i think theyre doing that one for the Ds where you have to rub the stylus up and down on the screen to make him run.
sounds pretty lame.

That was a demo of what the DS could do. I doubt that will actually be Sonic DS, which is on the way.

i believe sonic is done for this generation.
hopefully next geneartion, will there be a better sonic game.

I really did want to not just like, but love the current Sonic games, but I can't. It's the same with Mario Sunshine - it just doesn't stick with me. The whole point of Sonic was a great sense of speed and the skill and timing necessary to go with that, but now we're getting close to average/good platformers, which are fine, but a disappointment coming from the guys who showed it was possible to create something better than Mario.
{Guild}Ohmdal: But how did you get the poo inside of the box when the goat was sleeping on top of it?

Don't get me wrong, but to me it wasn't about the speed so much - Sonic was about the exploration, looking for the lush environments and trying to become that all powerful Super Sonic as you trailed through the Mystic Caverns of Sonic 2....
...huh?
Well, to me Sonic was the best in the Sega Megadrive days, and the follow-ups, to me, have been nothing short of boring. Sonic Adventure 1 is okay, but I feel Sonic Team became a little offputting when Sonic became scripted and cheesy.
Sure, sonic's cool, but he doesn't have to prance about with giant shoes like a fucking clown on dope. Erm. Sonic looked better in the Mega Drive days, his upgraded image and the upgraded games to me were a little... shit.
Erm! Sorry to rant off in my little corner, but yeah, Sonic is appearing on the DS and hopefully a little less cheesy, a little more classic hedgehog fun!

Mario is just a fat wanker, who prances about in dungerees, and has a penchant for 'ass-pounding' his foes.
Mario = gay.

How dare you call mario gay!!!!!

Yeah...why do 2D classics look like they've been raped in 3D?*
*See: Simpsons, Garfield, Tetris, etc
EDIT: Uh....Nintendo characters on the whole are gay....StarFox - space mecenaries and the best bum-chums in the galaxy, Mario - you're kidding, right? Fat, italian with a mustache. GaaaAAAAAAY. And Link....white tights, remember?
White tights.

Because JB was running Sonic down, so I had to illustrate how cool Sonic is! Especially when compared to that homosexual salad-dodger, Mario!

Right... Anyway, Mario gets into this topic... er, how? You seem obscessed with Mario and gays... Hmm.
HMM.

Am I... gay? o_0

Salad-dodger?

Anyway....
I had most of the Sonic games on the Megadrive apart from Sonic Spinball and Dr Robotniks Mean Bean Machine. I found tthat they were my best games at the time on par with Ristar. Great games.
Then, we come to the Sonic Adventures. These require minimal skill, all the pretty loops are done by holding forwards usually and thats not fun. Nice graphics but not too impressive gameplay wise.
Not to mention Sonic Advance 2. Most of those levels require you to just press the right button.....

Sonic 2D = Great
Sonic 3D = Shite
Some how Nintendo made 3D work with their main characters y cant Sega do the same.
I wouldnt mind seeing another 2D sonic game for DS and the special stages could be 3D like the old games instead this time the 3D would look good, maby that E3 demo could have been a special stage hmmm..

Anyway... how do you think Sonic DS is going to implement the DS hardware? I don't think it'll be the jerk off simulation they showed at E3, somehow.

Maybe the Sonic Team will do something like NEW Super Mario Bros...
(wishful thinking)

Hold on a minute
Sonic adventure 1 needs no skill? Good luck getting through those A emblems.
And I've said this before and I'll say it again. Advance games = 2D, Advance 2 = poor game, Therefore 2D not > 3D.
The problem is that Sonic wasn't defined in the classic years. You could try and get all 267 rings on Green hill or you could do it in 28 seconds. Now it has been defined, one that gives a very easy story but depth in the scoring system. Many don't go for the A's therefore they feel disappointed. Getting all 180 emblems on Sonic Adventure 2 was brilliant.
The same goes for Sonic's image. Some are even happy that Sonic X went with the two world system because it can have Mobius in it, alongside Earth. Many base their views on what Sonic should be on elements the liked from the multiple universes of Sonic. It was easy to do because the games themselves were very open to interpretation. The Manuals were either poorly translated or ST weren't thinking when they defined certain aspects of the world.
(If you believe the european manual Knuckles lives on The Floating Island that's held up with the Chaos Emeralds)

What i meant was the way you play. Most of the time you are holding forwards and tricky looking loops and paths are nothing. Like i said gameplay wise its not too good. As for the emblems etc, its lazy replay value. ![]()

I dont know. I just hope its not like sonic heroes.

And then there is Kirby, a pink ball of fluff, the straightest games character ever. He made pink cool man.
Though Toad and Yoshi, come on! And Wario and Waluigi, I don't think they just hang out with each other due to the same first two letters in thier name. As for Bowser, you think he keeps Baby Boweser around for fun? Eh-nah!
Oh yeah Sonic, I think they should stick a 2D Sonic game on the DS with 3D graphics, and use the stylus to move Sonic and make him jump in certain sections, like in bonus stages. The 3D games were fun while they lasted, but flawed.

I never realised that until I read your post. Oh my god. ![]()
Anyway, I think home console wise, sonic is done for this generation. I agree that his cheesy american voicing was extremely crap and off-putting, and the games were merely average compared to the old 2D titles. But that can all change next generation.
I'd like the Sonic Team to basicaly recreate Sonic, stop him from opening his american trap and re-invent the 3D Sonic Genre. And of course kick out the "gang", apart from Tails, Knucles, Dr Robotnick and so on.
Who were those two very old charecters from the cartoon series years and years ago, NOT Sonic X. A robot type thing and a.. eh, chicken? They would make good returns.

Scratch and Grounder!
They were in Mean Bean Machine and I think that was there only gaming outing, would be cool to see them back in 3D!

No it wouldn't, Scratch and Grounder were cringe worthy examples of Sega's mistakes.
IMO of course ![]()
