That's gotta be for Europe only, I'm not seeing those sales on psn. But it's not ENTIRELY bad, we're getting buy one get one free combo packs of Loco Roco/Patapon for $15 & a combo of Motor Storm Arctic Edge & Twisted Metal Head On for the same price.

Damn, I wanted to get V, VIII and IX, I'm guessing there isn't a way to buy these unless you're connected to PSN on the PS3?

Or PSP, since you can log in to PSN on there too.

I'm sure there's possibly an alternative to download from your PC though, so I will have a look.
    ---

Sorted. Download Media Go. Lets you sign in to your PSN account and buy games to download to your PC. Just make sure you have the space to move them to your PS3 again. In fact, I'm guessing you could purchase them and they should be available to download from your account the next time you go on your PS3.

Like I said before this might only be an offer for the UK, so unless you eant to swap accounts alot to access a Euro deals just wait till it comes to NA & othee regions. I'm not worried though since I've already bought all the original Final Fantasy titles on my Wii's Virtual Console & still have FF VI (aka FF III) on my SNES that works after almost 20 years!!

I live in the UK, I can't access the internet on my PS3 because of University. And I own every other FF except the ones I mentioned above.

Scrap that, I've turned my PC into a wireless router, so I can go on to the PSN store now, will be downloading the FFs tomorrow since the internet will be faster.

Just to confirm Stu, you can use Media Go on your PC too. I've used it myself in the past to download from the PS Store. Glad you're able to get them now anyway.

And yes, it is a European deal, Vorash. The link I posted is from Eurogamer.

Edit: I see now, I didn't see the PSOne classics bit, thanks for the info.

Got! Seriously, I actually bought them all off PSN. Not all just now, though. Over the past two-and-a-bit years I've bought loads of PSone games from PSN, among them the FF titles. The only one I got on that deal ('cause it's the only one I didn't have) is #5. I haven't completed any of them, ever. I once got near-ish to it by getting onto the third disc of #7.

I've got around thirty PSone games stored on my PS3 (and nearly sixty PSN games of the native PS3 variety). The only one I've actually finished (on PS3) is RE: Director's Cut. In my defence, many of them were purchased simply because they were on offer dirty cheap (and I had some pennies left over in my PSN wallet), and/or they're games from my past that I cherish, and wished to have once more.

Some (like FFVII) are ones that I played, but never finished for one reason or another. Others (like Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain) I never played at all when I was a child, but wanted them badly. Now I have them. Many of them are regrettable purchases, to be honest. Over half of them, I booted them up and instantly thought "this sucks ass", and never played again. There's one or two that I've never once booted up.

Am I crazy? Regardless, I shan't be getting much more from PSN since my PS3's HDD is becoming quite full.

I veered disgustingly off-topic after the first sentence. Sorry chaps, I'll get my coat.

There must be a reason you still bought FF games, despite not finishing any. If you aren't going to give VII another chance, then I suggest you try IX. And if you don't like that one, well, at least you tried :]

Nah, I will get around to finishing VII for sure. I even have the official guide for my PS3 playthrough. I'm somewhere on disc 1, and my party is stronger than tungsten-carbide, thanks to the guide. I was smashing the shit out of all the bosses and stuff. The plan was to use the guide up until I get to the point I got to years ago when I were a lad. Honestly, I think my party may already be stronger than my one from back then.

I've gotten the two secret characters (the weird ninja girl, the guy with the gun/red cape/pointy shoes), done the thing in the pagoda, gotten lots of secret stuff (like secret summon monsters and such), blah blah blah. I can't remember what stopped me playing it this time. Probably that I've seen the vast majority of it before, and/or some new game took my attention away. The main reason I haven't really touched the others is that I don't want to be playing multitudinous Final Fantasies at the same time. I'd rather wait till VII is finally done, then crack on with one of the others, and so on.

I remember ponying up the cash for FFVI so that I didn't have (?) to spend the fortune it costs to buy it for my Super Famicom. Plus the FMVs look pretty! I've had at least a five minute go on all of them besides VIII, which I played back in the day and got most of the way through (kind of like VII). Of the the 2D ones, I think I'll enjoy VI the most (though V looks like a charming little game).

Of the 3D ones, not sure. Finally finishing VII will be very rewarding for me. Over the years, I've gone back to it maybe four times? Each time I got a shorter distance into the game before I gave up for whatever reason. The first playthrough was the best, obviously. I loved it to pieces, but I'm just not very good at these turn-based JRPGs. Grinding pisses me off.

Thus, on my first play in the 90s I was always struggling to kill things, and in the end my party was just too weak to continue. On my PS3 (because of my awesome guide), my party is hard as fuck. Literally nothing can stand in their way. I've yet to experience a Game Over screen. Remember when games gave you a Game Over screen? Fuck, I feel old.

Fair do's for seeing it out. Best way. At least with a guide as well, you're seeing pretty much everything the game has to offer. There's very few games nowadays where I actually want to replay them to see everything (due to time and generally cba), so in this case, using a guide at least is a good thing.

For me as well, grinding isn't something I can normally enjoy these days, again due to time and that it's not as fun as I remember. With all my other games unplayed on the shelf, sitting there grinding for hours makes me think I could be using this time to play something else. Back in the day I was in a different frame of mind and did it every day, on every FF. It's why I prefer games without random encounters now, or ones where you can limit the amount you get, or ones where you see the enemies on the field so you can dodge battles with them.

I think I also have that FFVII guide. While it does do the job, it's still actually pretty shit in comparison to the experts from GameFAQs. Even the far superior VIII and IX guides still aren't quite up to scratch, but they'll definitely get you through the game easily enough. It wasn't until I discovered GFAQs though, that I found out just how unbelievably good the pros on there are. No need to buy guides again.

Yeah I can totally see that being the case, but I like my glossy official guide with lovely colour pictures. I find some of those GameFaqs text guides to be hard to follow, particularly with more complicated/in-depth games like FF. In my book, there'll be a picture with an arrow pointing at something and a small caption underneath. On GFAQS that'll be a page of plain text to describe the same thing.

I think guide books are better for referring to for bigger, complicated games. I can just have it sat next to me, and not have to refer to a computer screen. I could print out the hundreds of pages, I suppose. But then the guide only cost me a fiver from Play! To be honest, I kind of feel like a fag for stooping to using a guide. But that game has defeated me too many times. This time I will obliterate it! Smilie

I sure hope Square will be showing more info on FF Versus 13...like a freaking playable demo at E3 or TGS this year.

I also BETTER hear a Wii U confirmation for Versus 13...if there's been a job posting online for devs to work on the 360 version of V13 then there's NO EXCUSE to not have a Wii U version since it's twice as strong as the ps3 at MINIMUM!!

I wouldn't be so sure on either of those things. FFVersusXIII, last I heard, was still yet to enter full development. It's been in the planning stages for... a REALLY long time. They definitely revealed it far too early, and Nomura's teams are too spread out across multiple projects to get it done any time soon.

Late 2013 release at the earliest was what they said last.

And, I also doubt a WiiU version. There's not really any reason to keep the game from 360 so as long as it's PS3 exclusive it'll probably stay that way, not a matter of power, just exclusitivity. Still I've heard rumours that FFXV will be on WiiU.

GOOD GOD NO KEEP THAT FF ONLINE FILTH AWAY & GIMME VS13!! (shutter)

No I'm perfectly content getting Dragon Quest X as an exclusive for Online play. I enjoy FF more anyways & really SOny is now the LAST company devs will want to have exclusives for since it's sales figures are still so low. Remember Assasin's Creed & FF13 WERE originally going to be ps exclusive then Square changed their minds, I got a feeling they've widened up & will do the same here.
There ia really NO REASON NOT to have VS13 on Wii U, it's more capable than either system & it's got more to offer capabilitywise. Only Psycho SOny Only & Xbot fanboys wouldn't think it'd show on Nintendo again.

Oops sorry for the begining of my last comment. When you said FF15 in Romen Numerals I read it as FF14, sorry about that.

Well as long as it's got the same caliber as FF4,6,8 or 9 & not just some over hyped let down like FF7, 10,11 & 13 were I'll be happy.

    I said FFXV, not FFXIV.
    EDIT: Ok yeah you noticed.

That was years ago back when the PS3 didn't have shitloads of momentum and popularity, things are different now, the PS3 has a wonderful selection of exclusives which have sold brilliantly too. Just look at the Uncharted games.

There ia really NO REASON NOT to have VS13 on Wii U, it's more capable than either system & it's got more to offer capabilitywise. Only Psycho SOny Only & Xbot fanboys wouldn't think it'd show on Nintendo again.

You're right, there's no reason not to, but that's not how the games industry works. If Sony are paying Squeenix for an exclusive, then unless there's a big reason to break that exclusitivity it'll remain exclusive. VersusXIII's sales will be huge regardless of exclusitivity breaking, and so inversely Squeenix have no reason to spend the money investing in and porting to a new system. If a game is built from ground up on PS3, PS3 will likely offer the best experience. Inexperienced ports to new hardware often end badly (look at Valve's early PS3 ports for example.)

PS. Overhyped or not FFVII was pretty gr8 for its time. Personally I'm hoping for something more like FFV-

EDIT: Also please don't double post! Edit your second post into your first one please~
