Hi dere chaps. I got a PS3 for Christmas! ZGOMYES!
So I\'ll be dropping in here a lot to ask questions and things. Right now I\'m updating my PSP because I can\'t remember my PSN account name ._.

First of all, Audio and Video problems... Obviously an HDMI cannot go from the PS3 into BOTH the TV and Surround Sound, but otherwise I\'m stuck with the fucking basic scart they include in the package (even the 360 comes with Component Cables, wtf!) so does anyone know a way to get the HDMI to go into the TV but also get sound from the SurroundSound (DVD Player)? Not expecting an answer to that one really...

Also even though I\'m using an HDMI cable, it says the highest setting the PS3 can reach is 1080i? Wat?
Stupid confusing non-Nintendo consoles.
I\'m thinking I might need to buy some more Component Cables *sigh*

Nevermind, all sorted Smilie
But the font is really tiny :/ Apparantly it doesn\'t support 1080p because my Telly is too small Smilie

EDIT: My PSN account is SuperLink9! I share it with my brother (No point paying for PSN stuff twice right?)
Add meeeee!! I\'ll play LBP \'n\' shit with ya Smilie
PS. How do I get my Portable ID smaller? :/

^Unnecessary space usage ^
My 360 Gamercard is nice \'n\' compact. I won\'t be sigging my Portable ID unless I can make it smaller Smilie

Hmm, not sure how to edit the size of your portable ID. Wish I knew that too. I just added mine to my sig. Congrats on getting a PS3, I'm new to the system too. Had it about a week or two now.

So if anyone here fancies hitting me up on PSN, my ID is Azuardo.

I've been downloading/installing stuff all morning... PSHome took ages to download (it's not even very good, Miis/Avatars are much more fun in general aswell) and now I have to install 7 LBP updates before I can play it!
It's taking aaaaaageeeees. Smilie

Yeah, I was like that when I first started up too. I too found Home to be a bit lacking. The physics engine on the character models is unreal though. You can customise their facial structure and features so much. In the graphics and customisation sense it's great. But there isn't a lot to do which makes it useless. Pool can be fun, but I haven't even managed to get a game of bowling going yet either. Always seems to be too many people in the way or something. Maybe I'm doing it wrong lol.

Got your invite SuperLink xD

I've just got one because my brother got a PS3 today, so I probably won't be online much, if at all.

Btw, does anyone know if you can sign in to two accounts at once?

Home doesn\'t really seem like my kind of thing. Seems like a poor man\'s Sims or something, I dunno. I would have preferred cute/crazy avatars.

Also I gotta say the dlc/avatars selection is really lacking compared to the Ecksbawks\'.

PS, I\'ve added my PSN ID to my sig incase noone has noticed. It replaced my Gamertag since I have the Gamercard in my sig anyway.

EDIT@ Stulaw
If you\'re going to be buying stuff from PSN, you should probably just share an account so you don\'t have to download stuff twice.
Not sure about the account thing, try it out I guess. I\'d try it but these downloads are taking their sweet time :/

I'm not planning on downloading stuff from PSN since it's my brother's PS3, so I guess I'll be fine with that, but turning on a second controller controls the same account on the home screen, and it has to sign out of one to get on another :/.

Hmm, noticed the smaller ID tag by PK above me. Perhaps that's the US version?

I know you can make ours smaller by not showing your trophies, but PK's have his trophies in it too and it's still small =/

Yeah, it\'s the US version...only, it doesn\'t update as often.

NOTE: PM me if anybody wants to exchange.

You won't need to download things twice, all content is shared between all the accounts on the PS3 anyway, just so long as the account which originally downloaded it is left on there

Nevermind then. I thought it would be like on the PSP, where every PSP using a different PSN account would have to buy things from PSN seperately. Which is why both my and my brother's PSPs use my PSN account.

Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear Solid series of stealth interspersed cutscenes, has stated that such is his admiration for Modern Warfare 2, he feels motivated to make a return to the PS3 for his subsequent games.

He commented to the official PlayStation rag that:

“After seeing Modern Warfare 2, I feel like I want to use all the modern specs!”
Doubtless he is champing at the bit to make even more extravagant cutscenes.

Regarding his then unexpected decision to release Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker on the PSP, he has given a variety of rationales to various sources:

“I wanted some young people to play MGS too. In Japan especially, the most popular hardware with this audience was the PSP.”

“With portable gaming you can play anywhere, and get right into the game at any time, play against your friends or with them in coop. In trains, cars and cafes, you can enjoy it on the move.

Also, with music, video, phones and photos all available in portable format, surely it’s inconvenient not to have it as a portable.”

“Nowadays you can play games anywhere; I wanted to realise a Metal Gear game which was portable too.”

“With the PS3 there are a lot of parents who won’t let their children have one, so there are lots of middle and high-schoolers who can’t play at home. Even with a game like this which is anti-war and anti-nuclear, kids will just be told ‘It’s a game with guns where you shoot people, isn’t it?’ and that will be the end of it.

I wanted to take into account players in this kind of environment by choosing the PSP.”

So he wants to bypass parental consent, and give kids MGS games on PSP so their parents won't check it? Also - what's with all the question marks? I reckon it's not you, but C3's inability to show any special characters. My bullet points always turn into little question marks on C3, as do pound signs.

!"£$%^&*()_+·

Just checking the special characters along the numbers.

Some "quotation marks" seems to be having problems lately.
Also I wonder if Kojima means that 360 support is over before it started?
PS. I hardly liked the Fat Princess demo at all. No offline multiplayer either, what the fuck?

Smilie 360 was just a spin off and MS try to make it like MGS was coming to 360 nothing but PR iam sure it be a good game but its not MGS5

Fat Princess fun when you have good player but it got to point where all player on one side use to just go to other team that winning then it be like 13 vs 5 and NPC i think they fix that now but put me off

We'll see. Personally I think it'll be a bigger game than Peacewalker. It's not like the PSP can handle huge cinematic games anyway.

Seeing as Old Snake is retired, I doubt there will be an MGS5 anyway.

^^; not really think MGS2 sword gameplay

MGS5 can easy be naked snake just as MGS3 was

We don\'t know that for sure. Besides if the sword gameplay is good (unlike it was in MGS2) then it can still be a bigger better game than Peacewalker.

Naked Snake\'s already had more MGS games than Solid Snake (because let\'s face it, MGS2 wasn\'t Snake\'s game). They should give him a break.

EDIT: And yeah I know about the MGS4 ending, but he won\'t be in another game.

Metal Gear Solid 4 was ruined on PS3 with the stupid installs everytime you wanted to play a different chapter. Was there really no way for them run the game without the installs? Wasn't the 4.5GB 8 minute install at the start enough?

The game takes up 6.5GB on the hard drive. That includes all the patches for Metal Gear Online which too is ruined due to the awful Konami ID. A 360 version probably would have been much better. Sure it may have been on 2 or 3 discs and wouldn't have had super HD 7.1 surround sound quality audio but no one cares about those. Not an attack on the PS3, tis Konami who's to blame for some poor decisions though I guess the Blu-ray's slow read speeds are partly-responsible for the installs.

I would have preferred to see Peace Walker on the PS3/360.

Speaking of Metal Gear, I'd like Kojima to make a Metal Gear Rebirth similar to the original MSX games. Love both of them.Smilie

installs is a easy way to keep the game running UC2 had no installs maybe its just the way they make MGS4 at the time?

Ha all this MGS talk is making me dizzy. Peace Walker is Kojimas child, Rising he's just a producer taking the backseat. Only reason the franchise is even hitting 360 is because Konami still make the business decisions. He's a PS fanboy for the most part.

I didn't mind the installs, I ate food and called my friends in the meantime...hate Konami ID though.

Cubed3 Member

Konami had an NDA in place on teh game, and didn't want people to know what happens during the installs. When I found out what they entailed, I was very disappointed

Yeah, I recently got MGS4, and the installs suck. I don\'t even get why they\'re needed. The game doesn\'t look all that fantastic, the environments are small with repetitive textures (and some very low-res ones), etc. Then for the exact same console a game with really fucking amazing graphics and huge environments comes out with no install at all - Uncharted 2.

MGS4 is a good time, but technically-speaking, I found it to be a bit all over the place.

Edit: Anyone else got Hustle Kings on PS3? It\'s a PSN pool game. Very, very good. You can play online, and it has UK pool (called \'black ball\', for some reason).
