I am going to the event at the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane, it\'s next to the Rhythm Factory and Cafe 1001. I have no interest at all in a career in the industry but will still find it fascinating none the less to see what companies are there and meet fellow artists with a interest in gaming.

Video Games Live is on at the Royal Festival Hall for the second year running. I\'ve been lucky to go to everyone so far. Tickets available via the South Bank ticket office.

There are two shows this year.

Last year I found myself playing the very latest Q4 games that had not even been released yet. I also got the opportunity to play some of the very first video games ever created, and some of the most iconic, many of which I had never had the chance to play before. It was of course very cool for a lover of retro gaming.

They also had a series of lectures on videogame production and the history of them at the Science Museum. Normally I find lectures very dull affairs, as I am sure many others do, I can barely stand the lectures I attend at the National Gallery for my private study. These on the other hand were a revelation. I have never been to lectures and listened so attentively and not wanted them to end. I found it all fascinating. I learnt so much about the industry and the design processes involved in making videogames. It made me think about games in a way that I had never done previously. I have greater appreciation of them as a creative medium and hold many more in high regard than I had previously.

Anyone going to Video Games Live on Friday?

Managed to nab some ticks!

Really wanted to go, but not this year I guess. I didn't realise how soon it was on and I didn't have a way of getting to London easily or staying anywhere.

One of my good friends is going, so as you can imagine I'm insanely jealous.

I'm going to this and this on Tuesday.

VGL is by far the geekiest thing I'll have ever attended.

Would it be more geeky than the London MCM/Anime Expo?

VGL=awesome, when i went it was great. I even got a zelda T-shirt XD.
