I beat Falkner. I\'ve been messing around most of the day \'cos I want to play it as least as I can.


OK guys. Major spoilers here, below is possibly the biggest deal in the Pokémon story for quite some time, and it happens in HG/SS (as in, not in the original). Read if you don\'t care or if you really want to know, but if you\'re saving it you\'re in for a surprise (although considering it\'s an event, you may have to wait a while even after the game it out)



All I can say is, I hope to god that the event is over WiFi so everyone can do it...

OMG SuperLink. I...I...

The pokemon fanboy in me just exploded with excitement. Nintendo MUST make that a wifi event.

I've just reached Falkner. I died as his Pidgey spammed Sand-Attack on me.

I have a HootHoot lv 12, Cyndaquil lv 13 and a Gastly lv 6.

These games are too good to be true. Brain overload.

Agreed, HG/SS seem almost overwhelming compared to other recent Pokémon titles... I have a few small disappointments with it, but I hope a couple of them will be resolved as more discoveries are made:



So yeah, all very minor complaints...

And about Falkner..


I think Falkner made his Gym team very easily

EDIT: I\'ve noticed something strange. Ikana traded me a Ralts which of course stopped obeying me after level 10. However since I beat Falkner she\'s been obeying me fine... And usually it\'s not until the 2nd Gym leader that you get all Pokémon to lvl 30 obeying you.

Maybe they tweaked it a bit?

I\'m just happy that Kanto is more \'complete\' than it was in GSC.


Now, to get my pkmn a few levels up and beat Falkner...

EDIT: I really like the look of the first gym.
EDIT2: CYNDA evloved into Quilava!! Falkner stands no chance now.

Some good news, and what will probably be the last major discovery of the game:

Her map sprite looks so cool... x3 Those things are really the main things I wanted to do, so I\'m gonna stop playing. Not entirely, but nowhere near as often. I\'ve had a good enough tryout, now I want the English version!!

I\'ve gone a little bit overboard and now have 6 badges. Just defeated Jasmine and caught the red Gyrados.

I\'ve even traded over my Scizor and Metang from Diamond to help out as I couldn\'t be bothered to catch and train some more pokemon. Plus I thought that I\'d train some of my english pokemon if I\'m gonna play through this game.

I don\'t think I can stop myself playing. The english versions are too far away. By the time they get here, I\'ll be ready to start all over again.

It's looking likely that we'll get the Jirachi download aswell if this continues.

I just hope they do the same for Arceus.

I wonder when they'll make the Azure Flute needed to catch Arceus available? Not even Japan has had it yet.

I just got Platinum and the question, as always, is Piplup or Turtwig?

They already did via a GAME store event, didn't you have one near you? That's where I got my Shaymin from (which now rests on my Platinum cartridge so I might go get another )

There was one 'near' but it just happened to fall on a day that I was unable to make it.

Those events are only ever at about 8-10 locations across the whole of the UK so the majority of Diamond and Pearl users probably didn't get the chance to own a Shaymin. D and P can also accept Wi-Fi events so there's no reason for them to not to put the ticket up.

I've got Platinum so it's no problem for me, but it seems almost like they're no longer bothered with D/P and expect everyone to upgrade to Platinum.

I\'m not sure if those items can be activated through WiFi in D/P, mainly because the Jirachi event was all 3 games no problem, yet it\'s the only WiFi event that D/P have done so far.

We\'ll have to wait and see I guess. For one thing it\'s another bonus of owning Platinum, but maybe D/P users will get another chance towards the end of the gen.

By the way, I sorted out my router and got my own legit Shaymin for the first time! It was incredibly easy to catch too.

EDIT @ Snitchy: Not sure on that one, Empoleon\'s part Steel gives it a great defense against most types, but Torterra\'s part Ground makes it beastly with moves like Earthquake. Personally I always ditch Torterra pretty early on, so I would go with Piplup. Part Steel loses weakness to Grass but gains weakness to fighting and ground.

Yeah I'm a water guy, except for emerald and silver in which I chose fire both times (Typhlosion is a beast)

I did the Shaymin event aswell, i've got a problem though I cant access route 224, I havnt got the national dex yet, how do you get it its been ages since i played these, i've completed the pokemon league, do i have to see every sinnoh region pokemon to unlock the new one? I REALLY cant be arsed doing that if thats what it is, i missed the darkrai event does anyone know of a different way to get it please?

I just got Platinum, and I have to say, I think Emerald is still one of the best games out there. I find a lack of interest in the pokemon available in Pokemon D/Pt. All of the pokemon from Emerald down however I love, especially the S/G starters Typhlosion, you get to choose a Jhoto starter when you complete the Hoenn Pokedex. That was the best part I think plus all of the legendaries and wild Pokemon, I find all of this quite strange, don't you?

WRONG. There's already been Jirachi events ages ago. To get Darkrai, you could always find someone with an Action Replay and "get" the member card. No one would blame you, and it's technically legit.

The next event will probably be Arceus. I remember them doing the same thing with Darkrai before, always showing a new fun fact about it every few weeks until they finally released him in those 2 events.

And yeah, see every Pokemon in Sinnoh, including the secret one in the book in the Mansion below Hearthome.

grr thats too annoying, ill just move the items over to diamond if i can and do it that way instead, oh okay i never said i was right :s i said i think, i dont wanna action replay. I'll take these games serious again in the next gen theres way to many this time around, too many different factors to get them all, its just an inconvenience, hopefully next time around everything will be wifi including all the events, thatll save being japanese 11 and a nintendo fan to get one pokemon half way around the world

U.S. ARCEUS EVENT ANNOUNCED.

The Arceus will come in a Cherish Ball, will hold a Rowap Berry, and will know Judgment, Roar Of Time, Spacial Rend, and Shadow Force.

Tell us it's Level 1 and my brains will a'splode.

I heard it is level one. That will make for some serious EV training. ^_^

On a lighter note, I just got Mystery Dungeon Blue to go with my Mystery Dungeon Red. I'm a Bulbasaur this time. That, and I just RAPED Zapdos with my Cyndaquil buddy, and the newly recruited Growlithe and Nidoran Male. Linking Leech Seed and Sleep Powder is EPIC WIN.

WiFi Events for HeartGold and SoulSilver have been announced, a directly downloadable Mew like the Jirachi download, and an item that gets you....



Obviously Japan only for now...

The Mew is also gonna be available on Diamond, Pearl and Platinum early next year in Japan. Fingers crossed for a Celebi wifi giveaway also.

Lets hope that the item that unlocks the catchable Arceus event is given away aswell. Why add it to the game if they're never gonna let people play it?
