Nintendo Wii Screens | First Call of Duty 3 Shots

By James Temperton 11.07.2006 35

This is the latest title in the hugely successful and really quite excellent war shoot-'em-up Call of Duty franchise. With a full Wii version in the works along with versions for XBOX, XBOX360, PS2, PS3 this is sure to be one of the biggest titles of the next-generation when it hits store shelves during Autumn of 2006. The game focuses on the Normandy Breakout, the campaign that made the liberation of Paris possible and brought the Allies a step closer to Berlin and victory. The game knits together the stories of four Allied soldiers from America, Britain, Canada and Poland.

The game looks gorgeous and will definitely be making very good use of the Wii controller features. The first two screens have been released, so be sure to check them out by clicking the album below. No doubt more information will be released on this title soon, stay tuned...

Er, weren't these in ONM a few days ago? Smilie

EDIT: Ok, so the pix of the people weren't there, but...

Aye, but they only got released to the online press today. I wouldn't know if they were on ONM, but I should imagine so, being a magazine they would naturally get them sooner to make sure they were in on time for the latest issue.

Trying to think of a witty signature after 'Hacker-gate'...

Hmmm...the guys in the screens look like they were taken from some pictures of the Red Steel team. That second guy looks like he is doing the block for the sword fighting.

EDIT: Ok, if these guys are playing the game...what the heck is that second guy doing?

I swear I saw these on Gamespot or some other site ages ago...

Oh you guys are missing the most important part. Look at the gun position, it is more in line with PC fps games, which means, it may control more like a PC fps then what we've seen with MP3 or RS.

Gods in His Heaven. Alls right in the World.

I'm getting a bit sick of seeing some twat being added to the side of these screen shots. It's getting a bit stupid now.

I should think he is steering the tank. And apparently all people who play the Nintendo Wii look a bit like Gary Jules and wear stupid hats...joy.

sweet holy canned pickles thats awsome

Treyarch are developing this right? So expect "COD2:Big Red One" type of game rather than Xbox 360 and PC's "Call of Duty 2" by infinity ward (which was considerably better)

Aye, it's Treyarch, but they are a pretty solid development house. I've got quite high hopes for this one, CoD games are normally quite entertaining and most of all they look stunning and really convey the drama of war very well. Should be good IMO.

Yeah treyach are a decent developer, loved their spiderman games.

Just some Xbox360 owners will assume that COD3 would be the sequel to the version of COD2 they got, when it won't be.... Very confusing for 360 owners.

ooooh it looks nice!!! Smilie this game should be good!!!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

It looks generic and crap like all WWI/II games. *yawn*

That tank looks like PS1 shite, but these screens are pretty old.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

*is pleased with what he sees*

well the smoke looks nice and their is a good draw distance but the tank does look really bad. i'll reserve judgement until it comes out.

But they are bringing this closer to the CoD style whilst retaining elements of BRO (which was still the best FPS on the GameCube by a mile).

what the....have you never played TS2 Hazuki? Smilie

Or ANY OTHER GC FPS!?

i saw these shots in ONM in the most recent issue, im quite excited by it as they have sometime to complete this game due as it isnt a launch title.

Bleep bleep blork bleep

here's a 360 screen:

Looks good. Ill be getting it simply because of the controls. It should make a boring war game more intresting.

Why is everyone wanting this game for Christs sake....you all want it to look "cool" and that you like war games or something? Smilie Why would anyone be crazy enough to buy it due to the controls Smilie

Got to love it... everyone's busy posting about how the x360/ps3 are full of gun games, and there's nothing fun; then, suddenly, when a gun game is announced for the wii everyone is furiously wanking thinking of it with the remote.
