Super Smash Bros. Brawl Official Thread

The thing in my signature is different to the tournament i'm talking about. But yeah UK does have a competitive community, so you don't have to travel TOO far unless you want bigger tournaments.

Gamebattles hosts online ladders, which then can qualify for online tournaments at the end of the season. Gamebattles has got mostly European players right now but everyone i've played have had great connections and no lag.

Get hyped dudes and dudettes! Super Smash Bros. Bral is out in Europe next Friday! (And Australia the day before...)

I will not allow this release to go on unhyped. I know that the Freeloader and Nintendo being generally dickish has put a damper on the whole thing, but the game, in my opinion, deserves the hype. Without the hype you will not enjoy the game nearly as much as you could.

I propose this thread be revived, and that WiFi competitions and the WiFi Chat Room get in full swing again.

it hard to get hyped a 2nd time when u was kicked in the balls really hard like we was

We cried and we cried, yet nothing stopped the injustice.

We will never make up for lost time unless we hype it up again and enjoy it as much as we can. Many of us have already got it, but nothing is more tragic than those that have waited and lost a lot of interest.

So let me just remind everyone of a few things:
- The character models are very nice
- Sonic The Hedgehog is in it
- CoOp Modes for lots of things, including the full blown Subspace Emmisary Adventure.
- SSE is long and is strung together with cut-scenes bringing Nintendo's worlds together. Nearly all the game's characters are included. Much more than Melee's Adventure Mode, finally a worthwhile 1 Player mode.
- Could be some of the best fun you've had since Melee.
- 35 characters and a whopping 41 stages
- The best game soundtrack ever made
- WiFi Play, not bad at all if both players have a good connection. Some matches feel almost local.

Just some things to help perk up the hype. Also pre-order it at GAME and get a sleeve that isn't available anywhere else on the planet! (That alone has me hyped for a game I already own...) If the hype doesn't pick up I'll post more!

I'm definitely looking forward to picking my copy up on Thursday, but first I really need to finish Okami. That bloomin game never ends! /

they no way i can get as hyped as i was back when it come out in usa and japan i just wish they told us it was going to be this late back then but no we didt know

I dont feel any hype, im looking forward to the game, but i know everything about the game, i was more hyped about metroid and mario kart TBH

Go to GAME on the morning of release and they\'re certain to have one.

I'm hype simply because my friends are all going to get it and we can play some online together. Woooo.

I entered a Brawl compo at my local Gamestation (I think it's nationwide) so I'll have a little go of it before I buy.

Ye dojo it is nationwide, unfortunately none of the Gamestations in my area are participating.
The rules of that tournament are terrible, items on, 4 minute Free for alls (most kills wins, lol). Obviously the tournament wasn't made in mind for the hardcore players to win some uber prize, it was made to promote the game by showing off such features as tournament mode and Smash balls. Either way it would be awesome to win it, 40" HD LCD TV, Subwoofer and 5 speakers would be nice xD

Items on isn't bad, I play with them on most of the time, but I imagine a lot of hardcore Smashers are annoyed at it.

4 Minutes is way too short though. I bet there would be tons of draws.

That being said there are none anywhere near me. I still would have loved to take part. I've never been in a Smash Bros Tournament before.

Sudden death will be deciding the winners yeah, lol.

This would be a terrible first tourney to go to, minus the prize which would be incredible to win. xD

I wonder what the prizes for the Brawl tournament in AUS are going to be. Usually it is something awesome. Can't wait to own some noobs on Saturday.

The UK tournament is this Saturday aswell, I think these tournaments are endorsed by Nintendo. Well anyways I should go and practice.

He's not entering the tournament to give other people a chance. (Actually there are probably more pro players out there anyway... )

You've gotta tell us how well you do XD your success can be comparable to our skill levels.

I haven't played anyone else who's as good as X. I think he's probably one of the best in the UK.

I personally doubt that after spending a lot of time on Smash Boards. I would like to get the chance to play the best in the country though, just to see how out of my league I am.

There will definitely be C3 Tournaments, the problem is that WiFi can be dodgy. While X has improved with Link a lot lately, his main Snake is hard to use online because he requires a lot of precision with his explosives.

I've played alot of people on Smash Boards and I haven't actually played anyone who can beat me yet. That might be because I haven't faced any of the elites yet.
The WiFi is not that bad, as long as you live in the same country and you've got a yellow connection or higher, the matches are still playable.

I've had some alright matches with Red connections... Some...

I've never had a Green or Blue connection though. Never. o.0;.

You really need to get round to fighting one of those elites I guess they're all high and mighty and think they're too good for you though. 'Mirite? ;D

I'm touched anyways yeah we should get some c3 tournaments going for brawl it would be awesome.

I dunno, random people just challenge so I don't know who's a elite.

Just spent a little while reading some Smash Boards threads. They're all so obnoxious it hurts my brain.

Snake/MetaKnight top tier. Snake is overused, MetaKnight is overpowered. Ike is cheap, Yoshi sucks, Noone uses Link, I guess they havn't fought X before huh? Just some common opinions on the site... I think tiers are for queers.

Mods and premium members are the voice of reason and members with a post count under 200 aren't respected at all. (Slightly sarcastic)

I'm going to try and get a Wired connection later this week. I can't wait! I'm looking forward to fighting like; everyone. The fights should hopefully be better.
