This is a bit old news but I only found it today - so I don't know if it's been posted before...

But a 13 year old boy hung himself in a tantrum after his father didn't let him play his new Wii game that he'd bought with his birthday money, since his sister was using the Wii at the time.

o.o;; would you kill yourself if you weren't allowed to play video games?

Yeah I'd probably kill myself if my mother of 49 came said to her son of 22 "Martin, you cannot play Halo on your PlayStation!". I'd kill myself because I'd be so pissed off at how she automatically calls every console a "PlayStation" because she's so clueless about gaming. I mean- Halo, on PlayStation! Good grief! I'd kill myself in protest.

Repost.

That kid would have grown up to be a keyboard warrior like certain members on this site, so it\'s probably for the best.

Having suffered a death in my household due to suicide over something much more serious, I think this kid can and should go to hell.

Unless of course, the Father physically beat the child prior banning from Wii, then suicide is understandable.

Yeah I've seen this before.

Also a hard question since I'm an Adult, but no... Since I'm also an Atheist.

...

And still no even when I was Christian since "There are no video games in the afterlife" would mean I'd never enjoy video games again after death.

If anything I'd like to live long & healthy enough to play the next N64.

I sold my soul to Sony for a PS3...

I'm still playing the first N64.

I wouldn\'t ever commit suicide no matter what. I feel that the boy must have been spoilt rotten or, had mental problems due to constant mental abuse by his family. But then, I suffer from that, and i\'m fine.Smilie

Thats hardly fair he's was only 13 years of age, I doubt he thought about it very much.

Yeah I don't think him not being allowed to play Wii was not even close to being the reason that caused him to commit suicide. If he was ready to kill himself because of his love for games, surely he would play his Wii behind his parents backs.

Or killed his sister which would have been the smart thing to do.

If he'd hung his sister he would have had at least a bit of time to play the Wii.

It could have been lots of bullying and abuse and the Wii was the last straw... D: Still all suicide other than when you're in extreme pain with an incurable disease is really dumb imo...

If I didn't have games to play I'd get an imagination for a few years like back when my MegaDrive was banned as a toddler.]

For like. 2 or 3 years.

Good times.

Then I played Sonic 2 again.

Great time.

What? So he couldn't wait an hour or so to play his game?? I dunno, it seems a bit fishy to me.

Unless it was just attention seeking that went horribly wrong?

I just completed pokemon yellow! 151 pokemon seen and caught.
Surely that's worth a star?

This pic foretold his doom-

If that was really the case, I would have no sympathy for that boy. Although, the chance of someone overreacting as extremely as he did is next to none, there must have been other factors, even if the parents didn't realise.

I wouldn't even believe that someone would ever do that, let alone do it myself.

It actually scares me sometimes when I hear stories like this, makes me wonder what this world is coming toSmilie

Cubed3 Member

Is he actually hanging himself in the above pic? I can see a rope-like line behind his head.

I can't believe how harsh some of you are.

The boy was 13, he's hardly going to be rational enough to look at the bigger picture. As others have said he could well have had other problems but calling him an idiot, telling him to 'go to hell' and laughing about the whole matter is just plain sick. Certain members here should be ashamed.

I really think the whole reason the Wii part was added in there was so anti-video-game people could prance around telling people that video games are bad and that this is what happens when someone plays them.

Cubed3 Member

I can't beleive that someone would do this after not not being allowed to play his Wii. There had to more to it than that. I could never take my own life let alone that I could

JESUS CHRIST WTF.

WTF

WTF

i personally think the school should be held accountable by providing the tie and therefore being part of an assisted suicide.

I\'m goin to \"hell\" anyway so I might as well laugh at other peoples misfortune. I don\'t blame the child I blame the parents if they were smart enough they would have noticed that there was something seriously wrong with their child.

It\'s always the parents fault........
