Boulies Master Rex Gaming Chair Series

Boulies Master Rex Gaming Chair Series Review

by Luke Hemming 12 March 2025 0

Ensuring a comfortable and long-lasting chair for the latest gaming setup is a must. With such a high price point on the majority of offers on the market, it’s important to do the research and invest in a piece of kit that will stand the test of time. Before this review, Boulies was a relative newcomer, yet it’s been kind enough to provide some different samples to Cubed3. After spending some time getting cosy, this could be the go-to for both gaming and office use.

Straight out of the box, the first thing that strikes you with the Boulies Master Series is the look of professionalism. Reviewed was the Ash grey Rex model; however, various colours and finishes are available, including Water repellent, nappa leather to Ultraflex PU. Having these options gives the aesthetic choice of putting this in an office or gaming environment, and in both, it flourishes. With the setup here, the master series has been used for both work and play and is doing the job well in both due to its integrated lumbar support, a feature that regularly only features in more high-end, more expensive options.

Coming in currently at 329.99 from the official website, this sits itself firmly in the higher but still affordable price range while not compromising on quality. Everything expected from a gaming chair in 2025 is there, and it really makes it seem the only reason this hasn’t got another 100 tagged on is that Boulies are looking to carve its place in the market. Proving their ability and getting themselves noticed for quality and, just as importantly, affordability.

The chair was packaged well enough to arrive safely, all components are carefully wrapped while not overdoing it on the shipping materials. The build was simple, with clear and simple instructions on ‘what goes where, ‘ along with the all-important content checklist showing what you are looking at as opposed to random letters and numbers leading to guesswork. One could argue that the instructions were maybe a little vague in places, but these were backed up by images of how your chair should look at each step.

Whether working or gaming, the Boulies Master Series is going to get a lot of use, so comfort is a priority. As previously mentioned, the internal lumbar support is a welcome addition which is also easy to adjust from the side of the chair, letting you know with an audible and assuring click. The desk chair staples of reclining and height are also present and just as easily adjusted with a good range of motion. Which caters for the smallest to the tallest of us.

Your ‘bum holder’ (or seat section for the less fun) is also perfectly serviceable and doesn’t cross the mind when settled in. This may seem like a criticism, but in this reviewer’s eyes, it is the biggest compliment that can be given when referring to a seat. What is most important during long work of gaming sessions is not being aware of what you are sitting on, something that is happily doing the job and not causing a distraction of any kind. A cosy experience at first, moving into an oblivious one that can be enjoyed for hours at a time.

If there is one criticism, the Boulies master series can, at times, be as noisy as my standard donkeys’ year-old alternative. The occasional squeak seems to come from nowhere, but as mentioned, for the price and the high level of comfort that this provides, it’s hardly worth mentioning (though it has been, just then). If willing to put the time in and adjust the controls accordingly, a perfect balance between comfort and support can be found, perfectly suited to the individual.

Cubed3 Summary

There isn't anything much negative to say about the Boulies Master Series, a comfortable and affordable option with features above its price range. With the product range full aesthetic choices in colours that aren't too garish, this could also happily slot into both an office and gaming environment and look great in both. Well worth a look and, judging by the amount of credit from other publications, the Boulies Master Series is making waves in the market.
