Rob mate, that is probably the most creative DST I've seen during its time - well done. Kudos to you!

I liked the picture to begin with, if you're not happy with the first pic then you will only go at it half heartedly, for exapmle the first ever Dst Btl I think was the one with the Eyes, and that was a great image, and it showed by the amount of competitors.

Coz something cropped up and i have to be somewhere else at 7 CET(my time).

did'nt want to keep changing the cut off time to coincide my real life.

Sorry if this is a prob. it's unavoidable.

How about we just submit till you get online to judge. Just type no more entries in a post before you start judging.

I actually meant there's no point setting the deadline at that time. The deadline may as well be 9 when it will be judged.

Results of DST 19

Firstly thanks to everyone who entered, I think there has an excellent response and some stunning work.

For the judging today I have carefully considered all of the entries and picked one entry from each distorter.

So, based on the original criteria of:

The quick witted among you will have noticed the Kate is not in the driving seat - so extra credit will be given if She or any other character can be blended in to the distortion.

Most of all I want to see clever ideas... technical excellence is not important, just make it interesting

the voting from the Netherlands is as follows:

8th - Geepo

I do believe you had a good try here, it’s very mysterious but there just isn’t enough detail to accurately judge.

7th - Titan

Like this because it reminds me of laser projections or holograms. Second entry defiantly better of the two, but overall needed a lot more distortion to end up in the winners circle.

6th - General Random

Loved the idea of mag article, and the idea of f-zero being cell-shaded, but I feel you could have given the image load more prominence and more defined cell-shading effects (to fit the article)

5th - Tokechan

Technically not top dollar, but you did follow the criteria. Fred makes a welcome addition to the f-zero crowd.
This one always made me chuckle when I scrolled past it. Good effort.

Joint 3rd - Wonkey Kong & Thief 101

Now here is where things get very difficult, I really can’t decide who should take 3rd place.

Thief101

Thief’s image shows to me a person who has really put a creative thought process in to action. Although the image itself is not overly distorted, I think he has turned the idea of distortion on its head and created and distorted a sort of subplot to the f-zero story. – love it.

Wonkey Kong

WK, well I couldn’t decide between your two images. On minute I like the first entry because it really reminds me of the van Gogh painting style, big dreamy swirling backgrounds, then I think that the fire field is pretty cool.

I have made my mind up… van Gogh it is.
I’m not sure if this is how you imagined it when you did it, but in my mind looking like an oil painting is distortion enough. – Good stuff

2nd - The cackling idiot.

Technically beautiful, surreal and witty all at the same time. Bonus for inclusion of the furry dice. - Smashing

1st - Leroyzero

Well, I guess you all knew you were beaten when you saw it. This is only the forth time I have been involved with DST/DIB and even I knew there probably wasn’t anything as good before.

I am stunned at the quality and imagination… a truly outstanding image – Congratulations.

Thanks again for all the entries and sorry if I pissed anyone off with the results.
