SuperLink should like this one. No brown to be seen at all. Is it just me or does this game completely rape everything from 2D Zelda? I mean literally, the (extremely generic) storyline, the graphics (though polygonal, the visuals clearly ape the 2D Zeldas, I think), even the music seems utterly stolen from Zelda.

Not that I care, of course. I\'m jus\' sayin\', is all.

Edit: Why does the topic title appear incompletely (just says \"PS3\"?\') on the recent topics list?

Mod Edit: I think the little separator bar in your original title messes with the formatting - hopefully this fixes it. (It will take it a second in the side bar to recognize the change)

Yes, like I've said before, this is truly the ultimate tribute to pixel-y adventure games, and ironically it looks better than 9/10 "realistic" games. It looks like it'll get everything you loved about Final Fantasty, Dragon Quest and Zelda, and just turn it upside down... or 3D.

Frikkin' fantastic. I wants a PS3 now.

The fact that it looks like it copies Zelda so much, is the reason I'm put off by it. The art style looks alright, but I not overly keen on it, personally.

Same. Not too interested in something that's a blatant rip-off.

Yeah that's the same reason why Jump doesn't like FPS'.

" Plus the boomerang and similar looking dungeons. Looks like a complete Zelda rip-off. The graphical style is intriguing though, might look into it when I get a PS3."

Hmmm... not interested.

ZELDA REAP!
Really it is a New 3d Version of Zelda but for the PS3

^ Means I\'ll at least try the demo before completely writing it off. I don\'t expect much though.

Simez, are you honestly looking at these videos and NOT thinking this is complete plagiarism? It\'s nothing like Jump disliking FPSs or Martin disliking JRPGs, etc, it\'s not that it\'s generic for the genre. It\'s that it\'s completely copied a specific game.

Last time we got a Zelda-alike we got Okami.

Just sayin'.... Don't push it aside just yet, rip-off it may seem. Either way it'll probably laugh in the faces of those unplayable NES Zeldas it parodies.

It looks cool, but I'm not sure about the anal rape of Zelda. Zelda does that enough to itself with each new instalment, it doesn't need any help from a third-party.

You're a mug. How many realistic-looking games do you know of? I expect a full list of FPS games that in fact do not look realistic at all. There is such a thing as a subtle art style, you know. GTA IV, for instance. It has a slight cartoon quality to it.

It's not just the fact that it looks exactly like Zelda, it's the fact it will probably play like it as well, only in 3D instead. I can't see this being very good at all and I think some are fantasising over the visual style too much (which doesn't look that good anyway, in my opinion).

Just because a game looks all arty, doesn't really mean it's going to be good.

It looks like NES Zelda, and if it plays anything like NES Zelda, it won't be worth playing. I dunno, I do think it looks fantastic, but I don't buy games simply for graphics. It's touch and go whether this'll get a PAL release, anyway. A US release isn't even for sure. I know some PS3 games are region-free, so maybe that'll be an avenue for people to get hold of this game. That's out if it's region-locked, though.

Actually amongst the only \"truly\" realistic games I can think of are Uncharted and racing games.

And if \"those\" FPS are using a \"subtle art style\" then it\'s a pretty crappy one.
I don\'t have anything against GTA IV\'s visuals though.

I just don\'t like to see you banging the old \"colours!\" drum constantly. It ruins you, SuperLink. It ruins you. You\'re too good to be ruined by stupid things. Open your mind to other styles, man, for god sake!

If we are to be completely unbiased on this matter, then we must agree that neither primary-coloured nor more realistic approaches are \'superior\'. It\'s just whatever fits the game best. I wouldn\'t want to see an FPS that looks like the Wind Waker. They tried it with XIII and it was shit.

I\'d agree with the racing games, but you\'re completely out of your mind if you think Uncharted looks realistic. It looks like an idyllic painting, and the people look like comic book characters or something.

Just because it doesn\'t look like Mario doesn\'t mean it\'s realistic, mate.

I was ruined the moment I turned on the MegaDrive for the first time! Smilie

Besides, the colours drum is far more pretty than all the brown drums they make these days.

Cartoon is a style, cel shading is a style, painting is a style, noir is a style, but \"boring\" is not. One game I can think of that uses colours like brown in a nice way is the upcoming Saboteur.

What needs to be understood by games developers is that \"real life\" has colour too. Yeah, it depends on the game, but I don\'t think the entire palette being tints of brown suits anything.

What type of games (other than racing and perhaps sports games) would you consider realistic

EDIT: Really, after watching that trailer again I don\'t see what\'s so very Zelda about it? The biggest Zelda rip off would be the boomerang, but other than that it just looks about as \"NES Adventure game parody\" as any game could be.

I know it's copying those Zelda games, listen to the music because it's almost a complete rework of the Zelda theme. I'm just saying don't let these things sway you away from the games.
I'm miss those (top down) RPG's, that's why I'd give this a chance. It's very out the norm this gen. Lost Planet 2 became Monster Hunter, RE5 became Gears and 3D Dot games is Link to the Past.

It definitely looks like a blatant rip off of A Link to the Past to me too. Might as well be the Overworld Theme there.

Really? LMAO i wonder if there are talking trees too.

Actually, I hadn't even considered the parody angle. I'm interested to see how true that is, and if true, how far they go with it. If it's a fucking hilarious game - I'd be on it.

If you know of SEGA's parody Wiiware game, Pole's Big Adventure, I'm hoping it to be like that but obviously with tributes focusing on RPGs and adventure games of the time.

It reminds me of a dungeon in Persona 4, except this time a whole game will be based around it. From that alone I can tell it'll be stuffed with little tributes, nods, and asides to old games. I mean the graphical style and story is one big parody in itself.

Oh Martin all PS3 games are region free PS3 is unlocked for games just not movies. It's the 360 which has the region unlocked for SOME games.

Oh right, fair enough! I swear I'd seen a 'Region 2' icon on the back of one of the boxes, but I just looked, and actually there are no such icons. Must have been one of my Blu-ray films, or I'm just going mad.

So I can play any region PS3 games and Blu-ray discs on my PS3 slim? If that is so, then that's a fabulous +1 to Sony! Does it play any region PSone games, as well? That'd be the cherry on the cake.

No blu rays are locked between region A, B, and C. Region A being US, B is PAL territories and C is places like India. There have been some region free blu rays but that\'s very rare.

But PS3 games are all region-free like DS/PSP. I remember Sony saying it at the PS3 unveiling conferences and I doubt they locked the region for Slim.

Edit again - No on the PSOne/PS2 games are locked, I don\'t know why.
