UK Chart Analysis: Battlefield 6’s First Week Debut Slays Ghost of Yotei

The UK chart for the week ending 11th October is dominated by a huge debut, as Battlefield 6 storms straight in at number one. Electronic Arts’ latest shooter is overwhelmingly PS5‑driven, with 82% of sales on Sony’s console, while Xbox accounts for the remainder. Just behind, EA Sports FC 26 holds firm at number two, showing broad appeal across formats — PS5 leads with 61%, but PS4, Switch, and Xbox all contribute meaningfully. Last week’s leader, Ghost of Yotei, slips to third, still performing strongly as a PS5 exclusive.

Nintendo continues to demonstrate remarkable staying power. Mario Kart World and Super Mario Galaxy + Galaxy 2 remain in the top five, while Minecraft and Donkey Kong Bananza hold steady in the top ten. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe climbs sharply back into ninth, proving its evergreen appeal. Elsewhere, Little Nightmares III makes a strong debut at number six, with PS5 accounting for just over half of sales (51%), but Switch and Switch 2 together contributing a healthy 33%. Re‑entries add further variety: EA Sports UFC 5 returns at thirty with a near‑total PS5 share (98%), while Bluey: The Videogame re‑enters at thirty‑one, driven by Switch at 86%.

There are notable falls, too. Silent Hill f drops from No.6 to No.21, with PS5 still making up 85% of its sales. Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles tumbles from No.5 to No.29, split between Switch (61%) and PS5 (39%). Bandai Namco maintains a solid presence with Digimon Story: Time Stranger (90% PS5) up a place to No.13, The Witcher III Complete Edition (93% PS5) slipping one to No.37, and Elden Ring: Nightreign, down three to No.38.

Warner Bros. sees Hogwarts Legacy climb back up seven to No.14, with sales spread evenly across PS5 and Switch, while LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga rises into nineteenth, split between PS5 (46%) and Switch (31%). Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2025 Edition continues to dominate on Switch with a 97% share, and EA’s back catalogue remains strong with multiple titles scattered throughout the chart. Overall, this week is defined by major new entries at the top, strong re‑entries in the middle, and Nintendo’s evergreen titles anchoring the chart. EA emerges as the dominant publisher, while Sony and Nintendo maintain consistent strength across exclusives and long‑running favourites.
