is jealous.

Stop going on about stupid technical stuff and getting jealous just because your Xbox can't produce this stuff. You got jealous over the Elite the other week as well. It's so annoying when people are like this.

Anyway this game shall rule and is the only reason I will be getting a PS3. It's a definite purchase and it also means I'll be going multi-format again.

Really Marz, make up your own mind! At first you totally bummed Wii, then some people started hating it, and bumming PS3/X360, and now you are as well... And you don't exactly have the right to tell someone to play a game and then enjoy it while you are so often dismissing games and even an entire console without having played enough of it...

Anyways, it looks fun and all, but it doesn't make me go "Woopdeedoo, I want to play it so badly lolz!" and all that... I think Oni is really being OTT, BIGTIME. Buying an entire console with such a high price (even WITH a price cut) for just a handful of games is MADNESS! MADNESS I TELLZ j00!

I'm not too bothered about it. Seems fun, maybe I'll get to play it someday (when someone that actually knows his games around me will buy it, which is never, seeing even the PS2-gamers around me don't want it, and the people that are more serious about games'd rather get an X360), but until that day comes I'm not losing any sleep over this

I never said the physics weren't GOOD. I said they were simple, which they are. It's almost all simple polygonal shapes and circles and squares. If you read my first post....

I have made up my own mind, since when did I ever bum the Wii? It's a good console, but at the moment it does suck. I can only tell the truth and no decent games = bad console.

I do enjoy games, I only dismiss bad ones. Sonic really doesn't work and it will always be like that, same with Red Steel. I enjoy many games, but those games have to work. I can't see anything going wrong with this so it will be good.

I stand perfectly clear on my judgments and I just don't Knighty is being sane on this one because any other games professionalism would agree with me that they are extremely good physics and it's the truth.

What I don't get is how people can be suprised by this sort of thing nowadays. We are all from the computer generations(growing up with consoles, using PCs like it's nothing at all), so with a bit of logical thinking we'd all have realised things like this were a dead cert?

Are the physics actually 2D? Remember, the game itself is essentially 3D, so I don't see how 2D physics would be applicable.

There are some 3d physics in there, like the cloth, but all the other physics will be based in 2d.

But they're dragging stuff around? It's not all on a strict 2D plane.

It isn't? Coulda fooled me.

I'm not sure how you can say it's not 2d.

Because there's a bit of give towards the screen and into the background, meaning that although it'd 2D gameplay, the engine is 3D, just the limitations on what you can and cannot do make it seem 2D. Pseudo-2D, homeslice
