Nintendo RPG News | First Legend of the River King DS Screens, Art & Info

Whilst Harvest Moon was actually released for the DS over a year ago in Japan, Europe is only set to get the game later this year. However, before we likely get that, Marvelous Interactive will have released Legend of the River King for the Nintendo DS in October of this year over in Japan.

The fishing-themed RPG sees a young man set off to find the cure for his poor, ill younger sister and having to enlist the help of a strange ghost. There are various other ghost characters you can actually meet along the way, as well as use numerous special abilities. And, of course, there is touch-screen fishing, using the stylus! The game is due to launch for 5040Yen in October and come complete with Nintendo's Wi-Fi Connection for online play.

I've always wanted to play one of these games, but never got round to it. Seems like the younger brother of Harvest Moon, and hides in its shadow.

Hopefully this will be the one to lift the series up!

Looks allright and yeah you can tell theres some simlarilty between harvest moon and this. I'll be looking foward to seeing more of this.

Adam, I can't believe you've never played Legend Of The River King. Get yourself a copy of the GB Colour version via...any means you like, and you should enjoy it. I used to think it was ace, and so I'm much looking forward to this!

- Wi-Fi could possibly be fishing battles or item trading?

- Harvest Moon: Rune Factory, a bit more of an RPG-skewed game is due out in August.
