Pokemon with real time battles? (locked)

Pokémon Ranger and I believe Mystery Dungeon are both Real Time.

That, right there, would be perfect!

It would rock! A 3D Mistery Dungeon, a ToS look alike [in playing terms], a Knights Of The Old Republic style...they are all good examples.

The old formula should stay on the handhelds. With Miyamoto they could make a great game or a ratter dissapointing one.

But hey, failure is the key to success right? Nintendo and the Pokémon Co. should try don't u guys think? Even if they fail some of us would see we were wrong all along and they should keep the "old spice".

i be wanting this for a long time fights now are way to slow and pokemon speed have next to useless

Dunno, I think it'd just lose the strategy and end up as a button mashing fest. Keep as is please.

Ranger is real-time but Mystery Dungeon is turn-based exploration/battle.

What if they made a kind of a Gauntlet-style 3D Mystery Dungeon. They did it for...well, something else...and was pretty fun.

I'd be first in line to buy that.

The whole overall feel of Gaunlet, combined with the fun and colors of the Pokemon series, would make for one kick-ass adventure.

1.I don't agree with us being able to get our pokemon stolen, as that would not only be BS but make our game harder (unless we had the ability to win them back upon victory)
2. Why stop there? Why not make getting all you 6 party members KOed a game over?
3. I like this idea.

The pokemon franchise really needs to evolve

I agree with Sprite, I would like to see a 3-D pokemon game but maybe as a spin-off title. The problem is the developper would have to be extremely devoted to creating such a title. I think it would be cool to run around as pokemon and see other pokemon's interacting with each other.

Although this would probably never happen.
A Pokemon MMO would be epic.
In a way it would be just like the cartoon.

A better way to imitate the cartoon would be CoOp with 2-something below 20 players. That way you could trave with groups of other trainers without the whole \"LFG 2 TAYK ON ODDISH IN THE 20BILLIONTH TAYK ON ODDISH MISSION\" crap.

Its been over 10years since the original games were released (I think). Its not going to happen despite how much we want it to. If it was going to happen they should trial it on the PC with someone like Blizzards help and see if they can get it going. But they aint going to do that. An MMO would have been everyones dream i think when we were younger...I\'ve fell out of love with the series now. Especially after Diamond/Pearl...Look at GTA: CTW..just not acceptable. And i know i shouldn\'t compare two totally different games but meh. Hope it does happen but can\'t see it. It will be dead within 5 years.

We got both ranger and mystery dungeon, so they are willing to mix it up a bit (even if they are spin offs) real time battles are the next big step.

Did we not talk about the whole 20 people per server thing, it would just make looking for more people thing even harder!

Which is why it won't be on servers, you'll connect to these people directly. You can't honestly believe Nintendo would ever make a kid's MMO of all things. The amount of censorship involved would be astronomical.

The way i see it happening will be in an MMO style of Fashion, where you run around the world with other trainers and when you get attacked in the wild, FF12 or FFX screen transition to pokeballs flying out, then either FFX turn based system or a diablo type gameplay structure.

what about a melee/brawl style game, but purely pokemon, where you could customize what buttons unleashed which attacks etc.

Out of battle, perhaps more of a 3d world, like a *normal* video game?

i agree, but i think controlling Pokemon in battle real-time would be something like Rogue Galaxy or Kingdom Heart of PS2, because Final Fantasy XII is not full real-time rpg

and i think it is unlikely that gamefreak do this, because is not cost effective for them, and they are not interested in their customers, only money.

How cool would it be to have a 3rd person type game in which you control a pokemon with a controller? As in, have moves set to certain buttons, and be able to combine as you polease, as well as some other things like grabbing the opposing pokemon and holding it there (as can be seen in some of the Sinnoh League Victors Sinnoh League battles in the anime) say you were controlling a pikachu, you could jump up and then use quick attack to gain some height, and then go down with force at the opposing pokemon using Volt Tackle. I would play that for days on end <3
