Crysis 2 was way too fluffy, it lost the dark Predator atmoshere of the original and felt dumbed down. And It never had a Zero G level!. That Zero G level was so awesome on PC, it looked fucking incredible, so much so that it made my heart pound like crazy, the atmosphere it created stood out as special. The Icy jungle levels after were another mind-fuck.

In fairness, I thought Crysis 2 was fucking amazing and I wouldn't have wanted a repeat of all the same old shit again. Loved the goofy storyline, loved the Hanz Zimmer soundtrack. I wouldn't have changed it in any way, really. Not there's anything wrong with the first game, but can they not just be "different" rather than "Crysis 2 sucks because it was more linear than the first one"?

i agree that having more resistance in the analog is better for driving games. but for shooters the ps3 wins in my opinion. thx for pointing outSmilie

New Vita Stats;

Out in Japan December 17th.
3-5 hours of battery life, 2200mAh (3DS one is 1800), no way to remove battery by hand. Roughly 3 hours to charge.
No memory Card or internal memory included. Prices for cards;
Memory card 4GB 2,200 yen
Memory card 8GB 3,200 yen
Memory card 16GB 5,500 yen
Memory card 32GB 9,500 yen

Didn't think the battery life would be too great, roughly on par with 3DS in 3D mode. Vita only accepts those cards, so anyone wanting to download stuff has to pay quite a bit more it seems.

Looks like it's going to cost people more than they thought.

Anyway, I got my PS3 with FF XIII, Bayonetta, MGS4 and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Loving FF XIII so far.

Ha ha! So happy right now! Smilie

"PS3 collaboration between Professor Layton developer and Spirited Away animation studio to be localized in English next year; DLC also in the works."
Full Story here

Since Disney (Pixar to be specific) handles all the voice work in localizing the Ghibli films, I wonder if they will work on this as well... If so, that would be cool. I think they did a great job with those movies.

Oh, and no word on the DS version. Smilie

Completely forgot about the hd port O.o
Been to busy being hyped for Gears 3. I guess I could pick this up as well.

I've added Martin_ and L to my friends list, can anyone else give me there PSN ID or add me if they want to?

It's Stulaw90.

Oh yeah, I only realised MGS4 was online yesterday, plus my brother's given me quite a few of his games since he doesn't have a PS3 anymore.

Got From Dust on PSN. Pretty god, though it hasn't really 'grabbed' me yet. I'm sure it will.

Mine is just Duggler657, caps and all. I haven't been around the site too long so I understand if nobody really wants to add me, but if your up for it so am I. I've been visiting long enough to know you guys are cool. Smilie (If anybody else wants to add me, that's cool too.) I'm not on PSN hardly at all lately because of classes... But that will all change when Bad company 3 comes out.

Pretty reasonable price for RE4 HD. Wouldn't mind getting it, but probably shouldn't.

Added Duggler.

What's yours Martin? I'm guessing it's your username.

Oh yeah, I remember that ID now. Thanks!

By the way, I'm thinking it would be a good idea if we put all of our PSN IDs in the first post of the topic, just so it's easier to find people and remember who they are. If everyone's cool with it, I'll edit the first post and put the names I know up there now. If you want it taken off the list or put on, just let me know.

Vita won't be region locked. Take some lessons from Sony for once, Nintendo, for Christ's sake.

Who has Carl of Duty: Black Cops, and more specifically, who's up for for some co-op Zombies? I want to do the easter egg on Shangri-La. I'd also just be up for playing any zombie level for a laugh. Fucking love Nazi Zombies. One of the best games ever made, even though it's technically not a game, but a bonus mode.

Me and a mate were doing the one on Moon (which was just released for PS3), and you finally get to see Samantha Maxis! Anyway, here's my scores. As you will see, I'm better at some than others due to personal preference. The ones where I'm 20+ are the ones I played more and got better at.

Kino der Toten - 36
"Five" - 34
Dead Ops Arcade - 16
Nacht der Untoten - 21
Verrückt - 24
Shi No Numa - 16
Der Riese - 30
Ascension - 26
Call of the Dead - 22
Shangri-La - 19
Moon - 19

My usual team consists of me and my mate Josh. We're not trying to get to #1 on the leaderboards or anything (not that that's even possible with glitchers getting into hundreds of rounds), just trying to set personal bests and do the easter eggs. So far I've only done the Call of the Dead one (which was funny as hell).

Anyone game? I wish there was a cheap way to get the game+zombie maps without having to get all the multiplayer stuff. Because technically (other than the Rezurrection pack), you're paying £11 for one zombie map. They should make Nazi Zombies a standalone game, in my opinion.

Note: I'm usually made the host, and glitching is severely frowned upon in my lobbies unless we're literally just dicking around. If we're trying to set a new record, and I spot anyone glitching, I will end the match regardless of round.

That means we could be on round 50, and nobody's score will go up. Cheaters are despised vehemently. What we usually do is allow you to glitch, leave our PlayStations once you're in a glitch "for food" or whatever. We come back a while later when you've nearly beaten your best and disconnect. I've got some hilarious messages from butt-hurt glitchers for doing that.

BREAKING NEWS: Alundra PS1 coming to PlayStation Store in Europe in October!

I'm sorry, but this is one of the best 2D top-down adventure games ever, surpassing that of Zelda at the time, and if you haven't played it you should. Least of all, any 2D Zelda fans will love this game. So glad it'll be available for many more people to experience now on PSN.

Releases in US next Tuesday at $5.99, so expect it to be about £3.99 here, which is a steal.

You're mad if you think it will be £4. $5.99 games on the US store translate to (at least) £7.99 games on the EU store. Always have, always will.

ModeratorStaff Member

I actually meant to say it will probably be about £4.99, not £3.99. Only say that because a bunch of PS1 games are just under a fiver, including Tomb Raider 2 which just came out on there at £4.79. I ain't expecting Alundra to be £7.99, but would a shame if it was. A fiver's a decent price for that one. Doesn't make any sense that $5.99 games translate to higher in £.

Is it possible to upgrade a PS3 Slim with a faster hard drive? The one that came with it seems pretty slow and it gets a little annoying having to wait at times.

Staff Member

I think you could put a 7200rpm drive inside it, atleast, that's what my mate from Uni told me.

Being standard HDDs in those I think you could. However, I doubt this would change anything since the firmware is probably hard-coded to load things from the HDD at the speed of the original HDD that comes in the console (since I doubt that they endorse players changing their HDD themselves, because of the risk that the user might break something inside the console, in the process).

I can't say for sure you'd gain anything, but that's what I think. However you can use that process to increase the storage capacity of your console, I know that works.

EDIT : Stu surely knows better than me though Smilie.

Sony fully endorse it, It's in the manual, and really easy to do.

You can put a faster one in, but the difference will be maybe a few seconds.

What exactly is being slow about it?

Mainly installing games, demos, updates etc. Also the menu is slow loading up during games, though not sure if that has anything to do with the hard drive.

ModeratorStaff Member

Actually, my PS3 was going extremely slow when downloading the FIFA and PES demos this week. I put it down to a ton of people downloading them at the same time though.

I wasn't aware of that, and I now stand corrected Smilie. My bad.
