Anime/Manga Fan Thread

Uh, you guys know that the official Viz subs and Horrible subs are the same thing, right? Horrible subs just rip Viz\'s official releases from crunchyroll. ^_^;

I don\'t really like Horrible/Viz subs, they reverse names and omit honourifics among other annoying things...but unfortunately there isn\'t really anyone else for Naruto or Hitman Reborn.

Well since everyone else seems to be displaying their manga, i guess i'll show my mountainous collection

So with the advent of FMA 2, did anyone watch Gundam 00? I thought it was quite good overall as a series (definitely better then Gundam Seed Destiny) thought it was a bit tacky at the end.

I finally started the Tsukihime Anime.

Its pretty close to the actual plot, with only the usual literary ramblings, prolonged descriptions, and some minor events removed. Sadly, the dub(which had some fairly famous voice actors) torrent was barren of seeds and leeches so I had to stick with subs...

I\'m pretty satisfied so far!

EDIT: D\'OH! I should\'ve known that if they made the episodes mkv\'s with the english subtitles then of course they have the English dub included!

NOTE: The anime doesn\'t quite match up to the orignal artwork, imo. Still like it though!

EDIT: This thread hasn\'t seen any action for about a week, so i\'ll post a question. Can the discussion also include visual novels?

A 2007 article in The Star (Malaysia) states that more than ten film companies in the United States expressed interest in creating a remake.<6> Vertigo Entertainment is currently set to develop an American Death Note remake. Zac Efron is rumored to play Light Yagami as he has shown intrest in the role and said he was in a upcoming anime/manga adaption , However he may of been speaking about the rumored Full Metal Panic movie which he also rumored to star in.

Granted that this is still a merely rumour, I don't think it will happen. The dreaded Battle Royale remake still hasn't surfaced. And the whole Zac Efron thing is just speculation, as he is now one of the most famous faces in Hollywood for adolescent girls. Although if he was Light, I would get sick. No matter how much he looks like Light from the manga, he's a sickening actor. Death Note Musical - Ryuk's a cuddly bear...

I haven't read/watched anime/manga for a little while now actually.

Damn, I thought my "Death Note Musical" quip was original...

I was watching the extras of L: Change the WorLd, and I must say, for an actor who plays his character perfectly, Kenichi Matsuyama has no charisma whatsoever! He's so blank. Even when saying funny stuff his expression doesn't change. Even his co-actress says he's like a robot off set, he's L in real life too.

I started watching Naruto, great over the top music!

Yep, we here in Dubland just finished the Bount attack Soul Society Arc. This new season seems like a much nicer change from the last one.

Oh well bleach and naruto stopped in kind of cool down periods, so i can wait a week, but i'm furious that my local bookstore ran out of copies of shaman king 4, the showdown was just about to start.....

It's a good time to read it because it has recently beren picked up again. it had like a 3 year break.

YAY!! Code Geass Dubs hae started again, finally the last 8 episodes with no subs

I hope thst if the Death Note live action movie comes out that they get someone other than Zac Efron to play Light. He just would not go well and he will probally have fellings for Ryuk. They should have someone that is really good at playing a teenage antihero.

There are already Japanese live-action Death Note movies. So we can just watch those, and if the Amercanised one happens, we can just pretend it doesn't exist.

^^^ The Japanese live action ones are pretty poor.
