Adam Riley, Director at Cubed3: How would you describe TESSAN’s core mission today, and how has the company evolved since its early products?

TESSAN Team: TESSAN’s core mission is to provide safe, convenient, and intelligent charging solutions that embody our philosophy of "Charging Your Home and Journey"—evolving from a simple travel adapter creator into the world’s innovative multi-scenario smart charging brand.

Adam Riley: Your catalogue spans travel adapters, power strips and home-charging solutions. What principles guide the design of a TESSAN product across such a broad range?

TESSAN Team: Our designs are guided by three core dimensions: user scenarios, safety performance, and global compatibility. Whether it’s a compact travel plug or a tower-style home power strip, every product is engineered as a "System of Power" designed to solve real-life space and cable-clutter issues.

Adam Riley: Many of your products emphasise compactness and practicality. How do you balance portability with durability and safety when designing for everyday use?

TESSAN Team: We never compromise safety merely to create a compact or portable product. Instead, we invest in cutting-edge R&D to engineer entirely new charging solutions where safety is the baseline. For example, by integrating advanced GaN chips and premium fire-resistant materials, we can significantly shrink the product’s footprint while actually improving heat dissipation and voltage management. By utilising structures like embedded aluminium heat plates and L-shaped busbar insulation, we can significantly reduce the product’s footprint while maintaining exceptional thermal stability and safety.

Adam Riley: The charging and accessories market is crowded. What do you see as TESSAN’s key strengths that set it apart?

TESSAN Team: For the past decade, we have focused exclusively on the travel and home charging sectors, establishing ourselves as experts and leaders in this specific vertical. While the charging accessories space is undoubtedly a highly competitive "red ocean" market, our unwavering focus has allowed us to accumulate an invaluable asset: tens of millions of loyal users worldwide. Their real-world needs and direct feedback are the ultimate core advantages driving our product innovation. Building on that foundation, our absolute strength lies in our robust R&D capability. We hold over 250 global patents specifically dedicated to structural innovation and intelligent power distribution. We go deep, not wide—focusing obsessively on perfecting details like our anti-rebound plug locking systems that others overlook.

Adam Riley: Safety standards vary widely across regions. How does TESSAN ensure consistent reliability while meeting international requirements?

TESSAN Team: Safety is at the core of our design philosophy. TESSAN products are engineered to align with major international safety benchmarks. We work closely with recognized testing protocols to ensure our offerings meet the necessary regional requirements—such as CE, FCC, and UKCA—where applicable. By maintaining rigorous internal quality controls and collaborating with industry-leading labs, we ensure consistent reliability across our diverse product range.

Adam Riley: Fastcharging protocols continue to evolve. How does your engineering team stay ahead of new standards and device requirements?

TESSAN Team: We constantly keep a close eye on cutting-edge technological trends and are relentlessly researching and applying new materials and technologies, which helps us consistently maintain our leading position. Driven by this, our dedicated Electrical and Software Engineering teams developed an independent Intelligent Power Distribution Logic. By utilizing MCU interlinked modules, our chargers can dynamically recognise devices, limit current intelligently, and perfectly support the latest PD and fast-charging protocols.

Adam Riley: More people now travel with gaming handhelds such as the Steam Deck, Switch and mobile controllers. How has this shift influenced your approach to multidevice charging?

TESSAN Team: The demand for high-wattage, multi-device charging drove the creation of our flagship GaN adapters, like the 140W and 205W models. They feature a staggered vertical-horizontal port arrangement, allowing gamers to safely push maximum power to their consoles and phones simultaneously without thermal throttling.

Adam Riley: Home gaming setups often involve multiple screens, consoles and accessories. How does TESSAN design products that support these more powerintensive environments?

TESSAN Team: For these scenarios, we focus on high load capacity and protection. Our home power strips feature a built-in intelligent IC with advanced overload, short-circuit, and robust surge protection mechanisms, ensuring expensive gaming rigs remain safe from unpredictable power spikes.

Adam Riley: Customer feedback appears to influence many of your updates. How do user insights shape decisions across the wider product range?

TESSAN Team: TESSAN was actually founded because our CEO experienced charging frustrations during an overseas trip. User pain points are our R&D roadmap. For instance, noticing that heavy adapters tend to fall out of older US wall outlets led us to develop our patented rotatable plug locking system for mechanical stability.

Adam Riley: Sustainability is becoming increasingly important. What steps is TESSAN taking to improve environmental responsibility in materials, packaging or manufacturing?

TESSAN Team: We take this very seriously through our "Low-Carbon Charging Action." We have partnered with ClimatePartner to assess our carbon footprint (recently offsetting 386 tons of CO2 via a Nepal biogas project) and teamed up with One Tree Planted to plant a tree for every product sold, ensuring our journeys protect the planet.

Adam Riley: With gaming and popculture collaborations becoming more common in tech accessories, has TESSAN considered producing themed or cobranded versions of its products?

TESSAN Team: Co-branding is a fascinating space for us. We are definitely exploring opportunities to collaborate with well-known, highly creative IPs and brands that share our vision for innovation. You can certainly expect to see some exciting, themed crossover products from TESSAN in the future as we continue to blend tech accessories with lifestyle and culture!

Adam Riley: Looking ahead, what areas of innovation are you most excited about, and what can customers expect from TESSAN in the near future?

TESSAN Team: After years of dedicated R&D and deep analysis of evolving traveler needs, we are thrilled to unveil a groundbreaking travel adapter later this year. This flagship device will feature a revolutionary form factor—something the industry has truly never seen before. Beyond its design, we are integrating AI-driven intelligence into our charging ecosystem to fundamentally optimize power efficiency and elevate the user experience. We aren’t just launching a product; we are poised to redefine the category.
