This is the first one of these I've gotten to create. Half-way through the month and nobody has done it, yet? For shame, Cubed3!

He's not new, but because I don't listen to a whole lot of hip hop I've never heard of him. Immortal Technique a famous 'underground' rapper. He's not signed to any major labels, and just does his own thing. Some of his stuff I've heard is absolutely savage.

The one I posted is just a very good argument, with no swearing or horridness. He's basically talking about governments etc, then goes on to compare the machinations of music industry to the world economy. Anyway, he's extremely clever with his words (lyrics are in the vid, though they seem slightly wrong). I like him!

Yea, Immortal Technique is the rapper who goes most "hard". I'd say his most brutal song is Dance with the Devil. I'm sure you'll be able to take it, but some others on c3 should be warned.

Lately I've been listening a lot to Wax. His flow is insanely good.

He goes pretty hard too. Though, he's somehow also pretty good with a guitar in some other songs. Check out his two mixtapes, Scrublife, and Eviction Notice.

I've not really been listening to any new artists at all. I've mainly just been listening to the Kid Icarus: Uprising and Fez soundtracks.

I'll leave you with a nice little video of Jacob and the Guitar Man.

I've been also listening to Del the Funkee Homosapien.

This song has an insane amount of video game references.

Here's the intro song to his futuristic dystopian album. It's soooooooooo good.

I've been listening to soundtracks lately. I picked up the soundtrack for "Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire" at a book shop. I figured it was the game soundtrack, but apparently it was composed for the book (that the game in inspired by). I think bits of the soundtrack did actually find their way into the game, though. It was composed by a Joel McNeely, and he has proven to really good. He doesn't just try to copy John Williams, which is nice (if I wanted John Williams, I'd go listen his stuff). Joel McNeely brings a different touch to the Star Wars universe. I don't think there's ever been a waltz in a Star Wars movie:

Hey Martin and bornforthis, have you ever heard of Saul Williams? I really like what I've heard from him.

Scroobius Pip is also awesome. I learned about him from Cubed3. I'd guess Martin suggested it, but if not I really think you'd like him, Martin.

Yes! Saul Williams is amazing.

I've also been getting into spoken word poetry. Some stuff is crazy ridiculously good.

Oh and I absolutely love this.

I'm a humongous Lupe fan. I know I heard this song a loooooooooong time ago, but I didn't know who it was by.

It's actually a pretty cute and fun rap to listen to! I really love it when mc's are versatile.

Ah, because it's the May music thread? I couldn't be bothered to make a new one just to share one song. Smilie

That whole Bon Iver album is pretty great, I've been listening to it whilst working on my artwork. It's real nice and relaxed.
