Long since seen as a bizarre add on for console gaming, mice are now used far more frequently with many a young lad looking for that bit more accuracy and quickness in their Fortnite tea bagging sessions. Looking to find their place in the market in the EKSA EM600 Gaming Mouse, suitable for both XBOX and PC with the usual great approach of a quality piece of hardware, minus the expensive entry point. With that approach in mind, anybody looking to dabble can take the plunge without breaking the bank.
Growing up in the 90’s the love for a rainbow aesthetic is unrivalled in the nostalgia stakes. It’s a great design combination straight off the bat with a nice multicoloured super bright option peeking through the standard boring black. Light but not that weird, creepy light that makes you feel something isn’t sturdy, holding this in the hand feels that cheap as the price point is, you have something of a decent build quality. As a lefty also, mice shape is something that always feels slightly uncomfortable but the curves here as well as the textured grip points mean that control is going to stay, well, controlled.
Moving back to the frankly awesome lighting choices that seem to run consistently through the EKSA series, multiple lighting options are available through the bottom of the mouse and the casing also allows ensures that the hum of the lights aren’t too distracting in your peripheral vision. The best part however (certainly for someone who will instantly add a review point on for it) is a wonderfully long BRAIDED cable. Instantly giving any piece of equipment a more professional feel and the comfort of knowing that with a cable like that, its kit that is going to last.
As a gamer that doesn’t foray into the world of first person shooters (the last thing a mouse was needed for was any pre 2000’s Lucasarts point and click) the acronym DPI meant nothing at all. A bit of research was essential to fully explain the EKSA EM600 Gaming Mouse and its most unique feature on the market. Nestled on the mouse is the dedicated ‘sniper button’, which allows quick control to reduce or increase the mouse DPI. DPI stands for dots per inch and measures the distance a mouse needs to travel. Theoretically, increasing DPI should allow for faster movement and quicker headshots. For such low pricing, its certainly a very interesting addition to separate themselves from the Mouse pack (Herd? King?).
