Elgato Clamp for Key Light Neo

Elgato Clamp for Key Light Neo Review

by Adam Riley 29 March 2026 0

Elgato’s Neo ecosystem is built around compact, approachable creator gear that fits neatly into modern hybrid setups. The Clamp for Key Light Neo continues that theme, offering a tidy, edge‑mounted solution for positioning the Neo light or Facecam Neo without sacrificing desk space. It’s a simple accessory, but one that has a noticeable impact on how flexible and clutter‑free a workspace can feel.

Design and Build

The clamp adopts the same soft white aesthetic as the Neo line, keeping everything visually consistent. The construction is reassuringly solid, with a padded grip that protects the desk surface while holding firm. The height range of 38.3cm to 55.7cm is sensible for seated use, and the ¼‑inch screw mount keeps things compatible not only with Neo devices but with any lightweight accessory using the standard thread (such as the recently tested Feiyu Pocket 3). One detail stands out, though. The clamp uses Elgato’s older bare‑metal tightening lever rather than the newer plastic wing grip found on the premium Key Light mounts and the Master Mount L itself. It works reliably and locks down securely, but the exposed metal feels dated and lacks the smoother, more ergonomic feel of the newer design. It’s purely a matter of comfort and appearance since stability isn’t affected, yet it’s a reminder that the Neo range sits a step below the flagship Multi‑Mount hardware in refinement.

Setup and Usability

Installation is straightforward: clamp it to the desk edge, lock it in place, position your pole, and mount the device of choice. Once in place, the clamp stays out of the way, freeing up desk space and keeping the light, camera, or microphone positioned just off‑screen. For smaller desks or multi‑monitor setups, this is a meaningful improvement over the default monitor clip. Adjustments are quick and predictable. The head on the pole tilts and rotates smoothly, making it easy to fine‑tune lighting angles or reframe a webcam shot. The included headset holder and cable clips help keep the workspace tidy, which is a welcome touch for creators who prefer a clean, intentional setup.

Performance in Real Workflows

In daily use, the clamp proves to be a genuinely useful upgrade. Moving the light or camera off the monitor and onto the desk edge opens up new angles and reduces visual clutter. The stability is excellent, even when the desk is nudged, and the adjustable height makes it easy to achieve flattering lighting or eye‑level framing. For Facecam Neo (or even Facecam 4K) users, the clamp is particularly valuable. It allows the camera to sit independently of the monitor, which is ideal for multi‑display setups or for creators who prefer a slightly off‑centre angle. The universal ¼‑inch thread also means the clamp can support other lightweight devices, adding flexibility beyond the Neo ecosystem.

Value

At £32–£35, the clamp sits in familiar Elgato territory: not the cheapest accessory, but well‑built and thoughtfully designed, making it good value overall. The tidy footprint, smooth adjustability and cable management justify the price, especially for users who want a cleaner, more flexible workspace. It’s a practical upgrade that feels aligned with the Neo range’s focus on simplicity and ease of use.

Cubed3 Summary

The Elgato Clamp for Key Light Neo is a compact, well‑considered accessory that quietly improves the flexibility and cleanliness of a creator’s desk setup. Its stable edge‑mounted design, smooth adjustability and thoughtful extras make it a natural fit for the Neo ecosystem, while the universal ¼‑inch mount adds welcome versatility for usage with other pieces of creator kit. The older metal tightening lever is the only element that feels out of step with Elgato’s newer design language, but it doesn’t affect performance. For anyone using the Key Light Neo or Facecam Neo in a desk‑based environment, this clamp feels like the way the hardware was meant to be used.
