Shit bros.
Bayonetta came out almost a month ago, and since then I have seen little interest in Kamiya's newest beauty (I believe I'm the only one who posted it in "Latest Purchases, you should be ashamed). So I figured I'd try to generation a little interest. I've been playing it all morning, my first real opportunity since I got my 360 back on Friday, and I'm currently on Chapter 3.

After playing the PS3 demo, I thought, "Hey, this is pretty fun", but believe me when I say what you see in the demo isn't even a fraction of the crazy this game will put you through in the first portion of the game alone. Everything is ridiculously and hilariously over the top, it's like Devil May Cry on crack.

Also I know what a lot of people are thinking, "a senseless button mash fest can't be that much fun". I don't know what to say to that since there's no way you can even get a glimpse of the full experience without buying the full game. However it should be known that the combos are tons of fun to execute, and everything flows incredibly well. Doing shitloads of damage and seeing everything around you explode also feels as awesome as it sounds. As Mage_Mccloud said in the PS3 Thread, believe the hype.

Did I mention the game is also stuffed to the brim with brilliant references to other SEGA and Capcom games? I've already heard copious nods to the likes of Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, and even Sonic the friggin Hedgehog. One power up even turns Bayonetta into a panther that runs just like Ammy, jumps just like Ammy, and leaves (somewhat ghastly) flowers behind her, just like Ammy.

Please talk about Bayonetta and her crazy legs here. And for you worrying PS3 owners, SEGA have already patched the game improving loading times and framerate, especially if you install. More fixes probably on the way.

tl;dr: please buy Bayonetta as a way of thanking Hideki Kamiya for Okami.

Discuss. In the meantime I'm going to go and get my brain melted some more. Dancing a-gogo baby!

But it aint on Wii. So it must be shit.

Played this game for about an hour and it blew my mind all over the god damn floor. The combat is brilliant and just the general feel of the game is wicked sick. Will write more later, but seriously, you need this game in all of it's fanservice glory.

Have you seen any video's of this game. It is the best game I have ever played, I only have the demo. If you have not played the game how can you call it shit. Play games before giving an opinion.

Uhhh DMG, I think he was being sarcastic and also you can't call it the best game ever when you only played a demo >.>
The game certainly is awesome from what I've experienced but with similar gameplay to devil may cry, I might get bored of it quickly. However I will probably pick this up within a couple of weeks or so as it does seem much better then Devil may cry.

Played it on Josh's PS3 - didn't like it. Didn't seem as good as DMC, and I didn't like the style of it. It's got rave reviews though, so I'm sure it's grand for some! There's demos available, so have a go by all means.

Honestly, the trailer seemed more enticing than the demo. In that respect, I may choose to believe you and add this as a priority on my "Wish List of 9001 Things I Can't Buy at the Moment".

The big hair is kind of a turn-off, though. Kinda tells me that she'd rather let me eat cake.

It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path.

Considering her hair is her clothes, and the bigger the combo the more hair it uses up = she gets more naked. I think big hair is ok in this instance.

I'm probably missing the latest fashion trend of gayness being hip or something. :/
Laugh at me.

Someone's been playing too many Nomura games.

I've just gotten to Chapter V, after a very long and epic boss battle in Chapter IV. Not sure I like there being so many weapons to choose from, I had gotten so used to punching stuff Smilie

Still on Chapter V, it's really hard compared to the previous ones, talk about a difficulty jump. Hopefully near Chapter VI by now ^^;
There are these little challenges throughout the game through these portals. Most of them are hard as nails and very frustrating, and I've given up on 2 I've found so far (while I've beaten 3 or 4).

I also thought I'd mention that there's some quality platforming in this too.

Like that, except without the make up and long hair.

Take away the boobs and add a penis, and yes, pretty much.

Funniest thing, which I didn't realize until after I bought the game and my friends told me... the guy on the other side of the counter totally flirted with me, while I was too preoccupied by looking at the game, grinning like mad. Smilie Ah well, once a gamer always a gamer, even if I had to drag myself back into the tracks again. Ehem, slightly out of topic maybe, but I just wanted to share the wonderful moment with y'all. Haven't been this eager for a game since uh... Wii in general! Except the Mario game for Wii, but that's beside the point!

Haven't started Bayonetta quite yet, got some things to deal with beforehand, but later I'm deticating my evening and night to get down to busniness. Smilie Even got me some snacks to make the gaming debut top notch! Omnomnom.
It looks frickin awesome, haven't tried no demo or anything, but so much tells me it wouldn't matter anyways.

Also, have to be said... GIRL POWAH!!

BUMP!!

Just got this game today and sunk about 3 hours into it. I'm loving it so far. It's sexy, fast and deadly (and that's just Bayonetta) as well as bordering on down right hilarious at times. The enemies get suddenly tough and it's just a good challenge (I've already died 5 times, mainly from failing quick time events though lol) and to top it all off, it looks stunning. Can't wait to get further through it!

"Bayonetta is definitely a special IP for us, we loved creating that game. We think it was a really good game. We would love to make a sequel to it when the time is right. That's all we can say."

I am in the middle of chapter IV. It never gets tiresome using the torture attacks and using witch time is just as good to use. I am like Echoes with the dying a lot with the quick time events. They are good but can be a bit tricky to time just right. I am finding the frame rate to be a bit bad, like a video cassette with the lines forming when you rewind or fast forward, but it is supposed to be better than the PS3 frame rate.

I need to start playing this again, got my 360 last month and I got this a few days after. Only played through about 3-4 chapters.. and I'm pretty suckish at it. Thinking I should've started on the easiest difficulty. Smilie

Yeah, normal mode is rather difficult. I always go on normal so I can get 2 achievements all in one go. But I have been struggling on Normal, with the quick time events and boss battles. it does take a bit of getting used to, but you will get the hang of it and enjoy it.
