The most are 30 something overweight obsessive geeks who enjoy wearing tight t-shirts
Well I was wondering wether this was true or not?

Well im not fat. I'm one of the best at sports in my class yet i don't exercise much but play alot of games.

No, that kind of generalisation holds very little truth anymore. Especially with gaming becoming bigger and bigger and more and more people beginning to take an interest in it, there has to be more variety out there than that type of description.

Nope, I doubt there are very many of us like that.
I'm thin and young for example.
It didn't even have much basis years ago, as my brother was playing videogames at least 2 years before I was born, and he was never the fat, geeky type.
{Guild}Ohmdal: But how did you get the poo inside of the box when the goat was sleeping on top of it?
{Guild}Ohmdal: oops wrong chat

there are gamers like that, but I'm not one...
I'm average weight, young, not nerdy
....
its true, there are veeeeeery few girls who like games
...
sorry for the hurried typing, I''m being kicked off the PC by my dad
!@#$%^!@#$%

Im 30 exactly today.....im 5 foot 6 and 90 kg's and i love wearing really really tight t-shirts
ok so im lying
6 foot 1 skinny skinny...play lots of sport and computer games....tight t shirts not really me

What a nasty and horrible thread, I know but most are not like this but most ppl that dont play game say we are?
I'm not about to stop playing when I get to 30 or if I get fat

Hmm, it's just the standard generalisation; means nothing. If someone parades about and puts you in that statement, ignore it - they're just narrow minded.

fat geeks or thin geeks... or just geeks I'd say.
that is my view of hardcore gamers, when I say "hardcore" it's people who would complain about "casual" gamers, the whiney bastards
< Edited by LeroyZero on 2004/7/3 13:28 >

Yes, curse those hardcore whiners
Hmm, doesn't that make us whiney casual gamers?
{Guild}Ohmdal: But how did you get the poo inside of the box when the goat was sleeping on top of it?

I'm whining at whiney people, therefore the whininess is negated.
and justice prevails!

I breakdance, so i dont think being fat is an option for me

the mental image of a fat breakdancer just made me laugh ![]()

LMAO
I agree. It doesn't matter who plays crap games, or who has no life....
just stop whining![]()

Welcome to the sterotypical world that we live in.......
Just to let you know I'm nonme of the mentioned but just a person that enjoys games. Any way if there are fat middle aged people out there that enjoy playing games, personally I think thats great! Ok my dads a lillte bit older than that but wouldn't you love to be ale to give you old amn a game of Timesplitters or SSBM with out kicking his arse with in the first 10 seconds?
Playing games with friends is just another past time that many people enjoy and to be honest I don't know a single fat middle aged person that plays computer games...

thats crap - im 13, im top set for all my lessons, and probably in top 5 in year, BUT, im not fat, I play loads of sports, for my county too, although I am very much becoming the hardcore gamer. So what, that steroytpying is wrong!

And Frazzle's brother is the last person you want to be calling geeky, actually Frazzle's brother is the last person you want to be calling....period.

NO COMMENT ON MY WEIGHT!

I'm not fat, and I play Tennis, Ski race, And I have started weight training too.
That has got to be one of the steriotypes I have seen.

Such wisdom.
As for me, well I am 38, thinnish (getting a bit of a belly but that's down to married life) and I have a pretty good social life. There are plenty of people fitting the stereotype and many who do not. As for getting my ass kicked at games, only this morning my son asked for my help on OoT - so I do have my uses still.

Hmm...I think there's a difference between gamers and geeks. I know loads of gamers, they're definetley not geeky, but I know some people who don't play games and are stick thin, and geeky as they come.
I'm thin due to having a growth spurt of 6cm a month (seriously!) I hardly play games any more. I'm just shy, and uncool. Wait, am I a geek?

I bloody hate generalisations like this. yes there are obviously fat 30 something geeks who play games but how many of us on this site are FAT 30 SOMETHING GEEKS.
I DOnt think even one.

I'll say it one's more
is a nasty and horrible thread, I know but most are not like this but most ppl that dont play game say we are?
playing games are not see have doing same thing unlike waching TV
so there you get fat it you dont go to the GYM every day

Well I'm a skinny twat but I'm definitely a geek... so that holds some truth for me.

I'm normal enough. I think a lot of 'hardcore gamers' tend to fit in with that image, but as the industry gets more widely excepted and mainstream, it isn't so odd and acne infested
