Shanker started gaming from an early age with the original Game Boy and classic titles such as Tetris, Super Mario Land 2 and Duck Tales. He dabbled in PC gaming, but spent most of his time playing games on Nintendo consoles, while also sampling classic titles on the PS2, Xbox 360 and PS3. Today, Shanker splits the majority of his gaming time between his PC, Wii U and 3DS, but his 360 and PS3 remain connected for easy access to classics that are unavailable elsewhere.

Over the years, many series have caught Shanker’s attention, including The Legend of Zelda, Metroid and Super Mario. While Shanker cannot play games as much as he used to, he always manages to make time for Mario Kart and Smash Bros on the Wii U. Modern technology also helps him squeeze in extra gaming as he can replay his old favourites, like Knights of the Old Republic, on his phone, as well as experience new titles, like Fire Emblem: Awakening, on his 3DS.
