Just wondering if we have any Embrace listeners/fans here at C3.

It's a band I really like, though admittedly have only one album, 'drawn from memory', but I shall be getting the new #1 album 'Out Of Nothing' soon.

The new singles are awesome, as good as if not better than the awesome drawn from memory tracks.

Top band.

Embrace... hmm. Breasts. Oh, sorry - I haven't heard of them, what genre are they?

Hmm, not sure really.

As much as it pains me they might be classed as 'pop' - pisses me off as they are a squillion times better than most pop bands.

Quite like a Gomez type band, best I can think of, nice uplifting accoustics and good lyrics etc.

Just a real nice all round band Smilie

Cool - I just listened to samples from: http://www.embrace.co.uk/go/outofnothing/

Gravity and Spell It Out, sound really nice, upbeat and perhaps not as 'pop' as I expected when you said that - pretty snazzy band, - thankfully it didn't come up with pervy search results in google!

I haven't liked what I've heard. What should I listen to?

Staff Member

If you've listened to Gravity and Spell it Out, also Ashes, from JB's link and not been so keen then that's about it. Also try the Drawn From Memory album, especially drawn from memory itself - and a few others, if your still not too keen then that's ot really, Embrace in a nutshell and not your thing.

The drawn from memory album holds high regard with me, a great album fot listening to in the Garden/chilling out/remeniscing of love found and lost.

Better tagged as Indie I suppose, just those 'entertainment' twats who label it as 'pop'. The same fuckers who put the might Brown in as 'pop' *racks up 12 boar and goes a hunting*

Ah well, embrace don't float my boat... Smilie

(just found a band that do, but i'll leave it for another thread sometime)

No probs, they are a pretty unique band - not very mainstream, so not to many peoples liking.

And I agree with you Rob, DFM was a really sublime album. The new stuff is still pretty good though.

They are so mainstream!

Indie (in the musical meaning), but they are in NO way underground!

Hmm. Didn't realise they were that mainstream - but I suppose I'm not a mainstream man - more into my mates showing me stuff, having a Jam/party and hearing new stuff - like with DFM.

But yeah they aren't 'underground' - that's for sure.

I dont care what they are, or what they are classified as, but Gravity among some other tracks is currently whizzing down my USB cable to my Mp3 player.

Never heard of them.

I'm downloading a few songs from winMX now.

Afraid I don't like Embrace at all; I've had to endure them live at a couple of festivals (just after their first album came out) and they were just boring live (imo). I've heard a couple of tracks off the new album, but they didn't really do anything for me whatsoever. I always thought they were just an indie-lite band; chart-friendly guitar music. Not really my thang. Sorry. Smilie

Cubed3 Member

Listened to theirs songs.

Gotta go with the trend here and say that they are da Suxorz.

Pity. I downloaded a whole album too! Smilie

Bought the first album a long long time ago and i reckon its a great album, then they went a bit dull and I heard the latest album and once again its great.

A decent group, not outstanding but recognisable.

Never met one, besides my spelling on PC's sucks anyway - makes variables in C++ fun sometimes Smilie
