(Far East of Eden) Tengai Makyô II: Manji Maru (Nintendo DS)

-Music by Joe Hisaishi (Ninokuni, Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro, etc)
-Loads of famous seyuu (voice actors) for the characters.
-Developed by Red Entertainment who would later develop the Sakura Wars/Sakura Taisen series.

That's the PC-Engine version, but I bought the DS version, because it's region free and portable. The only differences in the DS version is that the backdrops during battles look a bit nicer, the redbook audio cd music tracks are a bit more compressed, and the PSG music tracks sound MUCH better on DS because the quality there equals the compressed audio CD tacks, making the whole game soundtrack sound more balanced. And there's the inclusion of touch screen controls as well, but they don't feel right so I'll just stick to the buttons.

@Kafei

It looks very cool, like the pixel art and chip music.

The chip music was replaced by "compressed" orchestrated pieces in the DS version though. But the game remains very enjoyable nonetheless Smilie.

Well, I guess it's official, my spirit is weak, and my poor PS3 will be shattered by the time I'm done with it. Smilie

On the topic of latest purchases... The envelope supposed to contain my copy of Tengai Makyô II on DS arrived in the post today...

... and it was empty Smilie. Way to lose 25€ !!!!!

And the postal service said there was nothing they could do because the sender didn't use a tracking system (when I paid for this service in the shipping costs might I add).

This is going to be one lovely day...

That sucks, luckily I've never had this happen. The worst I've had happen is not recieving a game from Amazon, which they didn't refund me or anything. (I think it was the Royal Mail's fault)

Then another time when I purchased something from an Amazon seller, they told me it had been dispatched. I waited like 2 weeks, no sign of it. I decided to email them telling them I hadn't recieved my goods yet. Like a week later they replied saying they would dispatch another copy of it and it should be with me in the next couple of days. It didn't arrive, so I emailed them again and they then had the nerve to tell me they were all out of stock of said item when they apparently "dispatched" 2 copies already. So, I pretty much kicked up about it and got a refund. Neither of the copies showed up, if I might add.

Where did you order your game from?

ebay. It was an auction which no else had noticed and the game has become super rare over the years so I had no other choice since I found nowhere else to buy it from.

EDIT : Also the guy billed me 8€ for shipping and actually only paid 4.50€. I asked why he billed me that much when he paid less and replied "That's for the time ii took me to take this to the post office. My time is money". The NERVES !

Yeah, eBay can be pretty dodgy. I've had a couple of friends who have had some problems with it. Never tried it myself, as I've never seen the use and I hate the whole bidding on things. I know there are some items which can be bought at a set price, but I'd rather not take the risk. It's a matter of just finding the right sellers and trusting them. Which can be pretty awkward at times.

That's ridiculous how he charged you so much for shipping, considering it cost him almost half that. Especially since the box was empty... >.<

Yo Phoe, you better tell me how P3 is compared to P4.

Really sorry for you, Kafei. I've had a couple of dodgy ones off ebay but you live and learn. Usually is best not to order from Asian territories that aren't Japan, I've found.
