Speaking to U.K site VideoGamer.com. Capcom\'s Christian Svensson, vice president, business development and strategic planning, said that while \"not every game needs it\", the company was \"potentially\" going to apply the HD Remix treatment to other great fighting games within it\'s back catalogue.

He said: \"Are we done doing HD Remixes?. No we\'re not done. But the next ones that we do will be even better, based on what we learned.\"

When asked if Marvel vs.Capcom 2 was a game that didn\'t need the HD Remix treatment, Svensson replied:

\"I won\'t say it doesn\'t need it. Marvel would be great to do. There\'s obviously a fan base for it. It\'s probably our most requested title. Unfortunately, I wish I had news to share on that front but I don\'t.\"

The chances of Capcom making Marvel vs. Capcom 3, however, are less likely, due to licensing issues it seems:

\"I would never say never but I would say the barriers to doing that are much higher than the barriers for MvC2,\" said Svensson.

I hate Marvel so much

^^^ Ditto. Smilie

I want Marvel vs DC vs Shonen Jump. That'd be licensing hell right there. Smilie

DC > Marvel. :3

Seriously, how can you compare Spider-pussyman to the man of steel? batman or the fucking flash!

On that note though, DC can\'t be put into decent fighting games against other continuities, the charactersare just so fast and powerful, even if in small ways. DBZ vs DC would be just about the only decent fighter where neither teams needed to be nerfed. DC and marvel are both taking a beating in the recession though i think, im betting they\'d be all to happy to get some extra game in-come.

The game was also added to the Xbox360Achievements website, with 12 of it's achievables.

Capcom has released a countdown site which people believe is the countdown to the announcement for MvC2 for XBLA/PSN. Thanks to the article on TheGameReviews.com for the details about it. Here is the article:

\"In reference to that immortal song, this website silently went live in the early hours Tuesday morning. At first glance, the site appears to count down to an announcement concerning a remake of Marvel vs. Capcom 2, with URL tu4ar standing for \"Take You For A Ride,\" and giant numeral \"2\" in the background.

An unknown person reportedly introduced the website by spamming the address in #Capcom - a fan channel for members of the Shoryuken community. While certainly not the most official way of teasing a website, some of the signs behind the scenes indicate that this website may be legit.

While loading, the website transfers data from another domain - http://dev02.capcomusa.net/. The base url just loads a Fedora test page, but some snooping on that domain yields another url - http://dev02.capcomusa.net/mvc2gmt/. If nothing else, this new URL certainly indicates the game in question is MvC2, with the timer being based on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

A bit more snooping reveals even more promising information. The domain, www.tu4ar.com, is registered to one Kathleen Alleythis Capcom-unity post, which includes a reference to the website in question (thanks to NeoGAF member Judderman for the spot).

Perhaps most telling of all, CAPTIVATE \'09 - Capcom\'s annual game expo - is set to kick off in just over a week. While the timer is set to expire shortly before the scheduled start of the event, the count down may signal a pre-event announcement so journalists can prepare to cover the game.

We\'ve contacted both Capcom and the original registrant for the website, and will update if any new revelations surface.\"

If this does happen then it will be the best thing to happen since the creation of Sonic. This game would be so much better in HD than it was when it was first realeased for the PS2 and Xbox. I wonder if there will be some more characters to unlock? I hope it comes out soon.Smilie

Don't forget the Dreamcast, never forget that...It looks pretty fucking awesome running through VGA. In fact, I would go as far a to say it's the best looking fighter on the console, when running through VGA.

I hope they do a better job than they did on the Super SFII Turbo HD Remix.

If Marvel has such a huge fanbase, why is this title not a definite release? Why is it hanging in the balance? If Capcom work their asses off and release a perfect game, maybe a little better than SF4, then they'll sell millions globally. With all the films, different cartoon series, books, comics, there must be so many characters they can add in.
Bring it on, but I'm playing as Wolverine!!!!

Long as it has megaman in it, it's all good XD

Licensing, I would have thought.

Again, licensing. Adding new characters means that it can't be classed as a pure re-release. I imagine they could maybe add some more Capcom characters without any licensing issues, but extra Marvel characters are probably out of the question. Again, as just a re-release itself is in doubt, there's not much hope for extra characters, etc.

I'd rather see Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max make it over to XBLA/PSN. That particular version of SFA3 has never made the jump from PSP, and SFA3 Upper and MAX represent the most complete Street Fighter character roster in the entire series. You've got all the old SFII favourites (something even SFIV doesn't have), and the entire Alpha roster, which is probably second-best after the SFII lot.

After Alpha, Capcom really lost the ability to create new, likeable characters.

stupid licensing

Does MvC2 really need anymore characters, though?Smilie

I mean, there is a little bit unbalancing, but nothing terrible.

the demo not :/ i never got why any dev do this

PSN exclusive but the game cant be that far away

( Edited 28.04.2009 19:00 by Jump_button )

I suppose it's the reverse of the situation with the RE5 demo. Capcom owe PS3 gamers some love, after that. It's not like I need a demo - I've played MvC2 before! Still have it on my original Xbox. If only it worked on 360, then I wouldn't have to bother with this, at all.

I would never forget the DC but I thought that the second one was a lot better. It was still a good game and if Capcom decide to make the first one into a HD remix then I will be pleased as well.
