Well, there's been quite a bit of futurama talk around lately and i couldn't find another thread aimed directly at the series!

I used to love it, it had a hint of the Simpsons charm but it really gave the studio a radically different angle on humour. Loved the setting and the ever to quirkly chracters and "past" references to many famous faces of today.

It's odd though, but I think it begun to die down in it's late age - not sure why it was canned, I think it eas something to do with the main channel it's shown on (FOX) putting it on at random times, pissing of Greoning and his crew.

Man only like 5 episodes came to non-pay tv and in inconvineint times. It's too long since I saw an episode but I remember it being good. Even though I love the simpsons they have to make something to replace it.

Futurama - absolutely fantastic, great adult cartoon humour that was not disguised at all. Simply briliant!

or the other one

Bender: "kiss my gargantuos metal ass" - episode with the what if machine and he was 500ft tall.

Or when they found the old hippy van and the professor asked where the time machine was and Fry pulled a bong out from below the seat. I could go on.

In an episode where bender wants a sex change he says "proffeser, make a woman out of me" and the proffeser replies "oh my no, i think we should just stay friends!"

The problem with Futurama was that it was too focused, there's only so much sci-fi you can lampoon without it getting stale. Yes it had it's simposn'esque and adult humour but the main focus was on sci-fi jokes. I'm more saddened with Family guy finishing though.

Love futurama. The most recent episode I have seen is where they go to the egyptian planet and Bender becomes Pharoe. Priceless.

I liked watching Futurama when it is was on. Is was funny and even more cartoon like and zany than The Simpsons because of it's zany setting. I felt as though Groenig and co. had went wild with their imaginations in every episode.

I heard that it had got canned, but couldn't believe it. Damn Fox!

I liked Dr. Zoidberg as well: "Woot, woot, woot!"

And Fry, priceless quotes from him. After Zoidberg chops his arm off in a fight while he's trying to talk to him; "Wha-? I'll kill you!" Smilie And so begins a mental fight scene.

And the other quotes from the same episode....quality.

The show is on at 2.00am in the morning (Saturday) on Channel 4.

Futurama is awesome. I wish that it wouldn't of been cancelled. Family Guy and Futurama are my 2 favorite shows and they both get cancelled.
(Though FG is coming back). IMO Simpsons should've been canned. Dont get me wrong I like the simpsons, but the episodes don't have the same appeal and are, again IMO, getting very lame.

My favorite quote. 'Benders getting a robot sex change' Fry: I won't watch this for it is wrong, sick, and twisted. I will however watch out of curiosity."
