Bit.Trip is a series of the musical rhythm kind of the form of videogames. This thread will be devoted to the series. Discuss.

    Bit.Trip Beat

The first game in the series, and it looks more interesting than almost everything else released on WiiWare.

    Bit.Trip Core

    Bit.Trip Void

    Ah yes!

This is a great game. And bloody hard(coreSmilie)!

I downloaded the demo of this when I first got my Wii, played it a couple of times everyday, even getting out of bed because I loved it so much I kept thinking about it.
Downloaded it when I got Wii points, and played it quite a bit. Like I said it\'s hard though, I\"ve not yet unlocked the third level, I keep failing at that bit in the second level where you have to bounce those blocks with an irregular pattern. It goes too fast for me, so I usually just move the pad up and down and FAIL!

I can definitely recommend this game, it\'s only 6 euro as well. I think you\'d better try the demo first though, since most people I show this to go nuts from watching it a bit.
It\'s not for everyone in other words, and certainly not if you got epilepsy and stuffs.

So yeah, try it. The demo is still up until somehwere in January I think. (what\'s up with that Nintendo?)

I tried the demo, but I\'ve never been one for arcade type games so I passed. It\'s great just as a demo though, because I really enjoyed the Space Invaders Extreme demo, it felt kinda similar. Just for a little blast every now and then y\'know? Smilie It\'s just not the kind of thing I would pay for.

I loved the music as well by the way. And it's such a great feeling when you manage to get a long series going without missing a block.
It's also really creatively done, the different patterns they came up with.

It's really artsy. Smilie I played the demo as well. I liked it, but I didn't want to pay. Also, I think I remember playing something like this on newgrounds where you move the mouse or something like that.

My brother and me love the demo. I'll probably end up buying it soon.

How long is the full game (compared to the demo)?

About 3 times as long. You've got to finsih the first level and then you'll proceed to the next one. There's three in total. (I think, I haven't completed it)

Only 3x as long??? Why would I pay €6 for it then? The demo lasts only 7 minutes, even though it has high replay value.

    *looks up reviews*

It looks like you're right. No buy for me then. Yet.

Yeah but the demo isn't all there is to the first level. There's some more parts after it ends and then there's a boss battle.
Beating the second level should take you a couple of hours just replaying it over and over again trying to beat it, and then there's the third level which I dare not think of yet. Smilie

I've completed the first 2 levels on BEAT and only the first level on CORE. Both games are really fun yet frustrating.

I wished CORE supported the Classic Controller. The D-Pad on the Wii Remote is too small and uncomfortable to use. Smilie

Definately worth the 600 points. Smilie

Woah, this looks real trippy- I like it. Might give it a buy, if my undying hate for WiiWare ever resides.

New Bit.Trip Runner trailer. I'll add more footage if there's any decent stuff of it from GDC.

Super Meat Boy makes a cameo. Smilie

Looks fantastic and possibly the best one yet, from what I've seen of it so far. I'll definitely be getting it, once it's released in Europe.

I got Bit Trip Beat off Steam as part of a $5 package deal, and it's provided its share of entertainment, concentration, and utter rage.

    I love it! Smilie

    Update!

If you like the soundtrack to the games, you can buy them from Gaijin's bandcamp page, or get the Beat and Runner soundtracks on Steam.

Speaking of Steam, there's a big Super Meatboy related bundle which includes Beat and Runner. They're on the cheap individually too, along with the soundtracks.

Also, a sequel to Runner is being made. It's going to look a fair bit different it seems. Will be interesting to see how it turns out. Also seems like this won't be released for Wii either.

Cheers for that mate, may actually have to buy this bundle. Has quite a few fantastic games that I'm yet to try out/have only tried out briefly. I already have SMB on XBLA, but I've wanted the PC version too because it has exclusive characters and the Super Meat World. May have to buy this later or something.
