One of the best fighting games of all time has finally made it's way onto the Wii's Virtual Console. Fans of both the platform and genre had been asking for The Last Blade since the Neo Geo arrived on Wii Virtual Console back in October 2007...

My current capture software cannot seem to capture Wii games, the PAL 60 image will display perfectly, but when I click capture the screen goes blank. I can however capture Virtual Console games like this one. I need to look into it further, I'm not too fussed as I bought the capture device for my old consoles.

My favourite character in The Last Blade has to be "Lee Cheng Long", his character is a homage to one of my heroes, "Wong Fei Hung", the legendary Chinese martial arts master from Foshan. Hong Kong film star, Jet Li, made a series of films in the 90's playing the role of Wong Fei Hung, the films were called "Once Upon a Time in China".

Try the NTSC433 setting instead of Pal60 and it should work. I have that problem with Arcsoftshowbiz.

Thanks, I'll give it a go! I thought I did though..

Might not work with your own model though, if it's not 100% the same piece of hardware, despite being a clone.

Ha, Star Parodier, I remember trying the actual disc, a friend of mine owns it on his PC engine Smilie.

How did you manage the correct aspect ratio in your video by the way ? In arcsoftshowbiz or videocap ?

I didn't have to do a thing, this game will run at it native resolution when played through NTSC 433, I'm guessing all Japanese VC games will. The only reason why Last Blade above looks different is because I cropped the black bars, and that in turn stretched the image when I then encoded to "Youtube HD" on VideoPad.
