Tower Vortx 11-Litre Dual Layer Air Fryer Review

by Adam Riley 15 September 2025 2

Gamers are no strangers to optimising performance. From tweaking settings to upgrading hardware, and finding every edge to stay ahead. While people obsess over framerates and ping, though, most often overlook another crucial part of the equation: fuelling themselves. Long sessions demand energy, and the wrong food choices can leave you sluggish or constantly away from the keyboard or gamepad and stuck in the kitchen.

Tower Vortx 11-Litre Dual Layer Air Fryer: Level Up Your Gaming Fuel

That’s where the Tower Vortx 11 Litre Dual Layer Air Fryer comes in. It’s not marketed as a gaming accessory, but in practice, it’s a perfect fit for the lifestyle. Fast, efficient, and capable of cooking multiple dishes at once, it keeps you fed without pulling you out of the action for long – and that has certainly been the case for Cubed3 since obtaining Tower’s latest… tower!

Design, Capacity and Everyday Practicality

The Vortx’s slimline vertical design is a smart twist on the dual‑basket concept. Instead of two wide baskets side by side, it stacks them, giving you the same 11‑litre total capacity while taking up 35% less counter space. For gamers in flats, shared houses, or rooms where the rig already dominates, that’s a big win. Inside, you get two 5.5‑litre baskets, each big enough for a whole chicken or a generous portion of chips.

The independent controls let you run different temperatures, timers, and cooking modes in each basket, so mains and sides can cook simultaneously. Smart Finish ensures both complete together, while Match Cook syncs them for larger portions. It’s equally at home cooking for one, two, or a small squad during a co‑op night – and the compact footprint means it won’t crowd your space.

Features and Performance

The six preset modes: Fries, Wings, Steak, Veg, Bake, and DIY – act like kitchen hotkeys. One tap and you’re on your way to crispy, golden results. For gamers, it’s the equivalent of a quick‑access menu: no fiddling with settings when you’re mid‑raid or ranked matches. Tower’s Vortx rapid air circulation cooks food up to 30% faster than a conventional oven, delivering crunch and flavour with little or no oil.

It’s also more energy‑efficient, with up to 70% savings compared to an oven, which means potentially offsetting some of the power your gaming setup consumes. Each basket can be fitted with a cooking rack, letting you stack two layers of food inside. That means up to four different items cooking at once, which is definitely perfect for hosting a gaming night without juggling multiple appliances.

Built for the Gaming Lifestyle

The Vortx fits into a gamer’s routine because it minimises downtime. You can cook real food – not just instant noodles or takeaway – without stepping away from your setup for long.

Solo grind: Throw seasoned chicken strips and vegetables into one basket, set Match Cook, and you’ve got a balanced meal in under 20 minutes.
Co‑op night: Wings in one basket, curly fries in the other, timed to finish together.
Streaming marathon: Load both baskets with snacks and keep them warm until you’re ready to grab a bite on-camera.

It’s flexible enough to handle quick solo snacks or a full spread for friends, and compact enough to work in the kind of living spaces where gaming setups often dominate.

Ease of Use, Build and Warranty

The digital control panel is intuitive, with clear icons and responsive buttons. Switching between modes or adjusting settings is quick, even if you’re distracted by a Discord call. Cleaning is straightforward thanks to non‑stick baskets and racks, so you can reset for the next cooking session without a long clean‑up phase. The build feels solid and practical, and it comes with Tower’s one‑year guarantee, extendable to three years with online registration.

The Tower Vortx 11 Litre Dual Layer Air Fryer might not have RGB lighting or a “gamer” label, but it earns its place as part of a gaming lifestyle. It’s fast, versatile, and efficient, with a design that works in small spaces and a feature set that suits both solo players and social gamers. If you want to spend less time cooking and more time playing – without sacrificing the quality of your food – this is a smart investment. It’s the kind of upgrade that, like a great headset or a high refresh monitor, quietly improves your day‑to‑day experience.

This really has been such a time saver during gaming sessions. I don’t have to worry about watching pans, checking the oven, and so on. I can just get everything sorted in the two trays and get back to my Switch 2 in peace!
