As a rule I'm not a fan of superhero stuff, but this Batman trilogy is about the only superhero flick I have been interested in. Rises was awesome and there definitely was some emotional stuff going on. Catwoman was walking sex.

Comment by Marzy, on 23.07.2012 at 12:46

It's very sad to hear about the shootings, indeed. I always wonder what drives people to do such things.

I'll be going to see this now, since my friends invited me to go and see it with them next Saturday. I would have much rather seen the new Spider-Man film, but I'm fine to watch this if that's what they want to see. Maybe I'll like it more than the other two. If it has similarities, then probably not.

I really had a hard time following the previous two and probably found them dull because of that. Maybe I'm just dumb though...( Edited 23.07.2012 19:20 by Marzy )

Comment by Jacob4000, on 20.07.2012 at 23:44

Really unfortunate. Colorado has had enough to deal with lately with the wildfires, let alone this tragedy. It's just sad that there are people like that in the world.

Still looking forward to seeing the film myself tonight.

Comment by The Strat Man, on 20.07.2012 at 23:24

I read on one website that the gunman had died his hair red and claimed to be 'the Joker'. This was the most sickening news I have ever woken up to. I spent a year abroad in Boulder, Colorado which is no more than a half hour away from Denver (and Aurora, the suburb where this happened). It was surreal enough knowing this, and having to go on Facebook and check that nobody I knew was involved. I just got back from work and checked again only to notice that somebody from my creative writing class out there was present. I don't remember much about him but I remember he was a huge Zelda fan, so our type of people. It is crazy to think that this has happened.

Comment by Lrrr, on 20.07.2012 at 19:54

It's saddening to hear about the Colorado shooting during a screening of this, which left 12 dead and many others injured. I would talk more in depth about the film, but this news pretty much dominates

The Daily Mail have already tried to link it with the The Dark Knight Returns storyline

Whilst some earlier reports linked the gunman to Bane (because he wore a gas mask...ignoring the fact that he used gas in the attack and it shielded himself)

Comment by Lrrr, on 18.07.2012 at 23:26

Here be spoilers of my first impressions. Be warned...this is a film you should see for yourselves. I'm not going to give away any major spoilers at this point, but I know some people will want to see it without even a vague spoiler.

You have been warned
This truly is an amazing film, closing off the Bruce Wayne story. There were a few parts hat felt that they were dragging, but as soon as you start feeling like that the story moves on.

The story goes full circle with a couple of lines from Batman Begins being important to a couple of characters back stories, whilst events from the Dark Knight become the catalyst to other events

When I first heard Bane was the villain, I was a little unsure how he would fit in with the rest of the universe created here - but he works in the context and origins. Whilst there were early concerns over audability, this has been addressed for this release (although in some parts he does seem a bit loud, and his expression doesn't always match what is said.)

There are some appearances from familiar faces in the film, one of them a relatively light moment amongst the grimness of the rest of the film.

The performances over all were brilliant, Hathaway has a kind of sexiness, Hardy emotes around his restrictive costume. Michael Caine brings the most emotional performance though.

Overall, the film is brilliant. 9/10 (loses marks for a couple of predictable moments, although there are a couple of neat twists. And one character could have done with a bit more screen time explaining who they were rather than just a sudden reveal)
( Edited 20.07.2012 00:27 by Lrrr )

Comment by Marzy, on 17.07.2012 at 09:04

I can't say I'm interested in this, personally. I didn't like Batman Begins or The Dark Knight, so I doubt this will be any different.

I preferred Tim Burtons take on Batman. Even then though, I'm still not a massive fan, I just think they're better.

( Edited 17.07.2012 09:57 by Marzy )

Comment by God, on 16.07.2012 at 23:46

When I read this, all I can think of is Sarah from Team America: World Police; "I sense Gary is in great danger".
