TimeSplitters 4 Could Be Possible If People Like Facebook Page

Like the Facebook page please! Click here!

Fans of the TimeSplitters franchise have launched a Facebook Page that aims to get 100,000 Likes in an effort to convince Crytek to create TimeSplitters 4. Crytek's CEO and employees of the company are closely monitoring the Facebook Page, which at the time of writing currently has over 7,000 Likes.

Sure, these things rarely work, but fuck it - it's TimeSplitters! Even if you don't know about or like TS, you can still like it! Even if you don't like Facebook, make a fake account and like it!

I'd do anything to see this game. If there's even a small glimmer of hope by doing something like this, too right I'm doing it.

Update - TimeSplitters HD Collection petition has gone live. Target is 300k signatures.

Can you guys imagine a Wii U exclusive Time Splitters 4? With the level editor accessible on that nice touch screen? That's the kinda stuff that the Wii U needs!

I doubt this will happen. Crytek have pretty much said as much. But here's hoping.

Oh god yeah. Bang on. F-Zero/Mario Kart/Mario Bros level/track editors are perfect for the Wii U GamePad.

Map Maker in TS would be heaven on earth. Heaven on bloody earth I tells ya.

At least Yerli is saying it how it is. He's obviously a fan of the series and of Free Radical (might be why they bought them). Personally, I still can't convince my brain to like the idea of cloud-gaming. Video compression and latency are things I wouldn't want going on in my games. Especially FPS or action games where reactions are critical.

I'd like a TimeSplitters game that is rendered in real-time on my hardware. I'll accept a digital download (I swallowed that disgusting pill a while back). I think he's touching on the fact that brand-awareness is probably at an all-time low. There hasn't been a TimeSplitters in 7 years. I they released TS4 now, the majority reaction may be along the lines of "What is this? What happened to the other three?".

It's kinda interesting. Reading an interview by one of the founders of this petition, and Crytek know about it and are in support of it. It might not be out of the question to say this one might actually do something, so long as they do get a lot of numbers. Crytek said they don't know how big the fan community is. Hopefully this will show them.

I imagine the majority of people who bought Fallout 3 on Xbox had never heard of the first two games. If you advertise well and it looks fun, people will buy it. If it's popular and well praised, they could re-release the old games for cheap and make a bit more money since some people would want to know what the roots of this game are (I played the original Fallout for the first time just a few months ago).

Sorry for getting off topic a little bit, but I played Fallout 1 and 2(two of my favorite games ever) years before the idea of Fallout 3 even came up, so it was safe to say that I was super hyped about Fallout 3. I even bought it day one. To make a long story short, I was very disappointed with the game. It didn't feel like a fallout game at all, IMO. After 1 and 2, Fallout 3 just felt lifeless and dull.

And TAG, make sure you play Fallout 2 as well. It is by far the best in the series.

Back on topic, I feel like the majority of gamers I talk to know about the TimeSplitters series, and most have played it. The brand awareness may be larger than they think, so hopefully this will help show it.

For those that hadn't heard yet. TimeSplitters 2 HD was in development at one point!

Emily Rogers interviewed three veteran Rare/Free Radical employees who formed a company called Crash Lab: Steve Ellis, Martin Wakeley, and Lee Musgrave.

We had a "HD" downloadable version of TimeSplitters 2 in development at Free Radical in 2008. I don't know what happened to that but yes, I'd love to see it released at some point. Maybe it could be the catalyst that is required in order to raise enough interest in TimeSplitters 4 that a publisher might want to fund it.

Crytek saying if this petition reaches its 300,000 signature goal, it will put the case forward and there may be a future for TimeSplitters. An HD version of TS2, maybe a collection. Hopefully a TS4 leading on from that. Small steps, though.

Everyone please sign it. There's a chance it might just work. Even if you aren't a fan or haven't heard of TimeSplitters, this series means a lot to its fans. The fact that this petition is acknowledged by Crytek means it isn't worthless.

Sign it, share it! Smilie
