Update, Nov 2012: As of now, this is my current record, played in 50Hz mode.

This is for all you Star Fox Adventures owners out there.

Do you remember the Test of Strength in LightFoot Village? The one where you had to mash the A button and push Musclefoot into the pit?

Well I quite fancy myself as a good button masher and wondered if anyone has got a time faster than 4.35 (now 4.29 on 50Hz) seconds here.

I'm trying to look around the internet for people who have gotten a really quick time in this mini game. I'm faster than the few people that I've heard from so far, but am wondering if anyone here has got quicker than me.

I'm still waiting on people's replies at Speed Demos Archive, so I thought I'd ask here too. I want to go for the record so I thought I'd try and compare with others.

If you don't know your time, put your game in and check! Or why don't you try beating my time if you're not as quick?

If I realise my time is a record contender then I might think about recording it for SDA.

Cheers all!

Havn't played in ages. If I have time I'll see what my high score is Smilie and maybe try to beat it.

I'll have you know I can button tap A faster than a Turbo controller can (sometimes) Smilie

Although I never managed to get the Gold racket in Mario Tennis GBC.

Great! If you're as good as you say you are, it'll be great to have somebody to challenge against!

I just hope you have a save file before the point of no return. If you remember, you'll know that you cannot leave Krazoa Palace right before the final boss fight.

I actually thought I had a save file before this point on one of my memory cards. But to my amazement, I checked my save data yesterday only to find all three of my saves were at the point of no return!

So I started a new game and rushed to the LightFoot Village Test of Strength part of the game. I spent about 5 hours yesterday getting there. But it was good to do it. SFA is easy and I can fly through it in no time. It's still fun to go through again quickly, and it looks gorgeous.

I saw my brother play parts of it, he borrowed it from a friend. I've never played it.

Are there speed records for everything?
Cool I might see if theres anything I can beat...

*checks*
WTF!?
Zelda: Twilight Princess, The Legend of for GCN/Wii (4:47:xx)
under 5 hours!?

Super Mario Brothers is the one I come closest to - they have 5 minutes...I Take about 6....All the other records are insane! Resi 4 2 hours...

Avoid Games Like the Plague, productivity++

SDA is the perfect place to look for the world records in speed running. And it's growing all the time as it's getting more and more popular.

Some of the times on there are insane. But every single one is backed up with video proof.

I'm having a hard time looking for SFA LightFoot Test of Strength fastest times on the internet. Still no reply on the SDA forums.

If anyone has SFA, please check your times or challenge mine!

SFA could've been a much better game that it sadly turned out to be.

dangnabbit i got 4.43 and my friend got 4.39 you win

Wow, so close!

I might've tried if half my games weren't still up me old house.

Star Fox Adventures. Now there's a game I'd forgoten about.

I loved it. Didn't get caught up in the hype, see. Smilie

Wow. Congrates to you all. Smilie Ive watched my bro try for an hour or so JUST to beat it . . . he does not have quick fingers Smilie

Wow, forgot all about this thread I made. I'm going to go on a hunt to see if anyone's got faster than my time yet.

I think someone just got this game and announced it in Latest Purchases.

But I remember this test. Man, was it a pain. Still wasn't as much of a pain as the shooter on top of the pterodactyl. I remember I gave up on the game because of that. And then I replayed the game over and got past it easily, strangely enough.

It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path.

Yeah, that was a random needless difficult part to the game. There were a few frustrating moments in it. But overall, a pretty easy game which I enjoyed flying through numerous times. I found it very fun.

I need to get this game again! D:
My brother sold it, among a load more of MY GameCube games.. without my permission, just because he was short on cash, asshole.

Glad he doesn't sell my shit anymore though, I would kill him.

I've just had a quick look on ebay. You can get it for less than a fiver inc. p+p. Absolute bargain. Makes me feel bad for my parents paying full whack as a Christmas present all those years ago Smilie

Didn't get caught up in the hype

Neither did I, still thought it was rubbish.

Guilty as charged. Smilie

I might replay it eventually. Good game, but was never too keen on it personally.

Lol, I paid full price for it too. May buy it some time, still got a bunch of other games to play through before I think about replaying any games though. xP

I love the game. Smilie The graphics are still to-this-day incredible and the soundtrack is wonderful! Smilie The game is a lot of fun. I don't think it's right how some people use the fact that it's not a traditional Star Fox game as an excuse for not liking it. For a spin-off, it's one of the best spin-offs I've ever played. Smilie

^Absolutely. I've just asked again about getting a speed recording up for the Test of Strength minigame and they seem like it could work. I've had to start a new game once again because my game files are all past the point of no return (ironic how, after having to do this two years ago after reading the first post, I'm doing it again right now).

I think I can get to the Test of Strength game fairly quickly. Perhaps in one night, so I'm gonna see how far I can get tonight with it. Then I'll need some video recording equipment, so may have to look into that...

But yeah, the game's graphics are some of the best there was for last gen, and this came out in the first year of the GameCube too. It's miles better than a lot of Wii games. It's as if devs can't be arsed to put the effort in at times. The fur textures were done brilliantly, and the water effects are beautiful too. Sadly doesn't look as good on my widescreen LCD, but still lovely all the same.

Great soundtrack too. Found myself humming along to many of these tracks.

Ahh I remember getting this game for Xmas in 2002, Gamecube had a pretty baran line up from what I remember and that was the only decent looking game at the time Smilie

It was allright, great graphics but meh, not one I have any desire to replay.

Just got to the Test of Strength. Came sooner than I expected. Took me a little over 5 hours to get there.

Just done it three times, and got 4.53 every single time. Looks like I've lost it ever so slightly haha.

Made in 2008. Revived in 2010. Re-revived in 2012. Can't believe this is 4 years old now.

Seems like a good time to bump it again, though, since we've had the Dino Planet MIA. I actually tried beating my old time again last week, but couldn't do it. Not quite sure how I got 4.35 seconds. I really wanted to record this as an official record attempt for Speed Demos Archive, but now I can't even match my original time!

Anyone fancy trying to beat it? Post your times.
