It was all about the Crimson Heads. Killing a zombie, but not really knowing if it'd ever rise again as a deadly Crimson Head is one of gaming's most scary things ever. They basically just took RE1, and turned the scare factor up to 11. Lisa Trevor helped, too.

I know what you mean. I resented RE4 for awhile, as it's way too easy, and pretty short.. But in the end, the series did need an overhaul, and RE4 provided just that.. While I believe REmake is the best RE of them all, that's not to the detriment of RE4. And look how amazing RE5 is turning out- all thanks to RE4.

But I maintain, any RE2 remake [i]must[/u] be in the same vain as the RE1 remake.( Edited 19.06.2008 00:04 by Martin_ )

Maybe it's me. If I play a game that is named after a series, I expect it to feel like that series.

RE4 could have been named "capcom action game" and it wouldnt have made a difference.

gonna have to with Martin on this one. REmake simply is RE at its best. Still creeps the shit out of me. While RE4 wasn't scary at all. Just erie.

I dunno, I liked what RE4 did. It certainly completely changed Resident Evil, but they couldn't really have achieved much more with the old 'static camera angle, etc' formula. It needed a change, and they changed it. I don't dislike or discredit RE4 or 5. I merely would not like to see RE2 remade RE4-style. I want tit to get the amazing make-over that RE1 got. REmake is the best RE of all. Even better than RE4.

RE4 and 5 have been 'next genified' so that they dont play like they should.This has happened to most games that are still running from the PS1 era.

Don't get me wrong, RE4 was good but it's not my idea of "resident evil"

Yeah. It goes RE2>RE1>and then RE3 and RE:CV tied for third. REmake beats them all, of course.

RE4 wasnt a RE game. Propper fans will recognise that.

RE is about ebeing able to turn on the stop whilst walking forwards or backwards.

Isn't Resident Evil 2 considered to be the best out of the original 4?

RE4 or RE1 style. Either way as long as it came on a Disc for the Wii I'd buy it.
