been keeping a eye on this game 3D Dot Game Heroes it look so good in play XD I cant wait

3D Dot Game Heroes

When what is essentially a 3D NES game is more jaw dropping than half of the "realistic" games we get these days, you know something has gone terribly wrong. Oh the irony...

Now I want a PS3 more desperately than before. Looks like it plays like a Zelda game

That video does not do it justice, fucking horrible compression. It reminds me of the old Zelda games. Plus you can create your own hero, which means this'll be day one for me. Or an import if they don't localise it.

PS3 firmware 3.01 up aka fixing anything wrong with games that 3.00 made?

Star Ocean: The Last Hope International, the game will be hitting the PS3 February 4, 2010 and priced at ¥8,190 (US$90). The game features reworked menu screens and a tweaked battle system with auto-targeting. SO4: International also features English and Japanese voice acting options. It really is international!

Isn't that just a 3D link to the past? I mean, even the opening story is the same. And they have Tektites, and the boulders coming down from what looks like death mountain. . the music also sounds similar.

Oh well, guess someone had to do a good clone for once.

It's just an old school RPG clone. It's style is unique and very appealing.

Finished Uncharted and it only froze on me once. Apart from that I haven\'t had any other problems with this firmware update.

It\'s a great game, I don\'t know why I took so long to buy it.

I found 31 of the 60 treasure, so I\'ll probably have another play through to look for them.

Plus the boomerang and similar looking dungeons. Looks like a complete Zelda rip-off. The graphical style is intriguing though, might look into it when I get a PS3.

Thanks for that, I'm updating right now. I still think the whole thing is dodgy. Apparently 3.01 is the 'increase compatibility with PS3 games'. Shouldn't a PS3 be 100% compatible with PS3 games? Sony gaffed-up big time. I fear (even with 3.01) that other old games will be effected, and no-one has noticed yet. After all, Uncharted is one of the PS3's premier games, so it makes sense people noticed faults with that. What if other incompatibilities have gone unchecked?

It's taking quite a while to install (like 5 minutes or something), so it's not a tiny little patch. Seems 3.00 was rushed to meet the launch of the slim. Why couldn't they just wait two fucking weeks? The old firmware it came loaded with was fine. Idiots.

One of the main problems with Sonys firmware updates is that rather than just patching it, you need to redownload the entire thing everytime, with the size increasing on each new release

I think the main problem is that they put out glitchy firmware that bricks games, not the way it's distributed.

For those who didn\'t preorder Uncharted, you can get a code from IGN who have 14000 to give away

My internet seems to be having a bit of slowtime or something because it won't sign me into PSN.

Killzone 2 came today, played a bit of campaign and online. Online is quite fun and seems to be alot better than the campaign.

Am I the only one who thinks that Dot Heroes game looks positively shit? What exactly is impressive about it?

How exactly is blocked out characters some amazing original style? It looks horrid.

You are the only one then, or maybe not, few others have shown dislike.

I don't think it looks shit. But I don't think it looks that great either. I think it could be interesting, but it looks like it's just doing what Zelda did 20 years ago.

I could be wrong.

Agreed. This one is particularly excellent, but Sony have always known how to make great adverts. Marketing is one of their strongest points.

It's such a shame that Nintendo and MS are too bothered by the whole "community casual" thing to make funny ads anymore.

The only good one Microsoft made was the one for the original Xbox.
