Imagine this scenario: It’s the middle of an epic boss battle. There are only a few hits left to banish Bowser from the Mushroom Kingdom, but the dreaded low battery warning flashes one too many times. The Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con have met their untimely demise – well, temporarily. Those without spare controllers may need to wait it out. Excruciating minutes for the Joy-Con to regain some semblance of consciousness.
Out the box, the new Joy-Con controllers don’t have an option to charge whilst playing docked or an easy way to top-up any spares. Enter JSAUX, who have a charging grip available for the Joy-Con and a standalone charging dock.

Jsaux Joy-Con Charging Grip for Switch 2
One of the challenges with the Switch 2 Joy-Con is finding the right grip. There are various options out there, but some make the overall form factor too clunky, or the magnetic sides aren’t strong enough. There’s also a tendency for some grips to sit fairly tight, making the overall hold feel a little cramped.

The Jsaux charging grips cover both bases well with a strong magnetic hold and unique form factor. Though with a little pressure, controllers can be pulled off. In general, though, it’s a secure enough fit and hold. The shape, reminiscent of a tuning fork or trusty boomerang, does seem a bit peculiar at first glance, but it does well in spacing out the two Joy-Con to mimic the width of a traditional controller. Despite the small size, it feels robust and should hold up well for longer play sessions.
Out of the box, it doesn’t include back handles for a more traditional controller feel, though Jsaux do have various separate grip options available. It means having to rest fingers around the inner side. It may sound odd, but surprisingly it works. The grip has the standard player LED lights, plus the USB-C connection at the top for easy charging where needed.

Jsaux Joy-Con Charging Dock for Switch 2
Have spare Joy-Cons to hand or looking for a way to charge the controllers without a grip? Jsaux also have a changing dock available. Supporting up to 4 Joy-Con in tandem, it’s a nifty little gadget – especially for households that have multiple players who all want a turn!
Much like the charging grip, the controllers slide into place magnetically. Yes, while the controllers can be removed easily, the connection is secure enough for regular charging. There are small indicators at the bottom that highlight changing status and the overall unit is surprisingly weighty to prevent toppling over. And of course, in true modern gaming accessory fashion, there’s an optional RGB light bar… for extra gamer vibes?

The Jsaux Joy-Con Charging Dock for Switch 2 also includes the usual smart charging technology under the hood to ensure that those precious, rather expensive, controller remain in good condition. Both also include spare USB-C cables, because, why not?
