The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild amiibo Unveiled on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

During the grand unveiling of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild today at E3, three brand new amiibo were revealed for the game.

They include 'archer' Link, 'rider' Link, and a Guardian. The Guardian is the first posable amiibo, with each of its legs being completely bendable.

Their specific in-game functionality has not yet been detailed.

During Treehouse Live, Nintendo's Bill Trinen described them as "easily the most highly detailed amiibo that I think we've created so far."

Additionally, the Wolf Link amiibo that was first released alongside The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will also be compatible. Able to be scanned once per day, it will bring Wolf Link into the game as your companion who can attack enemies, sniff out certain items, and help scrounge for food. The number of hearts Wolf Link has is determined by the remaining number of hearts possessed after completing the Cave of Shadows (or three hearts if the Cave of Shadows has not been played).

Will you be picking up these amiibo when the game is released next spring?

I guess this confirms Amiibo functionality for the NX too. Not that it's surprising.

Getting all these, still wondering what they'll do in-game though. Love the use of the Wolf Link amiibo!
