Honeydew Sleep has grown from a family‑run experiment into one of the most distinctive voices in modern comfort design. Founded by Jonathan and Evita Kunke, the company blends generational craftsmanship, hands‑on industry experience and a deep understanding of anatomy to rethink what a pillow can be. Their approach rejects mass‑market shortcuts in favour of intentional materials, adaptive support and a philosophy shaped by real‑world pain, recovery and customer insight. This interview explores the origins of Honeydew, the thinking behind its proprietary copper‑infused fill, and the values that continue to guide the brand as it expands its role in the wider comfort‑tech landscape.

Adam Riley, Director at Cubed3: Honeydew Sleep began as a deeply personal mission. Can you share how your own sleep journeys shaped the brand’s founding vision?
Jonathan and Evita Kunke, Founders of Honeydew: Honeydew Sleep is truly built on generational entrepreneurship. Jonathan’s father grew up in the restaurants that his parents owned, and that entrepreneurial spirit had been passed down to his father by his grandfather, who also ran his own businesses. Each generation seemed to adjust the business ventures to their particular interests but the desire to forge their own path was the consistent driving force. Jonathan’s father, Fred started his own business in 1987, and it happened to be in the bedding industry. Jonathan was four years old at the time, so he grew up in the mattress stores that his father opened. His youth was shaped by witnessing how people’s lives could be changed by improving their sleep and he developed a passion for it along the way. Fred loved the hustle and bustle of the sales floor and working directly with customers to meet their needs. Although Jonathan also excelled at this, he was more of an inventor at heart. Rather than taking a departure into a different industry, he simply made a small pivot in the same field, instinctively knowing that he could make his own meaningful impact. In the meantime, Evita, Jonathan’s wife, felt like it was fate when she ended up with a husband that worked in the bedding industry. Prior to them even dating she had experienced firsthand how profoundly life-changing a sleep surface can be when it came to her own health and well-being. She already had a built-in love and understanding for the sleep industry when she joined Jonathan and began working in the mattress stores, as well. She didn’t come from a business background, but her strengths were creativity and empathy for the needs of others. Working together, Jonathan and Evita developed an extensive knowledge of anatomy and the science of support, which allowed them to educate each of their customers on the right sleep products for their specific bodies. Over the years, it became increasingly clear that something was missing, and this discovery led them to creating a product that would drastically shift the trajectories of their lives. It began as a project but quickly became a lifetime pursuit to innovate products in the sleep industry, starting with the often overlooked, yet immensely essential, pillow.
Adam Riley: You’ve described mass production as the enemy of true comfort. What does “obsessive craftsmanship” mean in practice — and how does it show up in your pillows?
Jonathan and Evita Kunke: Where mass production optimises for speed and sameness, we optimise for superior sleep. From what we have experienced in our industry, mass production often shifts the focus from purpose to profits. As volume increases, manufacturers understandably want to lower costs and simplify processes so that they can pump out pillows at a rapid pace. Unfortunately, this often causes them to prioritise quantity over quality. Obsessive craftsmanship means never cutting corners that could compromise comfort. We design our pillows from the inside out, with structure and support that serve real sleep posture, and a proprietary fill blend engineered to feel buoyant, responsive, and consistent night after night. We obsess over the parts customers never see: how the fill behaves over time, how the construction maintains performance, how the pillow stays adjustable so it can become your perfect fit, not just our idea of one. When we say, “obsessive craftsmanship,” we mean a level of attention that most brands simply can’t justify at scale because it requires care, iteration, and control. For Honeydew, craftsmanship starts with a belief that pressure relief and alignment are the cornerstones of comfort, and we will never sacrifice either, no matter what it costs.
We also don’t freeze the product in time. We evolve it. We’ve made major revisions over the years because we pay attention to what actually happens after hundreds of nights. If we discover a better way, whether it’s durability, consistency, or comfort, we implement it, even when it makes production harder – and it often does. That’s what craftsmanship looks like in practice: the willingness to do the extra work when nobody’s watching, so that when our customers finally lay down, they feel the difference immediately. When someone sleeps on a Honeydew pillow, what they feel is the outcome of thousands of small decisions: materials, cut, blend, construction, liner/containment, consistency, and the willingness to keep improving even when no one is forcing you to. And honestly? It’s also personal. Honeydew started as something we were making with our own hands. In the beginning, it was literally a family-level, dining-room-table do-it-yourself operation, with Evita’s mom sewing all of our pillow covers by hand. That DNA has never left us. We’ve just scaled it without losing the obsession.

Adam Riley: Copper-infused foam is a bold choice. What led you to develop your proprietary fill, and how does it support spinal alignment and cooling in real-world use?
Jonathan and Evita Kunke: Everything we do at Honeydew is extremely intentional, and every material has to be exceptional in order to earn its place. As mattress and sleep specialists, we spent years seeing the same problem over and over again. The pillows that existed on the market were forcing a compromise between comfort and support. Pillows that felt soft and luxurious often lacked the structural support to keep the sleeper in alignment, as well as fell flat over time. On the other hand, supportive pillows were largely far too firm, causing pressure points, numbness, and pain, defeating the very purpose they were meant to serve. Our proprietary copper-infused fill was born from a refusal to accept the compromise that defined most pillows. We wanted something that could feel soft, beautiful, and indulgent, while still offering the kind of adaptive support that allows the neck and spine to rest in better alignment.
The development of our proprietary fill was about more than just inventing a new material blend; it was about creating a better relationship between the body and the pillow. The copper-infused foam is part of what makes that possible. One of the most important ways to improve sleep quality is to regulate temperature. We specifically chose copper because it is scientifically proven to be far more effective at cooling than gel-based memory foam. As an added bonus, it is also naturally antibacterial and antimicrobial, which helps keep your pillow fresh night after night. Copper-infused foam became a meaningful innovation because it helped us achieve a sleep experience that feels not only indulgent, but performance-oriented. Although copper contributes to a cooler feel, it is truly the architecture of the fill that delivers unmatched breathability and conformability. This means the sleeper gets support where it matters, but in a way that still feels luxurious, inviting and effortless. We created something that could be both exceptionally plush, and at the same time structurally intelligent; a fill that could cradle the body with softness while still supporting the head, neck, and shoulders in a way that encourages more natural spinal alignment.
That balance is at the heart of Honeydew. We believe true luxury is not just about how something feels in the first moment, but how technically sound it is, and how beautifully it continues to perform night after night. We believe that the magic happens when performance and comfort stop competing and start working together. That is when you truly find your sweet spot.
Adam Riley: With over 50 pillow brands passing through your stores, what did you learn about the industry — and what did you feel was missing?
Jonathan and Evita Kunke: With over 50 pillow brands passing through our stores, we gained an unusually intimate view of the category. We also got to develop a rare perspective because we weren’t just seeing the products on a shelf, we were seeing how real people responded to them, how they talked about them, and how often they came in still looking for relief. What stayed with us was that so many people were settling for something that wasn’t right for them, not out of choice, but because the right pillow simply didn’t exist. It became abundantly clear that much of the industry was designed around convention rather than true innovation. Time and time again we saw how much thought and technology went into the development of a mattress, and yet pillows were not getting that same consideration. The biggest lesson we learned was that this category was full of shortcuts and compromises. Again and again, we saw products that excelled in one dimension but fell short in others – plushness without support, support without comfort, or innovation claims without meaningful long-term benefit.
We also felt that many brands treated pillows as if one option should somehow work for everybody, and we knew from experience that that wasn’t true. Sleep and comfort are deeply personal. Sleep position matters. Shoulder width matters. Body shape matters. Comfort preferences matter. What felt like it was missing was a deeper level of intention and genuine care. The industry was in desperate need of a more elevated philosophy of product design: one that treated the pillow not as an afterthought, but as an essential part of the sleep experience. The key was to bring in a more thoughtful approach, one rooted in spinal alignment, and committed to adaptability, material integrity, and real-world comfort. Overall, the pillow category was being overlooked, so we decided that we needed to shift the perspective and highlight the pillow as a self-care item, and an essential component of a healthy sleep system. We felt there was space for a pillow brand that was genuinely obsessed with how the product performs, how it solves problems for the sleeper, and how it enhances their quality of life by meaningfully and profoundly having a positive impact on their quality of sleep. We believed there was room for something more refined and more intelligent, a pillow that could feel luxurious while also delivering elevated support for spinal alignment and restorative sleep.
Our knowledge, experience, respect and love for the sleep industry empowered us to bring the expertise necessary to create the kind of pillow we felt had been missing; one that was intentional in every respect. Designed with genuine care, engineered for alignment, built to be adjustable and enduring, and crafted to make a meaningful difference in people’s sleep. That’s what led us to create Honeydew. We didn’t want to make just another pillow, we dreamed of making the kind of pillow we felt people had been searching for all along. Our mission became to create products that were not only beautiful and indulgent but deeply considered in how they perform and transform people’s lives.

Adam Riley: Evita’s story of overcoming a debilitating back condition without surgery is powerful. How does that experience continue to influence your product philosophy today?
Jonathan and Evita Kunke: Evita’s experience with a debilitating back condition changed the way we think about sleep forever. It continues to shape our product philosophy in a very real way. The pain and limitations that she suffered from at a very young age made the consequences of poor support deeply personal for us. When you’ve experienced that type of health struggle first-hand, you start to see sleep products for what they really are: tools that can either support the body well or quietly work against it night after night. That experience reinforced something we believe very strongly today, which is that comfort alone is not enough. It made us see that support is not a luxury – it is deeply consequential to how someone feels, functions, and heals. A product has to feel wonderful, of course, but it also has to respect the body and work with it in an impactful way. It has to support alignment, reduce unnecessary strain, relieve pressure points, and help create an environment where the body can actually rest and recover.
Evita’s very personal experience also gave us a much deeper sense of empathy in how we design. We know that for many people, discomfort is not a small issue. It deeply impacts sleep, energy, mood, and quality of life. This is why we approach product development with a great deal of intention, compassion and care. Our mission is to create products that meaningfully improve the experience of sleep. Evita’s story also reminds us that the body can be incredibly responsive when given the right support. That belief influences everything we do. We have developed a more deliberate approach, and greater commitment to ergonomics, adjustability, pressure relief, and how a product performs over time. We design with a deep respect for the body, and with an emphasis on alignment and real-world comfort, because we know first-hand that the right support can have a meaningful impact. In many ways, that experience is part of Honeydew’s foundation. It keeps us focused on designing products that are not only beautiful, luxurious and comfortable, but genuinely supportive in a way that can make a true and profound difference in people’s lives. That mindset is at the heart of everything we do.
Adam Riley: Your pillows have earned praise from Forbes and top media outlets, yet you’ve stayed small-batch and family-run. What’s the thinking behind that decision?
Jonathan and Evita Kunke: Praise from Forbes and other top media outlets has been so validating, and incredibly meaningful to us, but we believe that the reason we have been fortunate enough to receive that recognition is precisely because our business is small-batch and family-run. That is why we continue to stay intentionally committed to the core of how we want to do business. From the beginning, our goal was never to become bigger at the expense of becoming better. We have always believed that we can do both! We’ve chosen to stay small-batch and family-run because it allows us to protect the things that matter most to us: quality, consistency, craftsmanship, and care. When you’re deeply involved in the making of your product, you notice everything . You refine more. You catch things that might get lost in a more scaled, impersonal system. For us, that level of hands-on involvement is a big part of why the product feels the way it does and performs the way it does. We like being able to obsess over the details and knowing that what goes out into the world reflects who we are and what we stand for.
Honeydew was built by our own hands, and that is still how we run our business today. There are real human heartbeats behind it. We feel that very deeply. Keeping the business close allows us to stay deeply involved in product development, protect the integrity of the materials and construction, and make sure the sleeper’s experience always comes before efficiency. It also gives us the freedom to keep improving. We can make decisions because they make the product better, even if it makes our processes harder, which it often does. If we’re going to grow, we want to do it without losing the very things that made people connect with Honeydew in the first place. Being family-run also means the business is personal to us. It keeps us connected to the product, to the people we serve, and to each other’s strengths as founders. That matters to us. These products carry our name, our values, and our standards. We feel a responsibility to make them as well as we possibly can, and to keep improving them.
That doesn’t mean we aren’t ambitious. It just means we want growth to happen in a way that preserves the integrity of what made people fall in love with the product in the first place. For us, staying small-batch isn’t about thinking small, it’s about protecting excellence and growing without losing the heart of what makes Honeydew special.

Adam Riley: Comfort tech is becoming a lifestyle category – especially among gamers, streamers, and remote workers. How do you see Honeydew fitting into that culture?
Jonathan and Evita Kunke: Honeydew Sleep was founded on innovation and revolutionising comfort! We actually think this is a really exciting cultural shift, because it reflects something we’ve believed for a long time: Comfort has a real impact on performance and quality of life. Honeydew fits very organically into that culture, because what gamers, streamers, and remote workers are all looking for is not that different from what we’ve always cared about: comfort that actually supports the body and improves how you feel over time.
When you spend long hours at a desk, in a chair, in front of a screen, or living a more home-centred lifestyle, comfort stops being a luxury and starts becoming part of how you function. It affects your posture, your energy, your recovery, your focus, and ultimately your quality of life. That’s where we think Honeydew belongs. We’ve always seen our products as more than traditional bedding. Yes, we make pillows, but at a deeper level, we’re designing for restoration, ergonomic support, and everyday well-being. That connects very directly with people who care about the way their environment supports how they live their lives. What we love about this shift is that comfort tech is becoming more intentional and more identity-driven. People are curating their spaces with the same level of thought they once reserved for fashion, home decor or personal electronics. They want products that perform well, feel amazing, and reflect a certain lifestyle. We think Honeydew fits into that beautifully because our products sit at the intersection of function, design, and self-care. When we look at gamers, streamers, and remote workers, we don’t see a separate culture from sleep and wellness, but rather an extension of it. Just as we do, they care deeply about performance, ergonomics, and the quality of their environment. These are people who understand that how you rest, recover, and physically feel matters. At Honeydew, those are core values we’ve always designed around. To us, Honeydew is not just about sleep products; it’s about creating comfort that supports how people live, work, recharge, and feel.
We think Honeydew can play a meaningful role there, not just as a sleep brand, but as part of a broader comfort lifestyle. That’s very much the world Honeydew belongs in.
Adam Riley: What’s the most surprising feedback you’ve received from customers — any unexpected use-cases or emotional stories that stuck with you?
Jonathan and Evita Kunke: One of the most delightful and surprising aspects of running our business has been the overwhelmingly positive feedback and engagement from our customers. We have had the absolute pleasure of reading countless reviews, emails, and even handwritten letters detailing what our customers love and appreciate about our products. Within these various forms of correspondence, we have also received sweet photos of unexpected and heartwarming ways our pillows have been “repurposed” in a sense! We have had the joy of seeing adorable pets stealing the pillows of their owners and snuggling up in the curves. We have also heard from happy new mamas, letting us know that the curve of our side sleepers tucks perfectly against their growing bellies and cradles their cozy little infants in just the right way to serve as the ultimate nursing pillow. Parents have told us time and time again that our travel pillow is just the perfect size for their little ones, and because it is adjustable, it is even able to grow with them!
To be honest, we have personally adopted some of the uses that customers have shared with us in our own home. After hearing rave reviews of how ideal our travel pillows are for couch napping, and lumbar support, we decided to upholster some of our travel pillows in vibrant decorative fabrics so that they can permanently live on our own couch. Our travel is perhaps our most versatile pillow! Ultimately, some of the most touching accounts have been from people who have chronic pain and illnesses, or injuries that have caused limitations like loss of mobility. Many have sent us heartfelt notes of gratitude to let us know that they have used our pillows in wheelchairs for pressure and pain relief. Since our fill makes our pillows ultra plush and conforming, as well as resilient, they are perfect for this purpose. Every time we hear from our customers, we feel so validated and fortunate to have the honor and privilege of creating something that has a positive impact on someone’s life. This has always been our mission, and it is why we feel a sense of responsibility to keep creating and providing our customers with products that can enhance their lives and bring them joy and comfort.

Adam Riley: Sustainability and sourcing are hot topics. How do you balance performance, longevity, and environmental responsibility in your materials and manufacturing?
Jonathan and Evita Kunke: Sustainability is very important to us, but we don’t think about it as something separate from performance or longevity. In fact, we believe longevity is actually an important, and often overlooked, part of sustainability. Our goal is to make products that are genuinely better for the sleeper, built to last, and produced with as much care and integrity as possible. We aim to create products that are durable, adaptable, perform exceptionally well, and last long enough that they don’t contribute to the kind of disposable cycle that exists in so many industries. We’ve always believed that making something people love, that is worth keeping, is one of the most meaningful ways to reduce waste. Our pillows are adjustable in both profile and firmness, which means they can evolve with the sleeper over time, and additional fill can be used to help maintain support rather than replacing the product altogether. Combined with a machine-washable cover, that creates a product with a longer useful life, which ultimately helps reduce waste.
We also care a lot about staying close to our manufacturing and being thoughtful about our materials. Since we’re small-batch and family-run, we have more ability to stay hands-on and make decisions based on quality, not just cost. The balance for us is really about making responsible choices without compromising the performance that people rely on. We are very particular and discerning about the materials we use. Our standards are exceptionally high. The fibre in our fill is made from 100% recycled post-consumer polyester, we use Oeko-Tex certified fabrics across our products, and our pillowcases and sheet sets are made with either 100% certified organic Mulberry Silk or 100% viscose derived from organic bamboo, which are both natural and renewable resources. We also recycle excess materials from our manufacturing processes, and we roll-pack our pillows to reduce the space they take up in delivery vehicles, which helps lower our shipping footprint. We also take special care to make sure our packaging is vibrant, fun, and beautifully constructed so that our customers are inspired to reuse their boxes, rather than discarding them For us, balancing performance, longevity, and environmental responsibility is about making thoughtful decisions at every stage and creating products that are not only better for sleep, but ultimately better for our planet.

Adam Riley: Looking ahead, what’s next for Honeydew? Are there new products, collaborations, or comfort innovations on the horizon?
Jonathan and Evita Kunke: We are always dreaming, designing, and striving to innovate sleep products. We whole-heartedly believe that the possibilities are endless and exhilarating, so we are constantly chasing the next invention, improvement or enhancement. So far Honeydew has specialised in pillows, and those are the heart and soul of what we do. Do we love the pillow we have created and think it’s the best of the best? We might be biased, but absolutely! Does that mean that we will stop exploring, examining, experimenting, educating ourselves and venturing into new ways we can refine or improve pillows? That would be a resounding no! There is always more to learn, and new things come into our consciousness all the time. It is our passion to pursue perfection, but our resolve to never proclaim it. This way, we will never be tempted to stop seeking out the next way to surprise and delight our customers by improving their sleep exponentially! When it comes to products that we choose to offer, we have just a few simple criteria that we refuse to compromise on. They must be utterly exceptional, entirely unique, and have the indisputable ability to transform the sleep and lives of our beloved customers. Anything less would fall short of what they deserve, and at Honeydew we are all about exceeding expectations, so our standards have to remain impossibly high. They say to shoot for the moon for a reason, and we always do.
As far as what the future holds, we are giddy with ideas! We have a few products in the pipeline already, and so many more in the farthest reaches of our imaginations. To bring things back to earth for a moment, one of our many aspirations is to offer a full line of what we call in the biz “top of bed” products. For those of you who are not as sleep industry savvy, I’m sure you can still surmise that this means everything you need to put on your mattress (toppers, and duvets, and duvet covers, oh my!). When it comes to collaborations, we steadfastly and genuinely believe that teamwork makes the dream work, and two heads are better than one, especially if they are resting on the right pillow. We welcome collaborative efforts because we know that when inviting different perspectives and ideas, we can collectively come up with so much more to offer, and at Honeydew we often like to proclaim, “More is More!”
We have our eyes and hearts set on some products and companies we would absolutely be thrilled to collaborate with but so far we have been working hard on growing our brand so that we can be as desirable a partner as the ones we would love to work with.

Adam Riley: If you could redesign one thing about how people shop for sleep products — what would it be, and why?
Jonathan and Evita Kunke: We always wish that people had more of an awareness of how deeply and profoundly sleep impacts every aspect of our health: physical, mental, and emotional. Without the proper amount and quality of sleep, our bodies become depleted and simply cannot thrive, making it impossible for us to enjoy our lives to the fullest. Even our immunity is compromised when our bodies don’t have the opportunity to restore themselves with the proper rest. If people truly had this awareness, and the ability to apply it to their lives, they could make some really meaningful changes that would significantly improve their quality of life. All too often, people think of their sleep surface, bedding, and sleep accessories as simple household items or necessities. This, in turn, causes them to bargain shop without realising that sacrificing quality for cost, could cost them far more in terms of their health and happiness. Another really difficult issue is that marketing dollars are often used to buy trust and give the illusion of credibility. Some companies use their funds to invest in visibility without actually having a product that can truly support their claims, or ultimately even support the humans that sleep on it. If we could give a shopper some valuable advice, it would be that investing in your sleep is a sound and important investment in your health. Not all sleep products are created equal, and most often, unfortunately you get what you pay for. Of course, everyone has a budget, but this is one of the areas in life where you can’t really afford not to indulge. Your health is the most precious thing you have, and you need to treat it accordingly. This means that you will need to do some research and pay attention to the quality of the materials and craftsmanship of any sleep product you purchase. Take the time to read reviews instead of falling for hype. Make note of where products are made and whether they have all of the safety certifications that they should in order to protect your health. Also, make certain that the products have a solid warranty, and a trial period. Reviews, although they can be a helpful guide and give some insight, are subjective. Sleep and comfort are deeply personal and even if others love a product, it doesn’t guarantee that you will. When it comes to mattresses and pillows, the key things to keep in mind are spinal alignment and pressure relief. They need to be able to conform to your body and support you properly in order to reduce pain and pressure so that you can wake up feeling restored and rejuvenated. Another really helpful tip is that once you have purchased something, give yourself a little time to adjust to it before making your final decision. We all have muscle memory so even if you go from sleeping on something terrible to something absolutely wonderful, you need to give your body a chance to catch up and realise it. Lastly, the ability to customise is key. Our sleep needs can differ wildly based on our physicality, injuries, pain points, and even comfort preferences. Having a product that you can adjust to your needs and preferences is a game changer. No one knows what you need better than you do.

Adam Riley: Finally, what’s one myth about sleep or pillows you wish more people understood — and how does Honeydew challenge it?
Jonathan and Evita Kunke: One of the most common myths about a sleep surface is that in order to get the most support possible, the mattress or pillow must be the firmest option available. This really couldn’t be more wrong, and yet so many people falsely believe it to be true. In a way, it seems to make sense when you think that more structure must mean more support. However, our bodies are not flat and if something is too firm, it will not be possible for it to conform where our bodies curve and meet us where we need it the most – the lumbar. If the heavier parts of our bodies are not able to sink in so that the mattress or pillow can fill in our curves, then our bodies will hover or droop, in both cases throwing us out of alignment, causing pain and pressure. When you are trying a mattress and pillow, make sure that your spine is always straight and that your body feels free from tension.
What has always fascinated us is that this myth can exist not only among shoppers, but has also made an appearance in the actual bedding industry as well. In fact, it is one of the main reasons that Honeydew came to exist! We noticed that when it came to pillows, the ones that were actually supportive were ultimately too firm, causing pressure points, numbness, tingling, and sleepless nights, despite their ability to keep your neck and shoulders in alignment. In contrast, the pillows that felt soft and luxurious offered little to no support, flattening out and causing misalignment, which also led to pain and discomfort. This is the very problem that we aimed to solve, which led us to designing our pillow in such a way that it could provide the perfect marriage of both support and pressure relief and thus, Honeydew was born. The other myth we encounter far too often, and a personal pet peeve of ours, is that your mattress is really the most important part of your sleep system, and that your pillow is somehow not as critical. We have to vehemently object, and insist that your pillow is every bit, and arguably even more, important than your mattress.
Pillows are life! Definitely our life, but also most certainly a crucial part of yours, and that is what Honeydew aims to teach each and every person we can reach. The reason is actually very simple: your pillow is responsible for supporting some of the most structurally sensitive and consequential parts of your body: your head, neck, and upper spine. In fact, over 20% of your spinal vertebrae are located in your neck. A mattress supports your body broadly. A pillow has a much more precise job. It has to properly fill the space between your head, neck, and shoulders, maintain alignment, adapt to your sleep position, and continue doing that over the course of the night as you move and settle. That is not a small job. It is an incredibly important one.
In many cases, a poor pillow will disrupt sleep faster and more noticeably than an imperfect mattress. The truth is, the pillow is often the part of the sleep system doing the most nuanced ergonomic work. It has to account for shoulder width, body shape, sleep position, loft preference, firmness preference, and how those things change over time. That is why we have always felt that pillows have been dramatically underestimated by the industry and by consumers alike. A great mattress matters, absolutely. We would never say otherwise. The idea that the pillow is somehow an accessory to the mattress is, in our view, completely backwards. Your pillow is not an afterthought. It is a critical piece of your alignment, your comfort, your recovery, and ultimately your quality of sleep. On a less technical note, in our most vulnerable moments of life our pillow is one of our greatest sources of physical comfort. A pillow is a deeply personal and intimate item. When someone is ill, suffering, vulnerable or struggling, their pillow can sometimes be their only soft place to land, delivering not only physical support, but also helping soothe their mind and heart as well. Healing happens while our head rests on our pillow, and for that reason, our pillow needs to show up to do its job absolutely perfectly. If anything, we believe the pillow deserves far more attention than it typically gets, because when it is wrong, the effects are immediate – and when it is right, it can genuinely transform the way you sleep.
