Aw, and here I was thinking that there was some sort of discussion about The Last Story going on in here when I saw a lot of new posts...but it's just UntoItsDream trying to pick a fight. I have to wonder though, are you ever buying any game at launch or before a price drop? Because I can't recall any fairly recent game except Super Mario Galaxy 2 that didn't get a score below 90% from at least one gaming website out there. Oh yeah, you might want to avoid The Last Story altogether since it actually received a 6/10 and two 7/10's. Surely those reviewers are right and it must be a terrible game that's not worth your precious time and money...
That aside, let's bring this thread back on track, shall we? How is everyone who owns it liking it (so far)? I finished it last weekend and thought it was a brilliant JRPG that was unlike any JRPG I've played before. I've seen a lot of direct comparisons with Xenoblade which makes sense since they're both JRPGs on the Wii but I myself couldn't directly compare them and say that one is better than the other since they both have a focus on very different elements, with The Last Story focusing more on the characters and combat system while Xenoblade offered so much freedom, exploration and sidequests.
I loved the action-based combat, the setting, the characters, the graphics, the music and pretty much everything else. Heck, I even liked the British dubs by the end of it. The rather frequent slowdowns are a shame though, but they didn't negatively affect the overall experience for me. If I had to give it a score, I'd probably go with a 9.5/10.
