Electronic Arts is being developing the game and will publish it exclusively for the DS.

It is based on the Nintendo 64 game.

It will support 8-16 players and there is a possibility of wi-fi multiplayer via the internet.

Right now, we don't know if it's using the same engine or it is being rebuilt.

it may not be as good as it EA that doing it but it will be cool Smilie

Cubed3 Member

Game they being developing, properly english in game?

Cubed3 Member

I'd much rather they port over the ORIGINAL then they're shameless plug! It wouldn't be so bad, if they just changed the title to 007 Fallen Agent or something, but not just try and leech of the originals' success.

Its being developed by EA = it'll be crap.

Now now, the past can never predict the future, the world is ever changing all that Smilie

'Goldeneye 2' Rogue agent is looking set to be quite good, so don't jump to conclusions just yet Beam! Smilie

They have no right to rip off goldeneye like that - I don't care what legal rights they have to the licence - Goldeneye is rare's game and EA lack the talent to do it justice.

Cubed3 Member

You have to admit though. The original Golden Eye on DS would sell shed loads, don't like the idea of EA playing at being Rare because they automatically put high expectations on their own shoulders by saying they are making a golden eye game.

Rare might be bringing Perfect Dark to DS anyway. Last time I heared they had the first level up and running to test the hardware to see if it would work well.

Cubed3 Member

Who do Rare make games for again? Microsoft??? Smilie

Any ways its great to heat bout perfect dark DS

Cubed3 Member

This is SO sodding annoying. We confirmed this news like a month ago, it was confirmed on a press release sent out yonks ago. Why people are getting excited about it now some site has decided to make an 'exclusive' the Lord only knows... Smilie

Trying to think of a witty signature after 'Hacker-gate'...
Cubed3 Member

I did say It is based on the Nintendo 64 game

I agree with BEAM. EA hasn't done any game about Bond perfectly. EON was stupid and agent under fire and nightfire sucked. Now they're announcing goldeneye:Rogue agent. When i first heard about goldeneye 2, i was glittering with joy. The greatest FPS ever was having a sequel!!! What i got however was a rip off where you don't play bond but instead, the bad guys. Are you f*****g with me? This isn't what i hoped for. Perfect dark WOULD be better than that crap.anyways, back on topic. To EA: Leave the game how it is and just add online or connectivity or whatever. To RARE: Do the same thing.

Cubed3 Member

Smilie well iam not going to play NBA street Smilie but yes I have and they are

Cubed3 Member

^Those games listed are very average and with so many great games coming from Nintendo why should I settle for 2nd best?

This Goldeneye game won't be based on the N64 version. Nintendo owns the rights to the code - they won't be able to port it they will have to make a new game engine and re-create the levels from scratch. Anything that says otherwise is just hype.

Cubed3 Member

Ok BEAM now you are changing your tune. Please do not call a company crap if you thin ktheir games are actually average. Which they arent they are great fun and solid games.

The games listed are ones that are fun to play, they're just not excellent or astounding in terms of a game. But good nonetheless. EA as a company, it is really money first, in their case, but as I've said before, if gamers didn't like EA games, EA wouldn't make money off them, so it's our fault for encouraging them!

Cubed3 Member

EA as a company, it is really money first, in their case,

Nintendo are money first. Every gaming company is money first. Thats an invalid and unfair point to make EA out as an example as a company out to make money first,.
Heres the industtry as I see it.

Companies want to make money (nintnendo too)
So they make good games.
We like these games cos they are good and so they buy them
ergo the companies make more profit and continue to make god games to get good profits and be happy.

EA are about profit. EA make good games.
Nintendo are about profit. Nintendo make great games so make more profit.

EA do NOT make crap games.

All companies put money first, yes. But companies like EA make money by cutting corners and rushing games to maximise profit. Nintendo on the other hand prefer to get money by taking their time to make extremely high quality products in order to build up a good reputation and a fanbase who will loyaly buy their games.

Cubed3 Member

EA do NOT make crap games.

umm.. have you ever played some of there movie licensed games?

Word up brother!!

I hate to burst your bubble but Goldeneye is NOT coming out on the DS. It is a port of Goldeneye: Rouge Agent. Just a few sites have some questionable sources and not properely researched stories, this is a rumour at best. Other sites that covered the story have withdrawn this story and the most reliable *cough* Cube-Europe *cough* never even covered it because they used reliable sources.

SSX tricky 1 and 2 - ill have 1080, plus its an EA big game thats different to EA games
NBA street - EA big game
Def Jam vendetaa - EA big game
Lord of the rings rotk - crap EA games
Need for speed - shit EA games
The sims bustin out - crap too

The fact is, that news post was about as reliable as well, its source. nintendojo, they have had many things wrong in the past, as has cubed-3. i think the problem is you jump to conclusions, it probably will be goldeneye but it wont run on the same engine as EA cant replicate it, and would be beraking laws. beam is correct, it wont be any good at all. clam down people, its not GoldeneEye 64 port. c3 jumped to conclusions... I was excited too, but it can only be a perfect replication if EA Rare and Nintendo work on the game, there are clauses which prevent it other wise.
