PS3 came today =]

Just set up my PSN account, but I don't think I have any online games yet. Just started Mirror's Edge. Looks good, but I really think I need an HDTV to get the most out of this machine. Wish the post-Christmas sales would hurry up!

I really want FIFA 10 now too D:

I was looking at the price of HDMI cables, and the official Sony one goes for £15 or more. On ebay there are non-officials for just a few quid. Is it better to buy the Sony one?

Just get the cheapest one. I've done really long posts on why it doesn't matter and that gold leads are total bullshit, can't be bothered to re-type it all. Just trust me - the only thing that is important is if it's long enough. I got some heap of shit GAME own-brand HDMI lead for my PS3 and it looks pin-sharp with beautiful colours.

Any HDMI cable that is branded as being "For PS3" or anything along those lines is going to do the business for you, and will be compatible with full-range colour mode and all that.

My HDMI is some cheap brand from argos, cost me like £5 and have no problems with it.

If I recall, the only time you need to spend a great deal on a HDMI is if you have it going a greater distance.

Are the water tools free?

( Edited 16.12.2009 00:05 by wAyNe - sTaRT )

Cubed3 Member

no they in the pack like MGS but you can still play levels with out the pack its if you want to have them for your levels

haveing been in the water beta this is a must buy for me not only for the levels but i want the tools too

Cubed3 Member

I haven't touched LBP for months, now.

Cubed3 Member

The water tools are in the Pirates pack? That's lame. Saying that, I think I'm done with LBP. Creating levels can be fun but playing them? Boring. Nintendo should hurry up with a Mario Level editor.

I seriously like the sound of this. Why hasn't this been done yet? Have you seen those insanely amazing Super Mario World user-created levels? Some of them are simply unbelievable, the way you don't even need to press anything and Mario just zips through the level in tune to some J-Pop randomness. I've played some extremely hard SMW levels too, and it seems the right thing to let people upload these levels onto the Wii somewhere to let us download and play them.

Thanks for reminding me how awesome that idea was, Wayne.

Awesome. I can FINALLY FINALLY play FFVIII. Oh how I have waited for this day, the only mainseries FF game I have never played. I just hope it's not too long for us PALians.

The only problem now is that my SD Card is so tiny. Smilie There's not enough room for both FFVII and FFVIII...

I've been the same. If they gave you a lot more of the stuff to begin with, then I think I'd be inclined to make my own levels, but to collect it all throughout the single player game has put me off.

The main selling point is to create your own levels and share them with the world, but you can't do that. Unless you play through the single player game collecting all the stuff, which becomes very tedious, in my opinion.

What are the chances, just as i start pulling out my old square ps1 collection to run through again, they start appearing on the store.

<_< Having such greats as FF7 and 8 come to the PSN is awesome, but doesn\'t it piss you guys off that they are only available here in the UK with borders and slowdown?

I just wouldn\'t feel like wanting to download PS1 games on the PS3 when we\'re getting poorer quality versions of these games =/

Maybe I\'m being stuckup. Well, maybe I\'d download some if I didn\'t have a modded PSP which can play NTSC PS1 games. But I dunno, I just feel like we\'re getting ripped off.

Honestly? I have FFVII on PS1 and on PSP, and even though it's supposed to run slightly faster of PSP it doesn't feel like much of a difference.

Maybe it just doesn't matter as much with RPGs as it does with action games and platformers, y'know?
Still it's kinda embarassing that Sony are being just as bad with emulation as Nintendo are and not giving everyone NTSC quality games.

Hmm, I agree with you I think. It's been a while since I played the PS1 versions of FF7 and the others, but I think I've tried both NTSC and PAL versions of them on my PSP and I don't recall a great different in FF7.

Perhaps it's not as big of a step down as I imagine it to be, but just the thought of it makes me shake my head. I don't think I'll ever get over how lazy certain developers are being lately, Nintendo included.

You've not played it yet?? Smilie You'll have to tell me what you think after playing it. FF8 was my first FF game so is very dear to me. Smilie

I will, but while we wait I don't need to have played it to sarcastically tell you I think Squall is an interesting and completely original character Smilie

Totally agree with you. Another thing for me is the myriad downloadable packs available for it. It\'d cost me something like £20 to download them all. Even though I have the full game, it feels like a demo because of the reams upon reams of premium DLC available for it rendering it rather incomplete.

That\'s how it feels to me, anyway.
