Nintendo Takes Full Top 10 in Japan on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo has managed to fill all the Top 10 spots in this week's Media Create chart from Japan, plus topped the hardware side. This week saw Bandai Namco's Taiko no Tatsujin take the top spot, followed by the continued strong performance of Animal Crossing Wii, plus a resurgent Kirby and Girls Mode on DS. Konami lands another hit, this time with...Penguins on DS(!) in at No.5, whilst Professor Layton nears the half million mark, Pokemon Platinum storms well past the two million mark, Wii Fit nears the three million milestone and Mario Kart Wii returns to the Top 10.

Also noteworthy the DS has now overtaken the PSP in 2008 overall sales! Just a few weeks from the end of the year Smilie

Avoid Games Like the Plague, productivity++

Yup, and even with Dissidia out now I doubt very much the PSP can re-gain the crown.

Just like the good old days.Smilie

Tasunoko vs Capcom didn't exactly do as good as I though, but then it's only the first week.

Still, good to see that the DS is overall back on top.

I think only 35,000 copies were shipped, though, so it's not all bad news Smilie

Wow, AC:WW is still in the top 20.

The former top user was Keven! You'd probably give birth to yourself 1000 times over until you sprout wings to fly away into the fading sun, that or you'd just turn into a lesbian. Who knows @_@ - L, 12/06/09

It's been lingering around the Top 50 for ages now, creeping back up in the run-up to AC Wii's release. It looks like it will definitely reach the 5 million mark eventually!
