We haven't had one of these in a good while. Originals, classics, moderns, remixes, orchestrations, your own versions; post your favourites here! Share download links and advertise your fave artists if you like.

Rules for Posting - Everyone Please Read!
Where possible guys, please try to refrain from posting too many embedded YouTube videos because some of our computers can't handle it. It's okay to post a few, but please provide the external YouTube link if you're posting many tracks. If you do embed vids, it would be nice to edit the size to something smaller, to keep things tidier and save space. I usually set the width to 200 and height to 180 (you can edit this when you grab the embed link off YouTube).
Many thanks!

Was also thinking of doing some sort of C3 voting contest to determine our highest regarded game music at some point but still thinking how to go about it. Any suggestions, let me know.

I love listening to game music so whatever anyone posts, I'll take a listen to it as I browse. Go nuts. I might post some on a game by game basis.

I'm gonna post my faves from...

Final Fantasy XIII
Masashi Hamauzu composed the entire FFXIII OST and it's certainly one of the highlights of the game and one of the best OSTs in the series. Not so many memorable tracks that stuck in your head, but rather each track fitted the location/scene/battle you were in extremely well and used a variety of different genres, whilst being fully orchestrated. In fact, after re-listening to these again, it's amazing just how well each track fits each area so well.

Saber's Edge (Duodecim arrangement)
Main boss theme, but I actually like the remix made for Duodecim maybe a little bit more. The added rock to the second half of it makes it a little more frantic and puts you on the edge. I get shivers every time at the 2-minute change-up.

Defiers of Fate (Palamecia Assault version)
Love the bass in this but sadly can't hear it as well on my shitty laptop speakers.

Blinded by Light
Needs no introduction. Battle theme and most famous piece from the game.

And plenty more which I'll keep in links to hopefully make it less taxing for those with shitty computers (i.e. me and Marzy).

The Sunleth Waterscape
It's music and places like this that make me wish you could revisit certain areas in the game Smilie

Sulyya Springs
Another vocal track that I can't help but hum to.

Taejin's Tower
Love the quirkiness of this one!

Dust to Dust
One of the most beautiful pieces in the game and series. Fits the area and feeling of the game at the time perfectly.

Fighting Fate
Epic boss theme.

Born Anew
Final boss theme.

Nascent Requiem
Final final boss theme Smilie

"Azuardo's New Topic Frenzy" is causing a storm on these boards!

You know you love it.

Indeed I do! Some actual topics other than Zelda and FF for once!

I love the FF13 soundtrack. Especially the battle themes.

My input, for now. The two songs that immediately spring to mind:

Love the remix of the Great Temple tune from the Adventure of Link

The first song you hear in FFX. It stayed in my head long after playing through the game, more so than any of the other tracks in the game

(sorry to bring more Zelda and FF into this)

L.A. Noire - Main Theme

Red Dead Redemption - Triggernometry

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - Intro

Haha, yet I fill the opening post with Final Fantasy!

I'm a sucker for it, what can I say? So don't apologise, Lrrr! If no one else posts FF, I will, you can bet your life on it. It's no lie the FF series has some of the best music. But I like to have broad tastes as well, so will try to post a variety of course Smilie

Don't know how many are a fan of trance remixes but I have a few I'll share soon.

Really like Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and Conviction
Halo franchise
Elder Scrolls Oblivion
Mass Effect 1&2
Hitman: Blood Money
Forza Motorsport 3
Fable

I like a lot of Crush 40's Sonic Adventure/2 Songs (Especially 2).

Gotta reply to MGS3 with this:

MGS2 Main Theme
2:40 onwards is just epic. I used to listen to and repeat that part endlessly.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time - The Tower of Dawn

Halo - Theme

Masafumi Takada and Jun Fukuda are my favourite modern composers. Their work on Killer and No More Heroes is amazing.

No More Heroes - Ending Theme

Also, for covers, Lonlonjp does some amazing work:

Lonlonpp - "H" FFVII Those Who Fight

He transposes stuff to guitar really well, I used a lot of his work in a cover of Aeris' Theme I made.

Yes, love the Killer7 and NMH soundtracks. Rave On was another I used to have on my phone.

Couple of ace NMH1 tunes:
Pleather for Breakfast
Steel Python

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within
Love this rock OST. Perfect gym music.
Conflict at the Entrance
Clash in the Catacombs
Struggle in the Library
Rooftop Engagement
Confrontation in the Mechanical Tower

The Sims had beautiful piano music, though only in the build mode. It's a stark difference compared to the rest of the game's music, which had some memorable charm to them, but weren't very good. Four of the tracks from build mode are some of my favourite pieces of videogame music ever. I often listen to them to relax.

The Sims - Building Mode 2

The Sims - Building Mode 4

The Sims - Building Mode 5

The Sims - Building Mode 6

Simply beautiful.

Ok guys.. here it is.. probably one of the best - if not the best VG soundtrack made. To think the humble N64 churned this epicness out!

Turok 2 - Port of Aida

I don't want to sound like a party pooper, but could we please edit our posts to links (or at least some)? The amount of embedded videos on this page is unreasonable. Some users may have slower machines, including myself and it just slows everything down. Sometimes to the point that it will freeze for a few seconds.

Thanks.

( Edited 22.06.2011 02:15 by Marzy )

Thought this might happen. But it's affecting my shitty laptop too. That's why I made my vids only 200 in width (was hoping everyone else would follow, but only some have) in the hope it would make things less taxing. What if we put each one in a spoiler tag too - does that reduce the work load? It should only load it once the tag is opened.

Maybe if we all make sure to change the vid size or put them in spoilers and see how that reacts, otherwise we'll have to have more external links.

Wish I had an ace PC now :L

Edit: Put most of mine in spoilers now (which I hope helps), and edited OP asking for others to do the same and reduce video size. If it ends up not really changing anything, we will likely have to edit a few posts to external links.

( Edited 22.06.2011 08:56 by Azuardo )

I don't think reducing the video size makes any difference. It's still the same amount of data it has to load up.

Putting them in spoiler or putting links would solve this problem. Surely people aren't so lazy to be able to click a link? It'd help keep the page cleaner, as well and reduce the amount of scrolling needed to reach the bottom of the page.

Maybe I'm taking it the wrong way, but I feel is if people are being unreasonable about this, to the point that I was told I needed a new laptop the other day and then went on to ignore what I said by posting another embedded video.

I don't want to come across as a miserable fart spoiling everyone's fun. I actually enjoy these videogame music threads, but I just want to be able to get on it, without the hassle of some major slowdown and freezing every time.

Not at all, I totally hear you because my lappy is just as bad. It completely locks up for almost a minute sometimes trying to load this thread now. My fault for not realising when I made it.

Wasn't sure if reducing vid size would do much - I assumed it would take away some of the video being processed, but I guess not. But it would be nice if people did set them to a smaller size because it looks neater imo. The spoiler tags seem to work because they only seem to load once I open the tag.

If people post multiple tracks from one game, they should all go in one spoiler, and another game's tracks in another. That is, it's no good Kafei just putting all of his vids in one single spoiler because it will still take ages to load when the tag is opened. So in Kafei's case, put Dawn of Sorrow tracks in one spoiler, Portrait of Ruin in another, etc.

Again, I'll edit my OP to try and get others to do the same. Marzy, if need be, just edit some people's posts. I'm totally with you because even though I made the thread, like I say, it's killing my lappy now too and I wanna listen to everyone's tracks but I can't atm :L
