He seemed to have a big problem with the (on foot) camera movement in the game (and to be fair it does sound really shit, flicking the stylus to turn the camera? Smilie)
Nearly all the reviews have mentioned the awkward controles, I guess some got used to it quicker than others though.

But it is getting decent reviews from most other publications and it does have a lot of controle options....I think for me it's gonna be somthing I have to try before I buy.

The game appears to have a bunch of different control options, according to Adam. I don't see what the big problem is surrounding the controls. It's just like learning how to use the controls for a new console. It'll take us a little while for us to get used to the Wii U controls for example. Just because a game requires you to master the controls does not make the controls bad, it just means the player hasn't given them enough time to feel natural.

I think it's more that fact that it seems kind of unneccesary, they could have made it like Metroid Prime Hunters you didn't have to flick the screen to rotate the camera in that game, it just acted like a mouse would on a PC TPS/FPS game.
They could have even included duel analouge controles with the CPP.
Just seems weird, maybe it's a japanese thing, who knows *shrug*

But I avn't tried the game yet s I don't really know how the controles feel.

Nintendo can be thoroughly shit:

I love Nintendo, don't get me wrong.
But they are often very backwards in their thinking. What I don't understand is how Iwata alone can shoot that down. And remember we had that story a couple years ago about Reggie shooting down the Mother series? (Their OWN series!) Ridiculous. Sometimes I think Nintendo maybe successful in spite of their quirkiness and not because of it. Smilie

If one thing is certain, they have always been and will probably continue to be closed off to third party support. They need to... I don't even know. What else has been shot down over the years by Nintendo?

Edit: Wait, they are making that Spirit camera Thing-a-ma-jig in conjunction with Ninty, right? Well then it makes total sense why it was shot down. Nintendo wants Unique IPs on its system and by having a company like Tecmo behind a project that may be perceived by the hardcore crowd as casual its only bolstering the project's credibility and credence.

Spirit Camera was the secondary proposal.

There are already and ample number of ports on the 3DS, but there are no western ports of GHM's Fatal Frame IV, a game which is much sought after in the West. The 3DS could have turned that game into a 9/10 game, rather than the 7-8 game it is on Japanese Wii, with it's cumbersome controls.

That's sorta pathetic to think that at this point in time the 3DS is the superior hardware compared to the Wii, but I get the crux of what your saying completely. There are a few games I wish would make it Westward and all the better in portable form.

Happy 1st Anniversary, Nintendo 3DS. You had a rocky start, but in the end it was a great first year!

New Super Mario Bros. 2 was the big announcement. Considering the first one sold more than 25 million copies and is the second best selling game in Japan ever, it was a smart move.

My question is, why is it called NSMB2 even though it's the third one out?

Maybe they are only numbering the handheld NSMBs now and if there's going to be one on the Wii U, it's probably going to be called NSMB Wii U or something. That's about the only idea I can think of for this.

I bought Inchworm Studio, it's now available on the European eShop, it's been out in NA for a year... Also bought Trip World on GB.

@Rudy

That Geoman GB game has been rated by the OFLC, so it should be with us shortly.

I prefer my home screen on the 3 X 5 grid.

Only have 4 folders, 3DS/DSiWare, Virtual Console and Demo's.

The Junk folder is way off to the right never to be seen, and the warning app is far off to the right inside that folder. Never to be seen again.

Cubed3 Member

Yea, I just switched mine to that now and prefer it. I think you can delete the warning app, I don't seem to have it any more. I think I deleted it in settings.

Cubed3 Member

Are you sure? I can't find anyway to delete it Smilie

Over 1000 spammy messages on Nintendo Letterbox, and no way of deleting them all in one fell swoop... Only Nintendo.

It's still there ^^. It seems I pushed it to the very end thinking I had deleted it. It has to be there for them as a additional legal precaution.

edit:

Has anyone else got Pushmo/Pullblox, am I really the only one whose bought "3DS's killer app" :?

I was hoping I could share a few levels here and there.

You can spell stuff using the new folders.

I have Pullblox. I haven't finished off the main game yet though, I stopped playing it a while ago. I'll definitely go back to it at some point though. Smilie
