Can they tell you an exact time if you call them?
From what I gathered in the email, they'll update the tracking status tomorrow morning with information on when it will be delivered to you.

Quote from the email:

You can track your order at any time by clicking below. From the morning of 29 November you will also be able to view your one hour delivery timeslot by clicking below.

From what I've heard, DPD aren't the most reliable, but I guess we'll find out if this is the case tomorrow!

EDIT:

Eh... so just as I said. Not very reliable. DPD said they aren't delivering my Wii U till tomorrow now, so I'm stuck with a couple of Wii U games taunting me! Smilie

Fortunately I have to work anyway. Smilie

DPD didn't deliver my WiiU today either, but I did get this from ShopTo:

All bullshit.

Don't believe any of it myself, but it's fun to imagine. Smilie

Way too detailed for it to be true. The rumours that end up being accurate usually appear in small bits.

I got mine last night at a midnight launch. The update took about 25mins tops, it was no where near the amount of time i have read online. It did take about 10mins to install the fifa demo after it had downloaded, i was not expecting it to take that long.  Zombiu was good but i only had a 20 min go so can not really judge it yet. Also i was not allowed to use the word Nintendo in my Nintendo I.D. so i can not be nintendostanley Smilie. My I.D. is SuperStan if any one wants to add me.

Flapper!

Mine arrived yesterday from Shopto, and my Nintendo Network ID is SuperSonic2 and my Mii is called Himura, just like it is on my 3DS. Just thought I should tell you guys. PM me yours if you want as well

Got mine today as well guys Smilie
Will let you know my Nintendo id when I've updated but chances are it's gonna be LKR000 xD

Nintendo Network ID: LKR000               PSN: LKR000
3DS: 1246-8696-120                              GT: LKR101

Got my WiiU too, just running through updates but will barely have time to play it today. Got AllStars Racing and Nintendo Land (obv) but hopefully Tekken will arrive soon.

Also using it as a TV Remote is pretty neat but then I remembered I don't watch TV, all I do is turn it off and turn the sound up n down (or change between Component and HDMI)
My Nintendo ID will probably be SuperLink or SuperLink9, I doubt I have a need to share accounts with my brother for once since all content on the system is shared across users.

PS. Some of those rumours are inevitably true, but the rest is prolly little more than guessing.

Just to update anyone that pre-ordered from Expansys, I called them up and eventually got something out of them. Apparently they won't be able to fulfill any orders until after Christmas. I also expect that price to change although they have assured me it wont.

I went into GAME today to get the CODBO2 deal for £350 but then at the last minute the manager stopped the transaction because apparently it was already pre-ordered. I am gutted but also would have felt guilty for taking someone's preordered console. (Not that i would have known)

I tried GAME online but they can't send anything to a postal address that isn't your billing address over £200.

I then looked at Amazon and could have got it for £345 but after looking at all my unplayed games i decided that its probably best to get through them before investing in one...

Annoyingly Zavvi have already dispatched Tekken so now i am going to have that starring at me unless i return it or trade it!

UPDATE: CEX are giving me £30 trade in for it...i guess thats more than i paid for it anyway!

Wii U is so pretty! Smilie I'm easily impressed because I've never had an HD console or a tablet before. Now I get both in a Nintendo console!!

I went to the store around 12:30 to see if it already came in. One of the clerks was smiling at me when he recognized me, so I figured that was good news. It was.
The bad news is that they wouldn't instantly copy the price I saw in another store. They needed proof... that company's website didn't show that lower price. So I had to pay €348 at first. Fortunately I found an online ad which I printed, with that I got some money back. I ended up paying €326 for the Premium pack!!!

I think i am happy to wait to be fair, i was getting it just for the sake of having something new, I tend to buy Nintendo hardware on release, so its a bit weird for me to not have one. But considering i have over 25 games unplayed (around 5-6 of those being AAA titles) i can hold off...

Hopefully the second/third wave of hardware will have the day one update pre-installed. Doubt it, but you never know

My brother bought Black Ops 2 and a Wii U Pro controller yesterday. First impressions:

The game is a lot of fun. Haven't noticed any performance issues, but I haven't played much of the campaign which is where those apparently are.
I'm still unconvinced when it comes to DLC, but otherwise there's no sense that I'm playing a lesser version of the game. There's split screen, Zombies, my brother and I can play and both be logged in to our Wii U accounts, it's all great so far.

One thing I noticed, and I don't know if this is exclusive to the Wii U version or what because I haven't heard of this happening to anyone else, but when we played zombies sometimes meshes would stretch across the map like they sometimes do in Bethesda games (YouTube it, it yields hilarious results in some cases). This would happen for less than a second and then be gone, but it happened quite a few times. We never logged out or anything so I don't know if it will happen every time we play zombies, but it was a little strange and something I hope they fix.

The Wii U pro controller is great. I wanted BO2 for the Wii U because I liked the Wii Remote and Nunchuck so much, but I have yet to even try them. I played the game a little bit with the GamePad but mostly have stuck to the Pro controller. The buttons have a little learning curve, but nothing too severe.

Secrets...

  • If you press X to switch WaraWara Plaza to the GamePad, you can use ZL and ZR to spin the game icons around freaking all of the Miis out.  Also, if you pan to the top of WaraWara Plaza, you can see some of the icons that float around behind the channel menu floating above the Miis.
  • The Miis in WaraWara Plaza express the emotion chosen alongside the message in Miiverse when they talk.
  • The GamePad accepts many headphones that include microphones as headsets including the headphones that come with iPhones and iPods.  Rocketfish does make official Wii U headsets as well, though.
  • In channel loading screens there is a rounded  border near the top of the TV screen and near the bottom of the GamePad screen making it like they're one big screen.
  • In many menus, the sounds and music coming from the GamePad are different than those coming from the TV giving the music a funky surround sound effect if you have them both on at once.
  • The GamePad can be used as a TV remote without turning the Wii U on, just press the TV button and you can use the controls like normal.
  • The Pro Controller connection is handled by the Wii Remote/Other controller menu on the Wii U even though it can't be used in Wii emulation mode.
  • Don't plan on viewing any porn or other sensitive sites through the Wii U's Internet browser unless you want everybody using the console to know, or don't plan on keeping any bookmarks.  While there is a separate clear cookies option, clearing your history can only be done by completely deleting the browser's save data including settings and bookmarks.  This is particularly unusual because the 3DS (and I believe even the Wii) browser has a regular clear history option just like every other decent browser for the past 10 years.

Some questions about the Wii U browser:

How do I watch the NORMAL Facebook page instead of the crappy mobile one?

Blip.tv doesn't work for me... is there a way to fix it?

Is there a way to turn off the controller when watching a Youtube video on the TV? I want to save batteries...

...

It's more fancy than I thought it would be. Being isolated from most gaming adverts and news I thought it was just another simple hand-held console! How I was wrong.
Looks awesome to chase zombies with! I'd love to see something like that with an Alien game, have the original radar bleep on it while staring wide-eyed at the tv-screen.

Hmm - I haven't tested, but for mobile override it usually is facebook.com?ref=ts Smilie

Got mine early on Friday morning, bit of a mad weekend, but the few hours I've squeezed in so far have been ace. Really loving the ability to play around with it (as i am just now!) while the kids watch Christmas Carol Smilie

Got the Zombie U bundle with Black Ops and Nintendo Land, all pretty nice launch games.

Just tried the ?ref=ts trick for FB with no luck, hopefully eshop gets a proper FB download soon...
