Hi everyone,

It's taken quite a bit of deliberation, but signature images have been disabled across the site. Font-size tags have also been disabled too.

Reason being is that these can tend to be distracting when reading through comments and not many other gaming sites use them these days (outside forums).

Apologies for this sudden move, but I feel it will make readability clearer, especially for newer users and visitors - hopefully also encouraging more comments/discussion.

If you've got any questions, please feel free to ask!

Many thanks,
JB

Smilie Aw man.

While I know they can be distracting, wouldn't stricter sig rules be ok too? i.e. only one or two images of a certain total size are allowed - or maybe sig images only appear on forum posts and not news posts.

Boo. Gonna have to be more imaginative with my links now. Smilie

I actually prefer this, i was never really a fan of sigs anyway and agree they are distracting and cluttering!

There should be an option where users can turn them on and off. The default setting can have them turned off so it still meets the criteria you were looking to fulfill. I know some other websites do this.

This, or perhaps have them turned off for Guests/mobile C3 or at least by default. Is there a problem with giving visible sig images to those who want them? I can see it being distracting for Guests and quick comment searching, but for C3 regulars or those who want to get more into the community itself, Sig images are a good form of expression! C3 is a lot more of a forum than a series of Disqis comments for News posts (though I can certainly understand wanting news comment threads in particular to be sleeker).

Y'know what they say, a picture has a thousand words.
Either way I've said my piece on this, I'll respect either decision that's made even if I don't particularly agree with it.
