Anker PowerWave 7.5 Stand Wireless Charger (A2524)

Anker PowerWave 7.5 Stand Wireless Charger (A2524) Review

by Adam Riley 8 November 2025 0

Wireless charging has moved from novelty to everyday convenience, with most modern smartphones supporting the Qi standard. Anker, long established as a reliable name in charging accessories, has positioned its PowerWave series as the practical choice for those who want dependable performance without overspending. The PowerWave Stand Wireless Charger (A2524) – sometimes marketed as the Anker 313 Wireless Charger Stand and confusingly so, since that’s also a power bank from the company – promises up to 10W fast charging, broad device compatibility, and a design that doubles as a phone cradle. The question is whether this budget‑friendly stand can deliver a meaningful upgrade over generic pads.

Look and Feel

The PowerWave Stand is minimalist in appearance, with a matte black finish and a subtle Anker logo. Its upright design allows phones to be placed vertically or horizontally, thanks to dual charging coils. This makes it equally suited for messaging, Face ID unlocks, or watching videos while charging. At just over 11cm tall and weighing around 109g, it is compact enough to sit unobtrusively on a desk or nightstand. The base is rubberised to prevent slipping, while the angled cradle holds devices securely. Build quality is solid for the price, with no creaks or flex, and the understated design blends easily into most environments.

What It Can Do

The PowerWave Stand supports multiple charging profiles, automatically adjusting output depending on the device:
– 10W Fast Charge for Samsung Galaxy models (S20/S10/S9/S8, Note 10/9/8/7, S7/S7 Edge, S6 Edge+).
– 7.5W Optimised Charge for iPhones (iPhone 8 through iPhone 15 series, including SE 2020).
– 5W Standard Charge for other Qi‑enabled devices, including Google Pixel (though Pixel devices display “charging slowly”).

The charger is Qi‑certified (Qi ID: 4519), ensuring compliance with safety and efficiency standards. It includes foreign object detection, short‑circuit protection, and temperature control, which are important safeguards missing from many cheaper alternatives. A subtle LED indicator at the base shows charging status: steady blue for active charging, flashing for errors or foreign objects. The light is dim enough not to disturb sleep, making it suitable for bedside use. Anker includes clear safety guidance with the PowerWave Stand. The unit is Qi‑certified (Qi ID: 4519) and complies with FCC, CE, and Industry Canada standards. Built‑in protections cover foreign object detection, short‑circuit prevention, and temperature control. The documentation also advises using only certified cables, keeping the charger away from open flames, and operating it in moderate climates. Disposal should follow electronic recycling guidelines rather than household waste. The more you know…

Charging in Practice

In everyday use, the PowerWave Stand delivers consistent results. iPhones charge at the expected 7.5W rate, which is faster than many generic pads that default to 5W. Samsung devices benefit from the 10W profile, while other Qi‑enabled phones receive the standard 5W. Heat management is effective, with the aluminium base dispersing warmth during extended sessions. The stand remains cool to the touch, even after hours of charging. Charging is silent, with only the faintest coil hum detectable in very quiet rooms. The main limitation is the lack of a bundled wall adapter. To achieve maximum speeds, a Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0 adapter is required, which must be purchased separately if not already owned. Using a standard 5V/1A charger or a computer USB port will result in much slower charging.

Everyday Convenience

The PowerWave Stand excels in ease of use. Dropping a phone onto the cradle becomes second nature, and the case‑friendly design means it works through protective covers up to 5mm thick. Only metal cases, magnetic attachments, or grips interfere with charging. The ability to charge in both portrait and landscape orientation is particularly useful. Portrait mode is ideal for checking notifications or video calls, while landscape mode makes it easy to watch films or streams while topping up the battery. It is not a replacement for wired fast charging — a cable will still fill a phone more quickly — but for overnight charging, desk use, or casual top‑ups, the PowerWave Stand strikes an excellent balance between speed and ease.

How It Stacks Up

– Versus Belkin Boost Up Stand: Belkin’s equivalent is bulkier and more expensive, with similar performance. Anker wins on value and portability.
– Versus Samsung Wireless Charger Duo: Samsung’s model supports multiple devices simultaneously but costs significantly more. The PowerWave is better suited for single‑device users.
– Versus generic Qi pads: Many budget pads lack case‑friendly charging, dual coils, or safety certifications. The PowerWave’s reliability and protections make it a safer long‑term choice.

Cubed3 Summary

The Anker PowerWave 7.5 Stand (A2524) is a reliable, affordable wireless charger that balances speed, safety, and convenience. It is not the fastest option on the market, and the absence of a bundled adapter is a drawback, but its dual‑coil design, case‑friendly charging, and Qi certification make it one of the best value wireless chargers available. Overall, this is practical, versatile, and dependable. The PowerWave Stand is a smart choice for anyone looking to simplify charging without overspending.
