Wasn't the price of the 3DS meant to drop to £115~ for Christmas? It's still at a lolling £135+.

It was £120 on Amazon and Play for 24 hours, but still.

Or am I just crazy and made that up? Or did the price only drop in the US?

Also; Is the 3DS region locked? Going to the states in Easter.

There wasn't any official price drop since the one a few months ago. Any reduced prices you see right now, especially around a time like this, are just retailers trying to bag more sales by offering it at a lower price than others.

Oh and yes, unfortunately the 3DS is region locked.

Excessive speculation leads to unrealistic expectations, which ultimately lead to disappointment.

Its up to the developers to decide whether they region lock their cartridges or not. As of now, they are all region locked, but keep an eye on forums and around the net to see if any are region free.

£135 is still a great price. I paid about £200 or something when I got my 3DS, though I got it on launch and I most certainly am not complaining. Smilie

I'm glad I got it when I did, the NES and GBA games are more than enough to compensate me. Heck, I didn't even need those, but Nintendo are awesome and gave us them anyways. Smilie

Did you not notice the massive price drop in August that took almost a third off the price of a 3DS worldwide? Smilie

Sainsburys knocked it down to £117 for the first two weeks of December but put the price back up after.

I would hold out for the 3DS 'lite' , it will come, better battery life and 'built in' second joystick as oppose to the add-on. There is nothing really on the system warranting buying it now. LOZ:OOT and Starfox 64 might be good titles and other than Mario Kart 7 and Mario 3D land there still isn't much i'd get it for.

Don't get me wrong, there are titles coming and a few more that i haven't mentioned but really not worth rushing out for a system over.

Wait for the Vita...toss up the choices and wait for a new iteration of the 3DS

But it's still a lot cheaper than it was when it first came out.
